Zuidwijk is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It was located southeast of the center of Boskoop. Zuidwijk was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1846, when it became part of Boskoop.Since 2014 Boskoop has been a part of Alphen aan den Rijn.

The D'Oliphant, also written as De Oliphant, was commissioned in 1591 by Cornelis van Wijkcool as "boerenbehuizinge" built near Nieuwesluis on the island Voorne. Oliphant translates into "Elephant" although the current spelling of the Dutch word is Olifant. The octagonal tower part of the house was probably designed to give the allure of a knight homestead and to suggest that the owner belonged to an ancient and noble family. The house was moved in 1975 and is now located at the Kromme Zandweg 90 in the district of Charlois in Rotterdam.

Rotterdam Ahoy (formerly known as Ahoy Rotterdam or simply as Ahoy) is a convention centre and multi-purpose indoor arena located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Opened originally in 1950, the current complex consists of three main venues: a fairs and event hall, a congress and conference centre, and the Ahoy Arena. The latter (informally known as the Sportpaleis, lit. 'Sport Palace') opened on 15 January 1971 and is the largest venue, with a capacity of 16,426 as of April 2019.

The station opened on 9 February 1968, on the same date that the North-South Line (also formerly called Erasmus line), of which it is a part, was opened. It served as the southern terminus of the line until 25 November 1970, when a one-station extension to Slinge was opened. Zuidplein station is located immediately adjacent to a large shopping centre of the same name. Rotterdam Ahoy, a large indoor arena, is also within walking distance of the station. A bus station is located directly underneath the metro station, providing access to local bus services.
