William Howard Taft National Historic Site

Mount Auburn Historic District is located in the Mount Auburn neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. It extends along both sides of Auburn Avenue roughly between Ringold Street and William H. Taft Road. The population of Mount Auburn was 4,904 at the 2010 census.The District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 28, 1973 (No. 73001464). Mount Auburn was founded as a hilltop retreat for Cincinnati's social elite where wealthier people could escape the dirt, heat, smoke and crowded conditions of the lower city. Ornate historic mansions with incredible panoramic views still reflect this heritage. The district contains notable houses of Federal, Greek Revival, Italian Villa, Romanesque Revival, and Georgian Revival styles. The houses date from 1819 to the turn of the century and are associated with the prominent Cincinnatians. Noted residents include President William Howard Taft.

Hopkins Park is a small 0.895-acre (0.362 ha) urban park in the neighborhood of Mt. Auburn, Cincinnati, Ohio.The land was donated by merchant Lewis C. Hopkins on January 18, 1866 on the condition that the park "forever be kept free of buildings, and ... should be tastefully laid out and planted with trees and shrubbery".

The Henry Powell House is a historic house in the Mount Auburn neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Constructed in the mid-19th century, it experienced a radical transformation near the end of the century under the direction of a leading regional architect. This French-style residence has been named a historic site. William Powell established a Cincinnati metalworking firm in 1846 under the name of "Powell Valve and Brassworks Company". Among his sons was Henry Powell, who became wealthy enough to finance the construction of a larger and more ornate house. This residence, the present house, was constructed in 1858. At the time of construction, Powell's home was a Greek Revival structure, greatly different in appearance from its present form. Its structure was profoundly modified in an extensive reconstruction of 1882, performed according to a design by leading Cincinnati architect Samuel Hannaford; by replacing the old roof with a mansard roof and adding a wooden porch, Hannaford destroyed the original Greek Revival styling and replaced it with the Second Empire exterior that remains today.: 5  The Powell House was reconstructed during Hannaford's longest period of independent practice: his reputation solidified by his design of Music Hall, Hannaford operated without partners from 1877 until 1887.: 11  During this time, he produced many buildings in various Victorian architectural styles.: 3 Today, the Powell House is a brick building with stone foundation and a slate roof, plus additional elements of brick and wood. Three stories tall, the facade is divided into three bays, with the wooden porch extending across the entire width of the first story. More decorations are present on the porch than on any other sections of the exterior, due to components such as an exceptional balustrade and an unusually flat mansard roof featuring a cornice with dentils; the structure comprises similar sides that differ substantially from the central section.In 1973, much of Mount Auburn was designated the Mount Auburn Historic District and added to the National Register of Historic Places. The historic district embraced both sides of Auburn Avenue throughout the neighborhood, and the Powell House was considered important enough to the district's integrity that it was designated a contributing property.: 5  Although it was already part of the district, the house was added to the Register again in 1980, this time by itself; it was part of a group of dozens of buildings designed by Samuel Hannaford, nominated as a multiple property submission due to their place as examples of the work of the most important architect to practice in nineteenth-century Cincinnati.: 10

It is sometimes considered to be part of the Pill Hill neighborhood.

Glencoe–Auburn Hotel and Glencoe–Auburn Place Row Houses is a registered historic district in Cincinnati, Ohio, listed in the National Register of Historic Places on December 10, 2003. It contains 54 contributing buildings. The complex was originally constructed between 1884 and 1891, by a Jethro Mitchell.

