The South Country Central School District is a district of approximately 16 square miles (41 km2) located in southern Brookhaven Town, in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The district serves the entirety of the Village of Bellport and the hamlets of North Bellport and Brookhaven, along with parts of East Patchogue, Shirley, Yaphank, and Medford.

Smith-Rourke House is a historic home located at East Patchogue in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1837 and is a large two story, five bay, generally square dwelling that measures approximately 32 by 40 feet. The house features a low sloping hipped roof of tin with a central cupola and cross gables on all four sides, characteristic of the Italianate style. It also features a profusion of heavy, bold Greek Revival style ornamentation. Also on the property is a small carriage shed.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

These family run businesses get community support through the Bellport Chamber of Commerce. Bellport is also home to the Gateway Playhouse, a professional summer theater in operation since 1950. Bellport is in the town of Brookhaven and is on the south shore of Long Island adjoining Great South Bay. It is officially known as the Fullshale Village of Bellport.

WLID (1370 AM) is a radio station licensed to Patchogue, New York. Established in 1952 as WALK, the station broadcasts a Spanish language Christian radio format. WLID broadcasts at 500 watts by day. Because radio waves travel farther at night, the station reduces power to 102 watts at sunset to protect other stations on 1370 AM. WLID's transmitter is located at the former WALK studios on Colonial Drive in East Patchogue, New York.

Swan Lake Park is located on East Main Street, East Patchogue, in the township of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York. Swan Lake is nestled between Swan Lake drive on the west side of the lake and Lake drive to the east of the lake. The park has a variety of Long Island ducks, swans, birds, fish, etc., and a natural flowing lake that empties into the Swan River. The park has a small community civic house on the lake which is overseen by the Swan Lake Park Civic Association. Local resident feed the many species of ducks that make this lake their home.

Bellport Village Historic District, formerly known as the Bell Street Historic District, is a national historic district located at Bellport in Suffolk County, New York. Located within the district is the separately listed Bellport Academy. It also includes the Village Hall, Bellport Community Center, the former fire house, and a museum/exchange shop built in 1890, as well as other structures. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Bellport Academy is a historic school building located at Bellport in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1833 as the village's first school and remodeled in 1919. It is located within the Bellport Village Historic District.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and currently survives as a private residence.
