Strathcona Centre was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting from 1959 to 1971.

The Terwillegar Park Footbridge is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. At 262 metres (860 feet) in length, it is the longest stressed ribbon bridge in Canada and second longest in the world after the David Kreitzer Lake Hodges Bicycle Pedestrian Bridge in Escondido, California, United States. The bridge is a first for the city and was built to connect Terwillegar Park in the southern side with Oleskiw River Valley Park on the north side of the river. It opened to the public on October 21, 2016.

The Centennial Garage is part of the Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) and is a targeted LEED Silver project. The bus garage was designed for the storage and maintenance of 250 regular and articulated buses as well as administration offices, dispatch and support spaces for staff. It is located at 15520 Ellerslie Road on the east side 156 Street SW in Edmonton, Alberta. This garage provides bus services to neighbourhoods in west, southwest, and downtown Edmonton. It is the first new garage to open in the City in 25 years.

Blackmud Creek is a creek in Edmonton that flows into Whitemud Creek. The creek starts at Saunders Lake East of Nisku and runs northwest into the City, joining Whitemud Creek in the neighbourhood of Twin Brooks. Blackmud Creek's name is an accurate preservation of its native Cree-language name kas-ki-te-oo asiski.

The Edmonton Alberta Temple is the 67th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The temple was the second to be built in Alberta; the first was built in Cardston in 1923. The temple serves about 15,700 members in the area. The exterior of the temple is white granite and has a single spire topped by a statue of the angel Moroni.

The Fort Edmonton Footbridge is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Led by CH2M Hill and designed by HFKS Architects, it is the city's first suspension bridge. The bridge is located southwest of Fort Edmonton Park and connects to the existing multi-use trail system with the new park land on the west side of the river. It officially opened on June 18, 2011.

Westbrook School is an elementary school located in Edmonton, Alberta Canada, operated by the Edmonton Public Schools board. It shares a field with Vernon Barford Junior High, it is said that most students do go to Vernon Barford for grades 7 -9. The school opened in January 1967; students selected for the school double shifted with Malmo school from September 1966 until construction was complete. The original 1966 school building was designed by the Massey medal-winning architect, Peter Hemingway. At first the school had junior high school grades because there was no suitable nearby high school. Early construction problems - in particular, an open plan central area with protruding electrical outlets, and a bridge outside the front door on which students sometimes enjoyed hanging - occasionally caused ambulances to be called. In 2010 "AMP" was called into action, the year after Shauna Paul became Principal. AMP Consists of Art, Music, and Phys.Ed which rotates around on a daily schedule. All students receive a time table, with their AMP Periods stated on. AMP is used as a practice for Junior High and High School when students will have to remember when and where they have classes. The school became one of four district sites for Academic Challenge, a program for gifted and talented children, in 1984.

Terwillegar Park is a municipal park in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that is part of the North Saskatchewan River valley parks system. The park is located on the east bank of the North Saskatchewan River, and features a large off-leash area, mountain bike and hiking trails, as well as a spot to hand launch canoes into the river.

Edmonton-Whitemud is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada. In 1989, its constituents unseated the Premier of the day, Donald Getty, by voting for Liberal candidate Percy Wickman. The district was represented by Dave Hancock who was in his fourth term as the Member of the Legislative Assembly. Hancock has also served as Minister of Justice twice, Attorney General and prior to that as Minister of Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs. On December 15, 2006, Hancock was made Minister of Health and Wellness in Premier Ed Stelmach's cabinet. He later served as Deputy Premier under Stelmach's successor Alison Redford. Following Redford's resignation as Premier, Hancock was named as her replacement and sworn into office on March 23, 2014, meaning the Edmonton-Whitemud district was the seat of the Premier of Alberta for the second time.

The Edmonton Radial Railway Society (ERRS) restores and operates historic streetcars in Fort Edmonton Park and across the High Level Bridge. It is named after the Edmonton Radial Railway, which began service in 1908 and later became Edmonton Transit Service.

The 1996 du Maurier Classic was contested from August 1–4 at Edmonton Country Club. It was the 24th edition of the du Maurier Classic, and the 18th edition as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. This event was won by Laura Davies.