The Jacob D. Cox House is a historic residence located on Gilman Avenue in the Mount Auburn neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. An Italianate structure built in 1880, it was the home of prominent politician Jacob Dolson Cox. A native of Montréal in Lower Canada, Cox settled in Ohio in the 1840s, served in the Ohio Senate from 1859 to 1861, and later served as the United States Secretary of the Interior during the Grant administration. A resident of Gilman Avenue from 1883 to 1897, Cox held office as the president of the Toledo, Wabash and Western Railway and as the dean of the University of Cincinnati's law school. His two-year service as president of the University of Cincinnati occurred during his residence at the house, which concluded upon his retirement to Oberlin, Ohio.Cox's house is similar to many others constructed in Mount Auburn during the third quarter of the nineteenth century, at which time it was a suburban neighborhood. A two-story brick building, it features a rear gable and a hip roof over the main part of the house, plus various details of stone. Because of its historically distinctive architecture, and because of its connection to Cox, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Gorham A. Worth House is a historic residence in the Mount Auburn neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Located atop a hill along Auburncrest Avenue, the house was built in 1819 in a version of the Federal style of architecture.Gorham A. Worth purchased rural property northeast of the village of Cincinnati in 1818. He had settled in Hamilton County one year previously, having been named the cashier of the Cincinnati branch of the Bank of the United States. By the end of the following year, he had constructed the present two-story frame structure. Composed of a central structure, wings on each side, and a rear ell, the house features a large, five-bay porch around its entrance; among the distinctive elements of this porch are wooden columns crafted in the Tuscan order. The design of the main entrance closely resembles that of the grand Baum-Taft House in Lytle Park, which was constructed in the following year. Among the Worth House's later residents were the family of a locally prominent man, Robert McGregor; he was the namesake for a nearby street, McGregor Avenue, and he was of sufficient social status that his daughter was able to meet Albert, Prince of Wales, during his mid-century visit to the United States. After the McGregors, the house was home to the family of Guy Ward Mallon, a significant figure in the history of Ohio's political structure; he was responsible for introducing the Australian ballot into Ohio elections, for pioneering the effort to reorganize Cincinnati's city charter, and for writing a popular guide to elections.One of the first houses to be built on Mount Auburn, the Gorham A. Worth House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It qualified for inclusion on the Register because of its well-preserved historic architecture, which was deemed to be significant throughout Ohio.

God's Bible School and College is a Bible college in Cincinnati, Ohio, founded in 1900. It is of the Wesleyan-Arminian (Methodist) tradition.

Jackson Hill Park is a Cincinnati park located in the neighborhood of Mt. Auburn, purchased by the city in 1930. The park is owned and operated by the Cincinnati Park Board. In 1983 the park received new landscaping and facilities, including a picnic shelter.

On July 19, 2015, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Samuel DuBose, an unarmed black man, was fatally shot by Ray Tensing, a white University of Cincinnati police officer, during a traffic stop for a missing front license plate and a suspended driver's license. Tensing fired after DuBose started his car. Tensing stated that DuBose had begun to drive off and that he was being dragged because his arm was caught in the car. Prosecutors alleged that footage from Tensing's bodycam showed that he was not dragged, and a grand jury indicted him on charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter. He was then fired from the police department. He was released on bond before trial. A November 2016 trial ended in mistrial after the jury became deadlocked. A retrial begun in May 2017 also ended in a hung jury. The charges against Tensing were later dismissed with prejudice.

The Church of Our Saviour, located at 65 East Holister Street in the Mount Auburn neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio. The parish's historic stone church was built in 1877 in the Gothic Revival style. Our Saviour was founded by wealthy residents of the once-affluent suburb of Mount Auburn, about 1 mi (1.6 km) north of downtown. Cincinnati annexed Mount Auburn in 1849.The congregation has, in recent generations, worked for social justice and since the early 1970s, the Church of Our Saviour has also been intentionally open and affirming towards its gay and lesbian members. For 20 years, Cincinnati's Metropolitan Community Church used facilities at the church for worship and other activities. Recently the congregation has reached out to the Latino community, offering bilingual Mass and services to communities of recent immigrants. The first Head Start program in Mount Auburn began at the church, as did the Mount Auburn Community Council, the Bethany House (a shelter for homeless mothers and children) in the Rectory, and AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati (AVOC). The church draws active members from as far away as Dayton, Ohio and Northern Kentucky.

Prospect Hill Historic District is located on a hillside outside of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Mount Auburn neighborhood of Cincinnati. Prospect Hill is bounded by the following streets, Liberty, Sycamore, Boal and Highland. Prospect Hill is sometimes called locally "Liberty Hill".The District is bordered to the north by the Mount Auburn Historic District and the Pendleton neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine to the south.
