The Museum of the Earth is a natural history museum located in Ithaca, New York. The museum was opened in 2003 as part of the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI), an independent organization pursuing research and education in the history of the Earth and its life. Both PRI and the Museum of the Earth are formally affiliated with Cornell University. The Museum of the Earth is home to Earth science exhibits and science-related art displays with a focus on the concurrent evolution of the Earth and life.

Northwest Ithaca is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tompkins County, New York, United States. The population was 1,115 at the 2000 census.

Hayt's Chapel and Schoolhouse consists of a historic church and a historic school building located at Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York. The chapel is a small rectangular frame gable roofed structure constructed in 1847 and measuring approximately 20 feet by 40 feet. The structure features a number of Gothic Revival details. There is a small entrance vestibule added sometime in the 1930s or 1940s when the building was converted for school use. In 1996, the Town of Ithaca honored the location with a historic marker. The buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The hospital has 204 beds in total, and is one of the largest hospitals in the Finger Lakes region and the Southern Tier.In 2014, the hospital announced its partnership with Schuyler Hospital, another not-for-profit general hospital in nearby Montour Falls, New York and the creation of an umbrella organization for the two hospitals, the Cayuga Health System.

Coreorgonel was an 18th-century Native American village in what is now Tompkins County, New York. The name has been translated as "Where we keep the pipe of peace."In the mid 18th century, a group of Tutelo, a Siouan-speaking people, migrated north from their homelands in Virginia to seek the protection of their former enemies, the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). The Cayuga adopted the Tutelo and a related tribe, the Saponi, in 1753. The Tutelo built the village of Coreorgonel with about 25 to 30 homes, near the present-day junction of state routes 13 and 13A along the Cayuga Inlet, just south of Ithaca.In 1779, a detachment of the Sullivan-Clinton Expedition under Colonel Henry Dearborn, tasked with wiping out Native opposition to the American Revolution, burned the village and displaced the inhabitants. Many of the survivors fled north to Canada with the Cayuga. The site is now the location of Ithaca's Tutelo Park.

The Hangar Theatre is a non-profit, regional theatre located at 801 Taughannock Boulevard in Ithaca, NY. Its mainstage season and children's shows occur during the summer, but the Hangar, and other organizations, utilize the space year-round for special events. The tenets of the Hangar's mission statement are to enrich, enlighten, educate and entertain.

Allan H. Treman State Marine Park is a 91-acre (0.37 km2) state park and marina located in the City of Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York, United States. The park is located at the south end of Cayuga Lake, one of the 11 Finger Lakes of New York. The park's namesake, Allan Hosie Treman (1899-1975) was a Cornell University law professor, Ithaca city counsel, and member of the Finger Lakes Park Commission. He is the son of Robert H. Treman, who also has a state park named in his honor.
