Academy of Science of South Africa

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is South Africa's central and premier scientific research and development organisation. It was established by an act of parliament in 1945 and is situated on its own campus in the city of Pretoria. It is the largest research and development (R&D) organisation in Africa and accounts for about 10% of the entire African R&D budget. It has a staff of approximately 3,000 technical and scientific researchers, often working in multi-disciplinary teams.

The Pretoria National Botanical Garden is one of South Africa's nine National Botanical Gardens. The garden is wedged between Pretoria Road and Cussonia Avenue in Brummeria, in eastern Pretoria, Gauteng, and flanks a central rocky ridge that runs from east to west. The 76 hectares (0.76 km2) garden was established in 1946, and of late hosts the headquarters of the South African National Biodiversity Institute.

The CSIR International Convention Centre (CSIR ICC) is a convention centre in Pretoria/Tshwane, South Africa. The Centre is situated in the east of South Africa's Capital City within the research, academic and ambassadorial hub of Tshwane and is on the grounds of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). With a R35m upgrade and expansion, the CSIR ICC now has 12 venues, including a 1000 square metre exhibition hall and outdoor dining deck.

The Atterbury Theatre is a multi-genre concert venue seating 400 and located on the corner of Lynnwood Road and Daventry Street in eastern Pretoria, South Africa, part of the Lynnwood Bridge Retail shopping center. The theatre opened on May 18, 2011, with the musical Stuur Groete aan Mannetjies Roux. The theatre serves as a ground floor piazza alongside the four separate store buildings. Studio 3 Architects International, the firm that designed the theatre, was the National Winner of the Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy in the Innovation category, for the use of certain products in the design of the theatre ceiling. It was developed by the Atterbury Group.

The African Centre for Gene Technologies (ACGT) (Pretoria) is located on the Experimental Farm of the University of Pretoria campus, and was established by Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the University of Pretoria, the University of the Witwatersrand, the University of Johannesburg and the Agricultural Research Council (ARC). The aim is to create a collaborative network of excellence in advanced biotechnology, with specific focus on the "-omics".

Die Hoërskool Menlopark (Colloquially known as Menlo) is a public Afrikaans medium co-educational high school situated in the suburb of Menlo Park in Pretoria in the Gauteng province of South Africa. The school learners call themselves as Parkies. The high school was founded in 1963 by the painter Bettie Cilliers-Barnard.

Tuks Stadium (sometimes referred to as ABSA Tuks Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a soccer stadium in Hatfield, Pretoria, and the home ground of the University of Pretoria F.C. It is mainly used for rugby games.

Tuks Cricket Oval or LC de Villiers Oval is a cricket ground in Pretoria, South Africa. It is located in the premises of the Pretoria University. It is an occasional home ground for Northerns cricket team. The university's High Performance Centre which was established in 2002 has become the favored location for the pre-departure camps of Team South Africa in addition to being chosen by several national and international federations as their preferred specialization centre.Oval consist of 6 cricket fields, 3 Football fields, one rugby, two hockey field. Stadium is also shared with athletics. All field has floodlights with capacity of 2,000 persons. The oval hosted two Youth ODIs in 1998 ICC Under-19s World Cup and five women's ODIs in 2005 International Women's Cricket Council World Cup.In 2013, Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan scored unbeaten 248 run on this ground against South Africa A.

The St. Alban's College, a prestige boarding and day school for boys, is located in the centre of the suburb.
