Lonsdale Road Reservoir (also the Leg of Mutton Reservoir or Leg o' Mutton Reservoir) is a disused reservoir in Barnes in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is an 8.2 hectare local nature reserve and Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade 1, owned and managed by Richmond upon Thames London Borough Council.

Barnes Baptist Church is a church in Lonsdale Road, Barnes in Richmond upon Thames, London. It is a member of the London Baptist Association.Barnes has had a Baptist church since 1866. The original chapel was located on Stanton Road. The church on the present site dates from 1934.Morning worship is held on Sundays at 11am. There are also occasional Sunday evening services.

The Swedish School in London (Swedish: Svenska Skolan i London) is an independent school and boarding school in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It consists of a nursery, primary school and secondary school (Swedish: förskolan och grundskolan) for pupils aged up to 16 years, located near St Paul's School in Barnes, London, and a sixth form (gymnasiet) for 16- to 18-year-olds, in Richmond, London, co-located with Richmond, The American International University in London. The sixth form of the school has three programmes: a science programme, and a social science programme focusing on civics and a business administration programme focusing on economics. The school was rated "Outstanding" in its most recent Ofsted independent school inspection report in February 2019.

Chiswick Lifeboat Station is a lifeboat station on the north bank of the River Thames at Corney Reach, Chiswick, in west London. It is one of the newest stations operated by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), and one of the first to cover a river rather than estuarial waters or the sea.

Chiswick Eyot is a 3.266-acre (1.3 ha) narrow, uninhabited ait (river island) of the Thames. It is a tree- and reed-covered rise on the Tideway by Chiswick, in London, England and is overlooked by Chiswick Mall and by some of the Barnes riverside on the far bank. It is the most downstream island purely in the Thames (as Canvey Island and two nearby islets in the lower estuary are co-fed by creeks and Sheppey is skirted by much flow from the Medway).

The Grade I listed building Walpole House is the largest, finest, and most complicated of the grand houses on Chiswick Mall, a waterfront street in the oldest part of Chiswick. Both the front wrought-iron screen and gate, and the back boundary wall, are Grade II listed. The house was started in the Tudor era, with internal features surviving from the 16th and 17th centuries; the river frontage was built around 1730. The 0.5 hectares (1.2 acres) garden is listed in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens. Among Walpole House's famous inhabitants have been Barbara Villiers, Duchess of Cleveland, mistress of King Charles II; Thomas Walpole; Daniel O'Connell; William Makepeace Thackeray; and Herbert Beerbohm Tree.

Chiswick Mall is a waterfront street on the north bank of the river Thames in the oldest part of Chiswick in West London, with a row of large houses from the Georgian and Victorian eras overlooking the street on the north side, and their gardens on the other side of the street beside the river and Chiswick Eyot. While the area was once populated by fishermen, boatbuilders and other tradespeople associated with the river, since Early Modern times it has increasingly been a place where the wealthy built imposing houses in the riverside setting. Many of the houses are older than they appear, as they were given new facades in the 18th or 19th century rather than being completely rebuilt; among them is the largest, Walpole House. St Nicholas Church, Chiswick lies at the western end; the eastern end reaches to Hammersmith. The street, which contains numerous listed buildings, partially floods at high water in spring tides. The street has been represented in paintings by artists such as Lucien Pissarro and Walter Bayes; in literature, in Thackeray's novel Vanity Fair; and in film and television, including in the 1955 Breakaway, the 1961 Victim, and the 1992 Howards End.

St Ann's Ground was a cricket ground at Barnes, Surrey (now in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames). In 1889 the Lyric Club played the Marylebone Cricket Club in a non first-class match. The only first-class match held at the ground came in 1890 when the Lyric Club played the touring Australians, which the Lyric Club won by 96 runs. The final important match at the ground, in 1892, was between the Lyric Club and the Marylebone Cricket Club. The ground was located within the grounds of St Ann's House, which in the early 1900s it was built over. The approximate location of the house today would be near Lyric Road and St Ann's Road, which are near the River Thames.

St Nicholas Church, Chiswick is a Grade II* listed Anglican church in Church Street, Chiswick, London, near the River Thames. Old Chiswick developed as a village around the church from c. 1181. The tower was built at some time between 1416 and 1435. The current church dates from 1882 to 1884, when most of the building except the tower was demolished and rebuilt at the expense of the brewer Henry Smith of the nearby Fuller, Smith and Turner brewery. Several monuments survive, mainly in the tower. In the churchyard is a monument to the Italian poet and patriot, Ugo Foscolo; his remains were returned to Italy, but the Italian government added an inscription to the monument. The painter William Hogarth's monument, near the church, has an epitaph by the actor David Garrick. In the burial ground is the grave of Frederick Hitch, Victoria Cross recipient and veteran of the Battle of Rorke's Drift.

Barnes High Street is a road running through the centre of Barnes in England. It is located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and is the high street of the suburb of Barnes featuring a number of commercial properties including shops and pubs. It is located a short distance from Barnes Bridge railway station. It runs from The Terrace in the north by the River Thames to Barnes Green where it forks with one route Station Road heading on south towards Barnes railway station and on the other Church Road curving eastwards towards St Mary's Church and onwards in the general direction of Putney. Notable buildings include the Grade II listed Rose House, dating back to the seventeenth century and The Bull's Head pub, which gained fame as a music venue in the twentieth century. Another pub, the Coach and Horses, is located nearby. Old Essex House is located just to the south of the junction with Station Road. The street is referred to in the 1907 novel The City of Pleasure by Arnold Bennett.
