Hannacrois Creek is a 20.9-mile-long (33.6 km) tributary to the Hudson River in the U.S. state of New York. From its source in Westerlo it flows through Dunbar Hollows and over Dickinson Falls to the Alcove Reservoir. It then passes through Coeymans Hollow and just into Greene County to its mouth at the Hudson River in Coeymans, New York. Hannacrois Creek has a drainage area of over 60 square miles (160 km2).Variant names of the creek include Hannacroix Creek, Haanadrois Creek, and Hannekraai, among others. The name translates to the Dutch "Rooster crowing". There is a story that the early Dutch settlers here saw a rooster come floating down the creek on a block of ice, so the creek became known as the Hannekraai, meaning "cock-crowing" creek. The settlement of Hannacroix also took its name from the creek.

A modern 1+1⁄2-story wing is attached to the south elevation. Brigadier General David McCarty Stone Cottage is a historic home located at Coeymans Landing, Albany County, New York. It was built about 1770, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, Colonial period stone dwelling. It measures roughly 20 feet by 40 feet in size and has a moderately pitched gable roof sheathed with 19th century metal shingles. It was the home of General David McCarty, who was an active participant in the events leading up to the American Revolution, served in the Continental Army and held numerous appointments in the post revolutionary era.: 5, 7 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Ariaanje Coeymans House is a historic home located at Coeymans in Albany County, New York. It was built in c.1690 and has a 2- to 3+1⁄2-story main block with a 1- to 2-story wing. It is constructed of stone and brick and has a gambrel roof. Ariaanje Coeymans (1672–1743) was the heiress of a 17th-century flour and saw milling fortune. Her father, Barent Coeymans, held title to the land patent and died in 1710 intestate. Also on the property are the archaeological remains of mills and outbuildings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

It was built about 1852 and is a two-story frame dwelling in a transitional Greek Revival / Gothic Revival style. The rear elevation has a large two-story wing with enclosed porch. It features broad eaves supported by ornate brackets and broad paneled corner boards. The steep gable roof has a central dormer with smaller flanking dormers.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Coeymans School, also known as Acton Civill Polytechnic Institute, is a historic school building located at Coeymans in Albany County, New York. It was built in 1874 and is a rectangular brick building with a mansard roof with slate shingles. It is three stories tall, five bays wide and eleven bays deep. It features an unusual number of cast iron architectural details including the water table, quoins, window labels, balustrade, towers, and chimney. The building was originally built by Acton Civill (1804-1889) to house a polytechnic institute. In 1899, the local board of education purchased the building and used it for instructional purposes until 1963.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

The complex includes the farmhouse (1837), hay barn (1878), corn crib (c. 1870), smoke house (c. 1840), tenant house (c. 1830), small barn (c. 1870), and shed / chicken coops (c. 1870). The farmhouse is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-by-three-bay, gable-fronted, side hall plan Greek Revival–style dwelling with south and east wings added.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

It was built about 1830 and is a two-story, rectangular, heavy timber frame Greek Revival style dwelling. It features a projecting center entry bay and a single story porch. It has a rubble stone foundation and a broad, overhanging gable roof. Also on the property is a contributing smoke house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
