Little Tey

Marks Tey Brickpit is a 29.5-hectare (73-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Marks Tey in Essex. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site has a record of pollen throughout the Hoxnian interglacial around 400,000 years ago, and this is the best vegetational record for any British interglacial site. Seasonal layers in lake sediments have made it possible to estimate the duration of the Hoxnian. Clay deposited in the lake is quarried at a brickworks on the site, and this exposes layers above the Hoxnian ones of a later colder period. There is also a Grade II listed early nineteenth-century bottle kiln and brick tile works on the site.The site is overgrown apart from a small area used for brick making. It is private land with no public access, but a small area, which is now a field, can be seen from Marks Tey railway station car park.

St Andrew's Church is a Church of England parish church in the Essex village of Marks Tey. It was Grade I listed in 1965.Its nave was built around 1100, using coursed walls of mixed rubble, puddingstone and Roman bricks, possibly from an undiscovered villa in the area. Its chancel was rebuilt around 1330, with a sedilla, a piscina, a mid or late 14th century chancel arch and a blocked-up doorway to a former rood screen. The current west tower and small spire are 16th century but may represent a rebuild of one from the later 14th century. Its base is of brick and rubble and the upper two-thirds of timber. The south porch is also 16th century, whilst the font cover is early 17th century. The whole building was restored in the 19th century.

Skye Green is a hamlet at the north the civil parish of Feering, and in the Braintree district of Essex, England. The hamlet is situated between the village of Feering, 1 mile (1.6 kilometres) to the south, and the Coggeshall hamlet of Surrex, 1⁄2 mile (800 metres) to the north. Nearby settlements include Langley Green, Broad Green and Stocks Green. Skye Green includes Home Farm, Cockerell's Farm and Shoulder Hall. The hamlet contains two Grade II listed buildings: Cockerell's Farmhouse (c.1700) with Bakehouse (c.1800), and The Old Cottage which dates to the 17th century.

Surrex is a hamlet in the civil parish of Coggeshall, and the Braintree district of Essex, England. The hamlet is at the junction of the A120 road and a minor road (Old Road) to the village of Feering, and is 1 mile (1.6 km) east from the small market town of Coggeshall. Surrex largely comprises modern housing development and a small retail and business area. Surrex was previously in the civil parish of Feering, and from 1854 in the ecclesiastical parish of Great Tey. In 1933, commercial listings for the hamlet in Feering included a farmer, a beer retailer, and a threshing machine proprietor.In 2014, following road safety concerns, particularly those expressed by local MP Priti Patel, Surrex settlement entry signs were placed on the A120. The signs caused some initial confusion and ridicule from local people and councillors, however, a later report stated that the signs were seen as being successful in reducing traffic speed.A former public house, from 2008 The Queens Head (previously named "The Surrex Inn, the American Pilot, the East Anglian Roadhouse and the Porterhouse Inn"), closed in 2011 and became derelict. The building, then owned by a Chinese investor, was destroyed by fire in August 2017.

Marks Tey railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line (GEML) in the East of England, serving the large village of Marks Tey, Essex. It is 46 miles 49 chains (75.02 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and on the GEML is situated between Kelvedon to the west and Colchester to the east. Marks Tey is also the southern terminus of the Gainsborough Line to Sudbury. Its three-letter station code is MKT. The "up" (London-bound) platform 1 has an operational length for nine-coach trains, the "down" (Colchester-bound) platform 2 can accommodate 11-coach trains and platform 3 (for the Sudbury branch) has an operational length for two-coach trains.The station was opened in 1843 by the Eastern Counties Railway. It is located on Station Road, just off the A120 road that runs through the village, parallel to the railway. The station is currently operated by Greater Anglia, who also operate all trains serving it, as part of the East Anglia franchise.

Easthorpe is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Copford, in the Colchester district, in the county of Essex, England. Easthorpe is on an old Roman road. Nearby settlements include the large town of Colchester and the villages of Marks Tey, Copford and Copford Green. The main A12 road and Marks Tey railway station are nearby. In 1931 the parish had a population of 113. On 26 March 1949 the parish was abolished and merged with Copford, part also went to Marks Tey and Messing cum Inworth.

Now Prested Hall is a Boutique Wedding and Events venue with Elemis SPA, Health Club, 20-bedroom accommodation, and Real Tennis & Padel Tennis. It is probably the only hotel in the world with 2 courts of Real tennis, the original game of tennis whose origins can be traced to the 14th century. It is a Grade II listed building.

Feering is a village and civil parish in the Braintree district of Essex, England. The parish is between Colchester and Witham. The village, which lies at the south-west edge of the parish, is conjoined to the neighbouring village of Kelvedon. Within the parish are the hamlets of Stocks Green, Skye Green and Langley Green.
