Mortonsville is an unincorporated community in Woodford County, in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

Airy Mount, near Versailles, Kentucky, is a historic Georgian house dating from 1796. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.It is notable for its mural painted by French immigrant "Alfred Cohen, who left Marseilles, France, with two brothers in the 1820s and settled in Midway, in the northeast corner of Woodford County. The three houses concerned are the only ones known anywhere to have been painted with murals by Cohen, a primitive artist who had little, if any, formal training. Although these landscape scenes show disregard for correct scale and perspective, they possess charm through the artist's lack of inhibitions."It is a "substantial residence, built in several stages, .. located one mile north of McCowan's Ferry Road in rural Woodford County. Appropriately named, the house is situated on the summit of a low, wide rise, and has a commanding view of the gently rolling landscape in all directions. The earliest portion, constructed ca. 1796, includes the western three bays of the central two-story block."The other two houses with Cohen murals are Wyndehurst and Pleasant Lawn, both also NRHP-listed.

Woodford County is part of the Lexington-Fayette, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located in the center of the Bluegrass region of Kentucky.

The Bluegrass Railroad and Museum is a railroad museum and heritage railroad in Versailles, Kentucky, United States. Operating out of the Woodford County Park, the Railroad offers 11-mile round trip excursions through the horse farms of Kentucky to Tyrone, Kentucky where the train stops at Young's High Bridge and allows passengers to disembark and view Young's High Bridge and the Kentucky River valley area. The railroad uses diesel locomotives, of which it has four operational and two for static display. It also has about 40 pieces of rolling stock. Equipment is stored in three separate locations along the museum's 5.5 miles of track, all of which can be seen while riding the excursions from the Woodford County Park to Young's High Bridge.

The Big Spring Church, located at 121 Rose Hill St. in Versailles in Woodford County, Kentucky, USA, was built in 1819. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.It is 47 by 32 feet (14.3 m × 9.8 m) in plan and has three bays on its front and five bays along its sides.It was built as a Baptist meeting house, at the head of a ravine holding the spring after which it is named.

The John Allen House, off Kentucky Route 169 in Woodford County, Kentucky near Keene, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The listing included two contributing buildings.It is an early dry stone hall-parlor plan house believed to have been built c.1790 by John Allen, who received a 1,000 acres (400 ha) grant in 1780 in what was then Virginia, due to his father's military service in 1763. John Allen was an American Revolutionary War soldier from Fauquier County, Virginia.A stone wing added c.1810 includes a Federal-style mantel.

It lies 13 miles (21 kilometers) by road west of Lexington and is part of the Lexington-Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. Versailles has a population of 9,316 according to 2017 census estimates. It is the county seat of Woodford County. The city's name is pronounced vər-SAYLZ, an anglicization different from the French pronunciation of the royal city of the same name near Paris.

The Carter House, at 110 Morgan St. in Versailles, Kentucky, was built in 1792. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.It is a two-story brick L-shaped house built in the first year or so from when the town was platted. Its front section was built before 1816.The listing included one contributing buildings and one contributing structures.

Pinckard is an unincorporated community in Woodford County, Kentucky, United States. Pinckard is located on Kentucky Route 169 southwest of Lexington and south of Versailles.

The Cleveland House is located in Versailles, Kentucky. Originally the Cleveland Orphan Home, it was an orphanage that incorporated in 1869, remaining in operation until the 1950s. The original 1875 house was made of brick in classic revival style architecture. The current structure was built in 1926, a 2½-story Dutch Colonial Revival building on the main foundation of the earlier house.The current building is home of The Woodford Inn, a 10-room bed and breakfast inn. Prior to becoming The Woodford Inn, it was The Cleveland Home, a residential facility for girls through age 17, until its closure in 2005. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Lexington Extension of the Louisville Southern Railroad, in Anderson and Woodford counties near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.The listing included the no-longer-actively-used portion, about 8.25 miles (13.28 km), of the 22 miles (35 km) Lexington Extension, which was built in 1889 by the Louisville Southern Railroad. The listing included seven contributing structures. This portion is between Lawrenceburg and Versailles and includes the Young's High Bridge and the Cedar Brook Viaduct, as well as three wooden trestle bridges.
