Riverside Christian School, founded in 1973, is a private Christian school in Yakima, Washington for preschool through 12th Grade students. Riverside Christian School is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International and Washington Federation of Independent Schools.

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) is a private osteopathic medical and health professional school in Yakima, Washington. The university focuses on educating health care professionals to serve "rural and medically underserved communities throughout the Northwest". Founded in 2005, the university's inaugural program was the first new medical school to open in the Pacific Northwest in sixty years. PNWU grants the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree and graduated its first class of physicians in May 2012. Since then, PNWU has continued to expand and now includes the School of Physical Therapy (SOPT), School of Occupational Therapy (SOT), and a School of Dental Medicine (SDM).

The Yakima Area Arboretum (46 acres) is an arboretum in Yakima, Washington on a site adjoining the riparian habitat of the Yakima River. In the 19th century, today's site was a wetland. It was later developed for chicken and vegetable farms, and eventually acquired by the Yakima Metro District. In 1967, the arboretum was established and initial work began. Development has continued ever since. The arboretum currently includes over 1,000 native and exotic species of woody plants, as well as a herbarium and a variety of gardens (butterfly, rose, iris, Japanese, perennial, dryland, and Xeriscape.

Terrace Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Yakima County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,244 at the 2020 census. It is essentially a suburb of the city of Yakima.

KBBO (1390 AM) is a radio station licensed to Yakima, Washington, United States; the station serves the Yakima area. It carries a sports talk format. The station is currently owned by Stephens Media Group.

Yakima Meadows was a horse racing track located in Yakima, Washington. The track closed in 1998 after 37 years of operation. It is a one-mile (1.6 km) dirt oval with seating for about 3,500 fans.

Birchfield is an unincorporated community in Yakima County, Washington, United States, located between Terrace Heights and Moxee. The community was founded in 1910 by the North Yakima and Valley Railway Company, and was named after a local landowner, W. A. Burchfield. The name later became Birchfield as a result a misspelling resulting from poor penmanship.

The Central Washington State Fair is a state fair in Yakima County, Washington, United States held annually in September. The fair is held in Yakima, Washington at the State Fair Park. The fair was first held in 1892.

Yakima County Stadium is a baseball park in the northwest United States, located in Yakima, Washington. Opened 31 years ago in 1993, it succeeded Parker Field and was the home field of the Yakima Bears minor league team for twenty seasons. It is the current home of the Yakima Valley Pippins collegiate wood-bat team of the West Coast League and has a seating capacity of 2,800. At the northwest corner of the Central Washington State Fairgrounds, it is north of the Yakima SunDome, separated by a parking lot. The elevation of the natural grass playing field is just under 1,050 feet (320 m) above sea level, and it is aligned (home plate to center field) north-northeast. Singer Bob Dylan played the venue during his Never Ending Tour in 2010 on September 3. In 2013, Pacific Baseball Ventures, LLC were granted ownership of the Yakima Valley Pippins baseball team of the West Coast League. In 2014, the Pippins will fund a $100,000+ renovation to the stadium.

The Yakima Valley SunDome is a 6,195-seat multi-purpose arena in Yakima, Washington, United States. Located on the Central Washington State Fairgrounds, it hosts sporting events, ice shows, horse shows, circuses, boxing and concerts, as well as trade shows and conventions. The stadium opened on January 16, 1990, and cost $14.8 million to construct. The building was designed by architecture firm Loofburrow & Associates.The building features a 90-foot (27 m) dome and was the second in the world to use a concrete sectional roof design (24 segments), the first being Seattle's Kingdome. It has 56,000 square feet (5,200 m2) of space and can accommodate two basketball courts laid end-to-end. The SunDome initially had 5,200 permanent seats with expanded capacity of up to 8,000 for concerts.

Valley Mall is a regional enclosed shopping mall located in Union Gap, Washington, serving the Yakima area. It is the region's sole indoor mall and has 55 stores, anchored by: Sears, Kohl's and Macy's (formerly The Bon Marché). The mall is located on Interstate 82 and is adjacent to outdoor shopping centers called Valley Mall Plaza, Washington Plaza, and Frontage. Collectively, the property has 80 retailers. The Valley Mall opened in 1972, under the ownership of engineering firm Morrison-Knudsen. It was purchased in 1980 by First Union Real Estate Investments for $8.9 million and later sold to Center Oak Properties in 1999. The mall was expanded by 260,000 square feet (24,000 m2) in 2002, siphoning major retailers and customers from the Yakima Mall in the city's downtown. The Yakima Mall closed in 2003.The mall's Sears store closed in December 2022 but reopened the following year.
