Apliu Street

Sham Shui Po District is one of 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is the poorest district in Hong Kong, with a predominantly working-class population of 405,869 in 2016 and the lowest median household income of all districts. Sham Shui Po has long been home to poorer new immigrants from mainland China. It also saw the birth of public housing in Hong Kong, as the government sought to resettle those displaced by a devastating fire in its slums. Sham Shui Po also hosted a Vietnamese refugee camp during the influx of migration in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. The district covers the Shek Kip Mei, Sham Shui Po, Cheung Sha Wan, Lai Chi Kok, Kowloon Tsai, So Uk, Un Chau, Tai Wo Ping and Yau Yat Chuen areas of New Kowloon, and Stonecutters Island of Kowloon.

Sham Shui Po (Chinese: 深水埗; Cantonese Yale: Sāmséuibóu) is an MTR station located in Sham Shui Po, New Kowloon, Hong Kong. The station is located under Cheung Sha Wan Road between Cheung Sha Wan and Prince Edward stations on the Tsuen Wan line. Sham Shui Po's colour is dark green. The station has an island platform arrangement which serves two tracks.

Shia Wong Hip Limited (Chinese: 蛇王協有限公司) is a restaurant specialising in snake dishes located on Apliu Street in Sham Shui Po, New Kowloon, Hong Kong. Founded in 1965 by Chau Xiang, the restaurant specialises in snake soup and serves Cantonese cuisine made from exotic animals such as wattle-necked softshell turtles, crocodiles, geckos, silkworms, and seahorses. Dishes served include "fried snake balls", "barbecued snake", "glistening snake skin casserole", "dark golden-brown fried snake meat", "stir-fried crocodile meat", and "snake gall bladder wine". Shia Wong Hip stores hundreds and sometimes thousands of live snakes in wooden drawers. It has a cobra in a cage visible from the storefront. The restaurant purchases its snakes from mainland China, Indonesia, and Malaysia and supplements its income by selling snakes to restaurants and snakeskin to factories that make wallets, shoes, handbags, and belts. Originally located on Nam Cheong Street, Shia Wong Hip was moved to Apliu Street in the 1970s. Chau Xiang's daughter, Chau Ka Ling, in 1971 started working at the restaurant from age 13 and took over the business in 1991 after her father died. She runs it with her two younger brothers. The Hong Kong government has recognised Chau Ka Ling as the only woman snake-catcher in the region, which earned her the name "Snake Queen".

Pei Ho Street (Chinese: 北河街; Cantonese Yale: bak1 ho4 gaai1) is street in Sham Shui Po, New Kowloon, Hong Kong. The street is also a market and full of hawkers. The former Urban Council had built a Pei Ho Street Municipal Services Building (then known as Pei Ho Street Urban Council Complex) accommodating some stalls in the old market. Low economic profile and height limit of buildings on airway of former Kai Tak Airport helps Pei Ho Street to preserve buildings on the earliest planned town of Sham Shui Po in Western Kowloon. The style of Ke Lau (騎樓), balcony with two front pillars, once popular in colonial Hong Kong prior to World War II are easily found on the street. The end of the Pei Ho Street was the former Sham Shui Po Ferry Pier. The pier was an important ferry pier from 1920s to 1970s. Thousands of commuters took ferry to Central on the Hong Kong Island.

Sam Tai Tsz Temple and Pak Tai Temple (Chinese: 深水埗三太子及北帝廟) is a complex of two temples in Nos.196 and 198, Yu Chau Street, Sham Shui Po, New Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is a place of worship dedicated to both Deities, Sam Tai Tsz and Pak Tai. The Sam Tai Tsz Temple is graded as Grade II historic building, while the Pak Tai Temple is a Grade III historic building. The interior of the complex can be explored with Google Street View.

Fuk Wa Street (Chinese: 福華街; Cantonese Yale: fuk1 wa4 gaai1) is a street in Cheung Sha Wan and Sham Shui Po, New Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Yen Chow Street (Chinese: 欽州街) is a main street in Sham Shui Po of New Kowloon in Hong Kong. The street runs from hill side towards the shore. It spans from Castle Peak Road to Sham Mong Road. Its extension Yen Chow Street West (欽州街西) spans further to the reclamation shore.

The Sham Shui Po District Council is the district council for the Sham Shui Po District in Hong Kong. It is one of 18 such councils. The Sham Shui Po District Council currently consists of 25 members, of which the district is divided into 25 constituencies, electing a total of 25 members. The last election was held on 24 November 2019.

Dragon Centre is a nine-storey shopping centre in the Sham Shui Po area of Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was the largest in West Kowloon until the Elements opened above the Kowloon MTR station.

Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education (HKNYC) is a private higher education provider in Hong Kong. The College was founded in 1969 as the Hong Kong Buddhist College (HKBC), and changed its name in 2014 when it was granted accreditation from the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) for its associate degree programmes. The College is a registered nonprofit organisation.In 2014 the Education Bureau, and the Chief Executive approved the application by the College to use the moniker Hok Yuen (學院) as part of its official name. The NYC features are small class size and scholarships and bursaries are provided to students. All NYC programmes have been accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). In the next few years, NYC will offer more bachelor's degree Programmes to the Hong Kong community, covering fields such as Human Resources Management, Banking and Financial Services, Social Work and Applied Psychology. A Master in Buddhist Studies programme is also part of this plan. NYC owns two campuses. The campuses house Lecture Theatres, an Exhibition Hall, Classrooms, Computer Laboratories, a Music Room, a Dance Room, a Student Common Room, a Fitness Room, a Table Tennis Room, a Student Activities Room as well as a Sky Garden. The Library has around 200,000 items, among which 170,000 are electronic books. Equipped with 200M internet and Web 2.0 technology. Overseas and/or local workplace experience will be arranged for students. Running for 4 to 8 weeks, it will take place in the summer. The College subsidizes students who participate in the overseas internship programmes.

VISTA (Chinese: 海峯) is a private housing estate in Fuk Wa Street, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon, Hong Kong, near Sham Shui Po station. Being one of the tallest buildings in Sham Shui Po area, it consists of one residential building with a total of 173 units. It was jointly developed by Sino Land and Urban Renewal Authority in 2009.

Sham Shui Po Police Station situated at the junction of Lai Chi Kok Road and Yen Chow Street, Sham Shui Po. It was built in 1924 with three storeys. It is graded as Grade III historic building.The police station is adjacent to former Sham Shui Po Camp and later Dragon Centre.
