Texas State Technical College – Waco

James Connally Air Force Base was a United States Air Force base located north of Waco, Texas. After its closure in 1968, the airport reopened as TSTC Waco Airport.

TSTC Waco Airport (IATA: CNW, ICAO: KCNW, FAA LID: CNW) is a public use airport located eight nautical miles (9 mi, 15 km) northeast of the central business district of Waco, a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States. Before 1968, it was known as James Connally Air Force Base. The airport is owned by Texas State Technical College. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2021–2025, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.The facility is currently used as an industrial airpark operated by Texas State Technical College System for their aviation programs, and is noted for being the largest airport in the United States owned by an educational institution.

Northcrest was a city in north central McLennan County, Texas (USA). The city's name came from its location (six miles) north of Waco and its elevation, which is the highest in the Waco area. Northcrest was incorporated as a city in February 1958 with a mayor–council form of government. The city's population was 625 in 1960. By 1970, that figure had risen to 1,669 as it developed into a primarily residential community with an economy heavily dependent on nearby cities. In the late 1980s, Northcrest was home to approximately 2,200 residents. That number fell to 1,725 by 1990. Northcrest merged with the neighboring city of Lacy Lakeview in 1998.

Lacy Lakeview is a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 6,988 at the 2020 census. The city's name is sometimes spelled with a hyphen (as Lacy-Lakeview), but the official spelling omits the hyphen.

La Vega High School is a public high school located in the city of Bellmead, Texas, United States and classified as a 4A school by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). It is a part of the La Vega Independent School District located in central McLennan County and also includes students from Waco. When the school opened, only white students were allowed to attend. In 1970, federally mandated integration caused African-American students from Carver High School to be rezoned to La Vega. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Bellmead is a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 10,494 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. The word Bellmead means "Beautiful Autumn Valley" and was the name given to the region by its native inhabitants.

La Vega Independent School District is a public school district based in Bellmead, Texas (USA). The district is located in central McLennan County and serves the city of Bellmead and parts of Waco. "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

The Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative is a science research facility. It is the first, and cornerstone, facility of a 21-acre discovery complex that is expected to evolve into the Central Texas Technology and Research Park. Originally a General Tire manufacturing facility, the building and surrounding area are due to be renovated to provide 300,000 square feet of physical space for labs, research centers, industry collaborative space and workforce training.

Greenwood Cemetery is a cemetery in Waco, Texas. It was racially segregated for its entire history as a burial place, starting with its origins in the 1870s. It is one of the two oldest cemeteries in Waco along with Oakwood Cemetery. Because of the poverty of many people buried there, some of the graves were marked with wood or random objects rather than stone, or are unmarked. It contains a mass grave of 1918 influenza epidemic victims.

George Washington Carver High School was a public secondary school in the La Vega Independent School District in Waco, Texas. It served as the high school for black students from 1956 until the public schools were integrated in 1970.
