Roosevelt Field is a shopping mall in the East Garden City section of Uniondale, New York. It was designed by I. M. Pei and is the largest shopping mall on Long Island, the 2nd-largest in the State of New York, and the tenth-largest shopping mall in the United States.It is managed by Simon Property Group. It is the second most successful mall in the state. The anchors of the 243-store mall are Bloomingdale's, JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Neiman Marcus. Previous anchor stores were Gimbels (succeeded by Stern's), A&S, and Alexander's (succeeded by Bloomingdale's). The original anchor store was Macy's. Discount department store chain Century 21 was no longer expected to open in the former Bloomingdale’s Home Furniture in Spring 2021 because Century 21, on Thursday September 10, 2020, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, as a result of insurance companies failing to financially support the chain during the COVID-19 pandemic. In its place, Primark has opened.

Roosevelt Field is a former airport, located in Westbury, Long Island, New York. Originally called the Hempstead Plains Aerodrome, or sometimes Hempstead Plains field or the Garden City Aerodrome, it was a training field (Hazelhurst Field) for the Air Service, United States Army during World War I. In 1919, it was renamed in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt's son, Quentin, who was killed in air combat during World War I. Roosevelt Field was the takeoff point for many historic flights in the early history of aviation, including Charles Lindbergh's 1927 solo transatlantic flight. It was also used by other pioneering aviators, including Amelia Earhart and Wiley Post.

The 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines (2/25) is a reserve infantry battalion in the United States Marine Corps. Headquartered in Garden City, New York, it has units located throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. It consists of approximately 1,000 Marines and sailors under the command of the 25th Marine Regiment and the 4th Marine Division.

The Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM) is a Children's museum located on the campus of Mitchel Field in Uniondale, New York.

Clinton Road was a station stop located on the Garden City-Mitchel Field Secondary branch of the Long Island Rail Road in the village of Garden City, New York. The station opened in 1915 on a line originally built by the Central Railroad of Long Island and was served by shuttle trains running between Country Life Press and Mitchel Field. Passenger service at Clinton Road ended on May 15, 1953.The station building is currently used by the Garden City Fire Department as a fire house.

East Garden City (also known as the Nassau Hub) is a hamlet and former census-designated place (CDP) in the northeast part of the Town of Hempstead, in the central part of Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States, along the Hempstead/North Hempstead town line. The population was 6,208 at the 2010 census, when it was still listed as a CDP. Since then, it is now included in the Uniondale CDP. The hamlet is mostly a commercial and industrial area, and it also includes Nassau Community College – along with a portion of Hofstra University's north campus.

Roosevelt Raceway was a race track located just outside the village of Westbury on Long Island, New York. Initially created as a venue for motor racing, it was converted to a ½-mile harness racing facility (the actual circumference was 100 feet shorter). The harness racing facility operated from September 2, 1940 until July 15, 1988. It was the original home of the Messenger Stakes, part of the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Pacers. The raceway hosted the event until it closed. It was also the first track to use the now universal "mobile starting gate". The operation was sold in 1984 on the condition it was to remain an operating racetrack, but the facilities deteriorated, attendance dropped off, and the plant was no longer profitable. The site of Roosevelt Raceway is part of the Hempstead Plains, located in an unincorporated area of the Town of Hempstead, within the Westbury 11590 Zip Code. It is located near where the first English Governor of New York, Richard Nicolls, established the "Newmarket Course", the first horse racing track in North America (and the first organized sport of any kind) in the territory that would become the United States, in 1664.

The Cradle of Aviation Museum is an aerospace museum located in Uniondale, New York on Long Island, established to commemorate Long Island's part in the history of aviation. It is located on land once part of Mitchel Air Force Base which, together with nearby Roosevelt Field and other airfields on the Hempstead Plains, was the site of many historic flights. So many seminal flights had occurred in the area that, by the mid-1920s, the cluster of airfields was already dubbed the "Cradle of Aviation", the origin of the museum's name.

Carle Place (previously known as Carll Place) is a station along the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). It is served by trains on the Port Jefferson Branch at all times while most Ronkonkoma Branch trains and all Montauk Branch trains bypass the station. It is located at Cherry Lane and Atlantic Avenue in Carle Place, New York.

Saint Mary's Chapel, also known as Saint Mary's Episcopal Church, is a historic Episcopal church located on Rushmore Avenue between Roslyn Avenue and Glen Cove Avenue in Carle Place, Nassau County, New York. It was built in 1926, and is a one-story, rectangular, Tudor Revival style church building. It has a steeply pitched gable roof and low eaves. It features half-timbering on the stucco exterior and a small projecting vestibule.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Mitchel Athletic Complex is part of the Mitchel Field complex, located in Uniondale, New York, on the site of the decommissioned Mitchel Air Force Base. The facility is owned by Nassau County. It is used mostly for football and soccer and also sometimes for athletics. The athletic complex was built in 1984 and was renovated in 1997; it hosted track and field and soccer events during the 1998 Goodwill Games. Mitchel Field is also home to Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College, Hofstra University, Lockheed Corporation, and the Cradle of Aviation Museum. In 2000, the Mitchel Athletic Complex hosted two matches of the 2000 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. A third round match between the Tampa Bay Mutiny and the MetroStars, now the New York Red Bulls, of Major League Soccer and a semi-final match between the Miami Fusion and the MetroStars with the MetroStars falling in the semi-final. In 2002, the Complex hosted a quarter-final match of the 2002 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup between the Columbus Crew and the MetroStars.Mitchel Athletic Complex (also called Mitchel Park and Mitchel Field) was the home to the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse. The 2003 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game was held at Mitchel. It was also home to the New York Power of the former Women's United Soccer Association. It is the current home of the soccer club Long Island Rough Riders. The current seating capacity is 10,102. One of the hangars of the Complex was the practice facility for the New York Dragons of the Arena Football League. The team played their games at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, on another part of Mitchel Field. In 2013 the New York Cosmos opened a new practice facility for the team with remodeled soccer fields within the large site, and in 2019 the club announced that they would play their regular-season games at the complex.
