Valens, Ontario

The Westfield Heritage Village is a heritage centre located just west of Rockton, Ontario, Canada. The village contains over 30 historic buildings on a 3.4-square-kilometre (840-acre) site. It is operated by the Hamilton Conservation Authority.

Westover, Ontario is a hamlet west of Flamborough in Hamilton, Ontario. In the late 18th century the area was known as Donnybrook (distinct from Donnybrook, Ontario in Huron County). One of the first settlers was William Reid, who arrived in the area in 1798. He sold his land to John Westover in 1828. In 1830, Westover returned with his wife Lydia Havens to settle in Donnybrook. They were both Baptists. The town was likely named for him, since he had established a post office on his land and at his expense in 1835. In 1845, they established the Second Regular Baptist Church of Beverley, which is now the Westover Baptist Church.By 1869, it had saw, shingle, and grist mills and a blacksmith and wagon maker. The village had two general merchants, a teacher, physician, hotel operator, post master, and Rev. H. Smith was a minister of a Methodist Episcopal Church.

African Lion Safari is a family-owned safari park in Southern Ontario, Canada, straddling the cities of Hamilton and Cambridge, located 100 kilometres (62 mi) west of Toronto. Guests may tour seven game reserves, with a total area of about 740 acres (300 hectares), on tour buses or in visitors' own vehicles, where animals roam freely in contained areas. Accompanying the game reserves is a walking section where exotic birds and primates, as well as the park's herd of Asian elephants, are on display. African Lion Safari is an accredited member of the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and is also a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), the International Elephant Foundation (IEF) as well as the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE).

Beverley Township was a township established in 1792 in Home District in the then Upper Canada, today Ontario, Canada. It was named for the town of Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, by John Graves Simcoe.The township became part of Halton County when that county was created as part of Gore District in 1816. The township was also known as Beverly Township when it was transferred to Wentworth County in 1853. When the Regional Municipality of Hamilton–Wentworth was created in 1974, most of Beverley Township was absorbed by Flamborough, Ontario. The area is now part of the city of Hamilton.

Flamborough is a district and former municipality in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. For most of its existence before amalgamation with Hamilton in 2001, Flamborough comprised the former townships of East Flamborough, West Flamborough, and Beverly, as well as the village of Waterdown. The largest suburban community is the former village of Waterdown containing perhaps one third of its thirty thousand or so inhabitants. The Rockton World's Fair is an annual Thanksgiving weekend tradition in the community of Rockton, located in Hamilton, Ontario. It originated as the Beverly Agricultural Society Fair in 1852, and has been known as the World's Fair in Rockton or the Rockton World's Fair since 1878. Other nearby communities sending exhibits & speakers to the event include: Puslinch, Greensville, Carlisle, Freelton, Lynden, Rockton, Clappison's Corners, Millgrove, Christie's Corners, Sheffield, Copetown, Kirkwall, Valens, Mountsberg, Westover and Troy. No fair was held in 1917–18, 1942–44 nor 2020.

Sheffield (population 304) is a village and rural community in the single-tier municipality of Hamilton, Ontario. It is located just off Highway 8, on the municipality's boundary with the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. It is 10 kilometres from the city of Cambridge and 35 from Hamilton's downtown core. The village lay on the road between the two cities until 1959, when the Sheffield Bypass was completed. Ontario Highway 8 still follows the route of the bypass; the main street through Sheffield is now a 2.4 km section of municipal road known as Old Highway 8.Local institutions include Dr. John Seaton Public School, Sheffield United Church, Zion United Reformed Church, and Grace Covenant Church. Local organizations include the Sheffield Lions Club, the Clyde & Scott's Women's Institute, and Sheffield Minor Ball, which uses the Sheffield Ball Park. Located approximately two kilometres east of Sheffield is the Rockton Aerodrome, a private dirt airfield home to a local gliding club. The Sheffield Community Centre is located three kilometres south of the village in the former Pleasant Grove School. Located approximately three kilometres north-east of Sheffield is a major tourist attraction, the African Lion Safari.

Puslinch () is a township in south-central Ontario, Canada, in Wellington County, surrounding the south end of Guelph. The main source of production is agricultural, spring water bottling and mining. Aggregate mining has been dominant throughout the county. About half of the township is forested, and a conservation area lies to the southwest. Near the western edge of the township, just outside Cambridge, Ontario, is Puslinch Lake, the largest kettle lake in North America. It is part of the Guelph census metropolitan area. The township has its own strategic plan, with the current version dated 2015 to 2020. Its mission statement is "Progressing together to provide reliable and sustainable services to our residents, businesses and visitors. We will protect our resources while respectfully building upon our heritage as a safe, fun and prosperous rural community."

Flamboro Speedway is a 1/3-mile semi-banked asphalt short track motor racing oval, located twenty minutes northwest of Hamilton, in the rural community of Millgrove, Ontario, Canada. The track was established in 1962.

Flamboro Downs is a half-mile harness horse racing track in Flamborough, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It is also home to Flamboro Slots, which has a total of 808 slot machines.The racetrack was founded in 1971 by Charles Juravinski and acquired in 2003 by Magna Entertainment. In 2005, it was acquired by the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation.
