Caldecote, Huntingdonshire

Denton and Caldecote – in Huntingdonshire (now part of Cambridgeshire), England – is a civil parish near Glatton south west of Yaxley. The parish was formed on 1 April 1935 from "Caldecote" and "Denton".

Denton is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of Denton and Caldecote, in Cambridgeshire, England. Denton lies approximately 11 miles (18 km) north-west of Huntingdon. Denton is situated within Huntingdonshire which is a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire as well as being a historic county of England. Denton has approximately 12 houses. In 1931 the parish had a population of 76.All Saints' Church in Denton, substantially rebuilt 1629–1671, but with 12th- and 13th-century elements, was abandoned in the early 1960s and is currently in a ruinous state. It is largely the result of rebuilding campaigns of 1629 and 1665 by the antiquary, Sir Robert Cotton, 1st Baronet, of Connington (1571-1631) and his grandson, Sir John Cotton, 3rd Baronet (1621-1702). However, the roofless church and tower remain Grade II listed and occasional services and events are held within. In 2024, the Diocese of Ely has plans for conversion to a house.

Folksworth and Washingley is a civil parish near Peterborough in Cambridgeshire, England, comprising the villages of Folksworth and Washingley.The parish was formed following the combination of the two separate parishes of Folksworth and of Washingley between 1931 and 1951.

Folksworth lies approximately 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Peterborough, just off the A1(M). Folksworth is situated within Huntingdonshire which is a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire as well as being a historic county of England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 120.

Morborne is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England. Morborne lies approximately 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Peterborough, near Yaxley. Morborne is situated within Huntingdonshire which is a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire as well as being a historic county of England. Morborne is a very small village occupying 1205 acres, of which most is arable farmland. The population in 1991 was 43, down from a peak of 122 people in 1851. Local landmarks include Manor Farm, which opens annually each Spring for "Lambing Sunday", and the Church of All Saints. The population at the 2011 Census remained less than 100 and was included in the civil parish of Folksworth and Washingley.

It lies in the non-metropolitan district of Huntingdonshire, which is part of Cambridgeshire as well as being a historic county. A World War II airfield (RAF Glatton) built nearby is now known as Peterborough's Conington Airport.

Norman Cross was a rural district in Huntingdonshire from 1894 to 1974. It was formed in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894 from the part of the Peterborough rural sanitary district which was in Huntingdonshire (the rest forming part of Peterborough Rural District). It was named for the historic Norman Cross hundred. It was expanded in 1935 by taking in Elton from the disbanded Oundle Rural District, and Sibson cum Stibbington, which had previously been administered in Barnack Rural District based over the border in the Soke of Peterborough. In 1965 the Soke and Huntingdonshire merged to form Huntingdon and Peterborough. In 1974 the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972. Most of the district went on to form part of the Huntingdonshire district in the non-metropolitan county of Cambridgeshire, except that some areas in the north which were part of Peterborough New Town became part of Peterborough.

Norman Cross is a hamlet in the Huntingdonshire district of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies south of Peterborough, between the villages of Folksworth, Stilton and Yaxley, and at the junction of the A1 and A15 roads. Traditionally in the county of Huntingdonshire, Norman Cross gave its name to one of the hundreds of Huntingdonshire and, from 1894 to 1974, to Norman Cross Rural District. The hamlet is situated partly in the civil parish of Folksworth and Washingley, west of the A1, and partly in Yaxley parish, to the east.Norman Cross was the site of one of the earliest purpose-built prisoner-of-war camps, Norman Cross Prison, and a memorial to the prisoners who died there was erected in 1914 and relocated in 2005. It takes the form of a bronze imperial eagle on a column, and is grade II listed.

Norman Cross Prison in Huntingdonshire, England, was the world's first purpose-built prisoner-of-war camp or "depot", built in 1796–97 to hold prisoners of war from France and its allies during the French Revolutionary Wars and Napoleonic Wars. After the Treaty of Amiens the depot was emptied of prisoners and, in 1816, largely demolished. Haddon is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England. Haddon lies approximately 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Peterborough city centre, near to Chesterton and Yaxley. Haddon is situated within Huntingdonshire which is a non-metropolitan district of Cambridgeshire as well as being a historic county of England. From 1927 to 1937 the Rev Frank Buttle was rector of Chesterton with Haddon and Alwalton.
