ALYN Hospital

Yeshivat Har Hamor (Hebrew: ישיבת הר המור); is a Religious Zionist yeshiva in Har Homa, Jerusalem, founded in 1997 as an offshoot of Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav. The president of the yeshiva is Rabbi Zvi Thau, and the Rosh yeshiva - head of the yeshiva - is Rabbi Amiel Sternberg. There are around 850 students. Many of the students are married ("avrechim"), and the average student age is higher than at most Religious Zionist yeshivas. The name means "mountain of myrrh", based on Song of Songs 4:6, a phrase which in the Jewish tradition refers to the Temple Mount. The word "Hamor" is also an acronym for "Hemshech [= continuation of] Mercaz HaRav".

Carem or Karem is a place mentioned in the Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Bible as being a town situated in the hill country of the tribe of Judah, while the Masoretic Text and Vulgate do not mention the name (see Joshua 15:59).

The Church of Saint John the Baptist is a Catholic church in Ein Karem, Jerusalem, that belongs to the Franciscan order. It was built at the site where Saint John the Baptist is believed to have been born.In 1941–42 the Franciscans excavated the area west of the church and monastery. Here they discovered graves, rock-cut chambers, wine presses and small chapels with mosaic tiling. The southern rock-cut chamber contained ceramic datable to a period stretching from approximately the first century BC till 70 AD, an interval that includes the presumed lifetime of Zechariah, Elizabeth and John. The community living here has been dated by the archaeological findings back to the Roman, Byzantine and Early Muslim periods.Most of the current church structure probably dates back to the 11th century, with the lower courses possibly dating to the Byzantine period (4th-7th century).

The Garden of the Righteous Among the Nations (Hebrew: גַן חֲסִידִי אוּמות הָעוֹלָם) is part of the much larger Yad Vashem complex located on the Mount of Remembrance in Jerusalem. Along with some two dozen different structures within the Yad Vashem memorial – which is the second most-visited destination in the country after the Western Wall – the Garden of the Righteous is meant to honor those non-Jews who during the Holocaust risked their lives to save Jews from extermination by the Nazis. The Garden was designed by landscape architects Lipa Yahalom and Dan Zur after a decision to construct a memorial where the names of the Righteous Among the Nations would be perpetuated. A most serene site of impressive simplicity, integrated into the natural surroundings of the forested hill, the Garden consists of a series of walls creating open rooms, where the names of all the Righteous who had no trees planted in their honor are engraved in alphabetical order on the walls according to their countries of origin. By the time the Garden was dedicated on August 7, 1996, close to 14,000 Righteous had been honored by Yad Vashem. Since then new names are being added every year. In 2011, the Garden was expanded and new walls were constructed.The entire site receives one million visitors annually.

The Jerusalem Forest is a municipal pine forest located in the Judean Mountains on the outskirts of Jerusalem. It is surrounded by the neighborhoods of Beit HaKerem, Yefe Nof, Ein Kerem, Har Nof and Givat Shaul, and a moshav, Beit Zeit. The forest was planted during the 1950s by the Jewish National Fund, financed by private donors.

Jerusalem Metropolitan Park is a 43-kilometer park being developed around the city of Jerusalem. The plan for the park includes bicycle paths, hiking trails, picnic areas and cafes. The Jewish National Fund is upgrading natural and historical sites to make them accessible to the general public. The park will extend over 1,500 hectares of land, incorporating the Arazim valley near Mevasseret Zion, Motza valley to the west, Refaim valley in the south.In 2011, a 5-kilometer bike trail was inaugurated in Emek Ha'arazim, part of a larger trail that will ring the city. It begins near the remains of a Crusader fortress and ends near Motza, off the main Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway.In 1906, Zionist pioneers purchased land in the Arazim valley, which makes up part of the park. Dov Klinger, a chemist, planned to build an olive oil soap factory there but his efforts were unsuccessful. In 1920, the site was resettled by eight families, who fled to Motza during the 1929 Palestine riots. All were murdered except for two children who managed to escape. One was nine-year old Mordechai Maklef, who became the third Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces. A memorial to the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers is located on a hill in the park. Sculptor Eliezer Weishoff designed a bronze US flag in the shape of a memorial flame with a piece of aluminum from the wreckage incorporated in the base. The names of the 2,779 victims are inscribed on the walls around the plaza.

