Wichita State University

Wichita State University Campus of Applied Sciences and Technology (WSU Tech and previously the Wichita Area Technical College) is a public community college in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It was known as the Wichita Area Technical College before its affiliation with Wichita State University. WSU Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, coordinated by the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR), and governed by the Sedgwick County Technical Education and Training Authority Board (SCTETA). WSU Tech operates four different campuses throughout the metropolitan area of Wichita. Its main campus is the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT).

The Lowell D. Holmes Museum of Anthropology began in 1966 as the Museum of Man, at the bequest and initiation of Dr. Lowell Holmes, Professor of Anthropology at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, United States. Over the next 33 years it grew slowly and became known throughout the campus as a small but interesting museum. The collections and exhibitions include cultural items from around the world and archaeological objects predominantly from the American Midwest and Southwest. In 1999, the anthropology department and the museum moved to a new location in Neff Hall. The museum was expanded and Mr. Jerry Martin was hired as Director. This was the first time that the museum had a professional director whose only job was to work with, and develop the museum. Martin's concept was to have the museum essentially run and operated by students as part of their museum studies training. He raised funds to hire student staff to run the day-to-day operations of the museum under his supervision. As of the fall semester of 2006, the museum has the funds to hire five student positions. The museum has a wide range of functions. It has exhibitions open to the public, houses a rapidly expanding collection, a support unit for the anthropology department and faculty of Wichita State University, a research facility for students, a repository for United States Government archaeological collections, and the basis for a growing museum studies program. These different functions provide a very wide range of experience for the student staff.

Cessna Stadium is a 24,000-seat stadium on the campus of Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It opened in 1946 and served as the home of the Wichita State Shockers track and field team until 2020 and the football team until the program was discontinued in 1986. The Kansas Board of Regents approved demolition of the stadium in April 2020. In September of 2022, The Kansas Board of Regents approved the plan for a new, roughly $51 million stadium to replace the current facility. This project will be done in phases, and is expected to be completed sometime during 2025.

The Edwin A. Ulrich Museum of Art is a museum located on the campus of Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. The museum opened on December 7, 1974 in McKnight Art Center, where it is still located today. It is best known for the large Venetian glass and marble mosaic by Joan Miró found on the facade of the building, titled Personnages Oiseaux, a 28-by-52-foot (8.5 by 15.8 m) mural on 80 panels. It is also well known for the large Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection of 80 works across 330 acres, which was named Top Ten among campus sculptures in 2006 by Public Art Review. The sculpture collection includes works by Fernando Botero, Andy Goldsworthy, Lila Katzen, Joan Miró, Claes Oldenburg, Tom Otterness, Auguste Rodin, Sophia Vari, Elyn Zimmerman, and Francisco Zuniga. The Outdoor Sculpture Collection is part of the museum's permanent collection, which contains approximately 6,500 objects. The full collection is searchable online through the Ulrich Museum Collection Portal. The museum's permanent collection includes works by Benny Andrews, Diane Arbus, Barkley Hendricks, Nan Goldin, Zhang Huan, Sol LeWitt, Joan Mitchell, Gordon Parks, Kara Walker, and Andy Warhol, among many others. The collection also contains large groups of works by a number of artists, including Lee Adler, Minna Wright Citron, Gordon Parks, Marian Stephenson Patmore, and Harry Sternberg.

Charles Koch Arena is a 10,506-seat multi-purpose arena in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is located on the southeast corner of 21st and Hillside on the campus of Wichita State University in northeast Wichita. The arena is home of the Wichita State Shockers men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball teams.

Eck Stadium is a baseball stadium in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is located on the south side of 21st Street between Hillside and Oliver on the campus of Wichita State University in northeast Wichita. The stadium is home of the Wichita State Shockers baseball team. It has played host to the Shockers in rudimentary form since 1978, and as a complete stadium since 1985. Officially called Eck Stadium, Home of Tyler Field it is sometimes informally referred to as Eck. The stadium, which has gone through numerous upgrades since its original completion, currently seats 7,851. This number does not include the Coleman Outfield Hill which can seat hundreds more.

The Fairmount Congregational Church in Wichita, Kansas is a historic church at 1650 N. Fairmont. It was built in 1910 and added to the National Register in 2006.It is Richardsonian Romanesque in style. When it was built in 1910, its south wing incorporated an earlier church on the site, the Mayflower Congregational Church, which had been built in 1887 and had been moved to this site in 1907.

Wesley Medical Center, located in Wichita, Kansas, is an acute-care center licensed for 760 beds and 102 bassinets. The medical staff of 900 physicians and 3,000 employees provide a full range of diagnostic and treatment services for patients from throughout Kansas and northern Oklahoma. Every year, more than 25,000 adults and children are inpatients and more than 6,000 babies are born at Wesley. The center was founded in 1912 by the Methodist Church, but has been part of HCA Healthcare since 1985.An unrelated organization, Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has 211 licensed beds and is owned by Triad Hospitals, Inc.

Northeast Heights is a neighborhood in Wichita, Kansas, United States. A mixed commercial and residential area, it is located in the northeastern part of the city.

On 16 January 1965, a U.S. Air Force Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker crashed in the central United States, in a neighborhood in Wichita, Kansas, near McConnell Air Force Base. This resulted in the deaths of all seven crew members on board the aircraft and an additional twenty-three people on the ground.This accident is the deadliest aviation disaster to occur in Kansas. It is also the second-deadliest aircraft accident in the United States involving victims on the ground, after the Green Ramp disaster in 1994, which killed 24 people on the ground.

KZCH (96.3 FM), also known as "Channel 963," is a Mainstream Top 40 radio station serving the Wichita area. The iHeartMedia, Inc. outlet broadcasts with an ERP of 50 kW and is licensed to Derby, Kansas. Its studios are located on East Douglas Avenue in Downtown Wichita, and the transmitter is just north of downtown.

The Allen House (also known as the Henry J. Allen House and the Allen–Lambe House) is a Prairie Style home in Wichita, Kansas, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1915 for former Kansas Governor Henry Justin Allen and his wife, Elsie.
