Carthay Circle Theatre

Carthay Circle is a neighborhood in the Mid-City West region of Central Los Angeles, California. Originally named Carthay Center, the neighborhood was later re-named after the famed Carthay Circle Theatre.

South Carthay is a neighborhood in Central Los Angeles, California. Located south of Carthay Circle, South Carthay was developed in the 1930s by Spyros George Ponty.

Holocaust Museum LA, formerly known as Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, is a museum located in Pan Pacific Park within the Fairfax district of Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1961 by Holocaust survivors, Holocaust Museum LA is the oldest museum of its kind in the United States. Its mission is to commemorate those who perished in the Holocaust, honor those who survived, educate about the Holocaust, and inspire a more dignified and humane world.

The Jewish Community Library of Los Angeles (JCLLA) was one of the largest Jewish free libraries in the United States. Founded in 1948 by the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, the Library was started to offer current and accurate information about the Jewish people. The Library housed over 30,000 items, including books, movies, and music. The JCLLA also housed archives of the early Los Angeles Jewish community, including manuscripts and photographs of people, organizations, and places. The Library was a department of the Bureau of Jewish Education, a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. The library was permanently closed in 2009.

Tom Bergin's Tavern is one of the oldest restaurant/bars in continuous operation in Los Angeles, California. Originally opened at 6110 Wilshire Boulevard in 1936 by lawyer Tom Bergin as The Old Horseshoe Tavern it has been at its current location at 840 South Fairfax Avenue, just south of Wilshire, since 1949. In previous years it has also been known as The Old Horseshoe Tavern and Kennel Club as well as Tom Bergin's Horseshoe Tavern and Thoroughbred Club. The restaurant and bar is considered by Angelenos as an institution.

San Vicente Boulevard is a major northwest-southeast thoroughfare located in the western portion of the metropolitan area of Los Angeles, CA. The boulevard begins at Venice Boulevard between Crenshaw Boulevard and La Brea Avenue and travels in a northwesterly direction towards Beverly Hills. The roadway splits into two streets past La Cienega Boulevard: the western branch becoming Burton Way, which eventually becomes South Santa Monica Boulevard and connects directly to downtown Beverly Hills. The northern branch remains as San Vicente Boulevard itself, passes Beverly Center, continues north into West Hollywood and becomes North Clark Street at Sunset Boulevard. A separate stretch of road with the same name runs from Santa Monica to Brentwood.

Little Ethiopia is located along South Fairfax Avenue, bordering the Mid-Wilshire and Pico-Robertson neighborhoods of central Los Angeles. It is known for its collection of Ethiopian (Ethiopian American) and Eritrean (Eritrean American) restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and thrift stores.The Little Ethiopia Cultural and Resource Center is located at 1045 South Fairfax Avenue.

The murder of Christopher Wallace, an American rapper better known by his stage names "the Notorious B.I.G." and "Biggie Smalls", occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 9, 1997. The hip hop artist was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, California. He was 24 years old. In 2006, Wallace's mother, Voletta Wallace, his widow, Faith Evans, and his children T'yanna Jackson and Christopher Jordan "CJ" Wallace, filed a $400 million second wrongful death lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) alleging that corrupt officers were responsible for Wallace's death. Retired LAPD Officer Greg Kading alleged that Marion "Suge" Knight, the head of Death Row Records, orchestrated the murder in revenge for the September 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur in a similar drive-by homicide by gunshot.

Johnie's Coffee Shop is a former coffee shop and a well-known example of Googie architecture located on the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, California. Architects Louis Armét and Eldon Davis of Armét & Davis designed the building, contributing to their reputation as the premier designers of Space Age or Googie coffee shops—including the landmark Pann's coffee shop in Ladera Heights, Norms Restaurant on La Cienega Boulevard, and several Bob's Big Boy restaurants.