Kolech (Hebrew: קוֹלֵךְ), also known as Kolech: Religious Women's Forum (Hebrew: קולך: פורום נשים דתיות), is an Israeli women's organization associated with Orthodox Judaism. The group's stance is aligned with Orthodox Jewish feminism and religious Zionism.

Yad Vashem (Hebrew: יָד וַשֵׁם; lit. 'a memorial and a name') is Israel's official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. It is dedicated to preserving the memory of the Jews who were murdered; echoing the stories of the survivors; honoring Jews who fought against their Nazi oppressors and gentiles who selflessly aided Jews in need; and researching the phenomenon of the Holocaust in particular and genocide in general, with the aim of avoiding such events in the future. Yad Vashem's vision, as stated on its website, is: "To lead the documentation, research, education and commemoration of the Holocaust, and to convey the chronicles of this singular Jewish and human event to every person in Israel, to the Jewish people, and to every significant and relevant audience worldwide."Established in 1953, Yad Vashem is located on the Mount of Remembrance, on the western slope of Mount Herzl, a height in western Jerusalem, 804 meters (2,638 ft) above sea level and adjacent to the Jerusalem Forest. The memorial consists of a 180-dunam (18.0 ha; 44.5-acre) complex containing two types of facilities: some dedicated to the scientific study of the Holocaust, and memorials and museums catering to the needs of the larger public. Among the former there are an International Research Institute for Holocaust Research, an archives, a library, a publishing house and the International School for Holocaust Studies; the latter include the Holocaust History Museum, memorial sites such as the Children's Memorial and the Hall of Remembrance, the Museum of Holocaust Art, sculptures, outdoor commemorative sites such as the Valley of the Communities, as well as a synagogue. A core goal of Yad Vashem's founders was to recognize non-Jews who, at personal risk and without financial or evangelistic motives, chose to save Jews from the ongoing genocide during the Holocaust. Those recognized by Israel as Righteous Among the Nations are honored in a section of Yad Vashem known as the Garden of the Righteous Among the Nations. Yad Vashem is the second-most-visited Israeli tourist site, after the Western Wall, with approximately one million visitors each year. It charges no admission fee.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Sion (French: Notre Dame de Sion Chapel, Hebrew: קפלת גבירתנו של שיאון) is a Catholic chapel located in an old building of the sisters of the Congregation of Our Lady of Sion in the western hill of Ein Karem, a neighborhood in the District of Jerusalem, Israel. The convent complex was inaugurated in 1860 and is managed by Catholic nuns since 1861. The temple is under the jurisdiction of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, which was established in its modern form in 1847 by Pope Pius IX.

A suicide bombing was carried out on 29 March 2002 by 18-year-old Ayat al-Akhras, who blew herself up at the entrance of the main supermarket in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Kiryat HaYovel, killing three people and injuring 28. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

Kerem Tunnel (Hebrew: מנהרת כרם, Minheret Kerem) is a cycling tunnel in southwest Jerusalem, Israel. It is currently the only one in Israel. The tunnel was originally built as a utility tunnel in the 1990s by Hagihon (Jerusalem's water company) to run a sewage pipe from the city's southwestern neighborhoods to the Sorek stream sewage treatment plant. The tunnel is 2.1 kilometers long and 3 meter wide. In 2018 the tunnel was officially declared part of the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycling route, connecting the path between the valley of Rephaim and the valley of Motza. The Tunnel's southern entrance is in the Rephaim Park, below Ein Lavan, and its northern entrance is in the valley of Ein Kerem, about half a kilometer from the Kerem junction. The tunnel was opened for cyclists in September 2022. During the 2023 Israel–Hamas war the tunnel was closed between October 7, 2023 until December 5, 2023.
