Rome is an unincorporated community in Daviess County, Kentucky, United States. It was also known as Clearys Grocery. Rome also has a Cemetery called Athey's Chapel Cemetery. Rome is also referred to as a subdivision located on Highway 81 just southwest of Owensboro.

Athey's Chapel Cemetery (also known as Rome Cemetery) is located in Rome, Kentucky. The cemetery has 70 interments, but many of the headstones are damaged and have weed overgrowth on them. The cemetery was probably founded in 1820.

Daymar College was a for-profit college based in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Founded in 1963 and operated as Owensboro Business College until 2001, Daymar College offered more than 35 career tracks in 22 different academic programs. Daymar College was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).

Apollo High School is a high school that is part of the Daviess County Public Schools district, located in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States. It was named after the Apollo Space Program, and opened in 1969 as a junior high school. It then converted into a high school in 1972 and held its first graduation in 1974. The school paper is named The Challenger, after the Space Shuttle Challenger. This school also has a marching band program called the Apollo Marching Eagles. Apollo has been involved in a 1-1 laptop project since August 2005, providing a laptop to every incoming freshman for their use during the school year.

Kentucky Wesleyan College (KWC) is a private Methodist college in Owensboro, Kentucky. Fall 2018 enrollment was 830 students.

The Owensboro Sportscenter is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Owensboro, Kentucky. It is the home of the basketball teams of Kentucky Wesleyan College and Owensboro Catholic High School. It has been the home to three minor-pro basketball teams, the Kentucky Bisons, the Kentucky Mavericks and currently, the Owensboro Thoroughbreds. In March 2016, the ECHL approved the relocation of the Evansville IceMen franchise to the Sportscenter, pending proposed renovations to the arena, and currently hoping to begin play in 2017. However, in August 2016, team owner Ron Geary still had not taken over management of the Sportscenter and the City of Owensboro announced Spectra would temporarily take over management of the Sportscenter on September 1 with a deadline for Geary set to September 30. If Geary has not begun management by the deadline, then Spectra will begin their own renovations and the agreement with the IceMen will be voided. On the September 30 deadline, Geary sent a letter to Owensboro mayor Ron Payne stating he would not be purchasing the Sportscenter because of too much cost to convert and refurbish the arena and Spectra became the official operators moving forward.The Kentucky Knights, a proposed indoor American football squad, was to begin play at the arena in 2016 as part of the new North American Indoor Football. However, the team had to make an ownership change in late 2015 and then attempted to join Supreme Indoor Football but the Knights were never able to field a team and the SIF failed to launch in 2016.

The Diocese of Owensboro (Latin: Dioecesis Owensburgensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in western Kentucky in the United States. As of 2020, the diocese contained of 78 parises and two Newman Centers in 32 counties. The Diocese of Owensboro is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Louisville. The current bishop, William Medley, was the pastor of Saint Bernadette Parish of the Archdiocese of Louisville prior to his consecration which took place February 10, 2010.

Yellow Banks, Kentucky, was the name of the rustic community founded by pioneer William Smeathers or Smothers around 1790 on the banks of the Ohio River. The name was derived from the yellowish banks along the river. In 1817, Yellow Banks became the established town of Owensborough, in honor of Col. Abraham Owen (also the namesake of Owen County in Kentucky).

Owensboro is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Daviess County, Kentucky, United States. It is the fourth-most populous city in the state. Owensboro is located on U.S. Route 60 and Interstate 165 about 107 miles (172 km) southwest of Louisville, and is the principal city of the Owensboro metropolitan area. The 2020 census had its population at 60,183. The metropolitan population was estimated at 116,506. The metropolitan area is the sixth largest in the state as of 2018, and the seventh largest population center in the state when including micropolitan areas.
