Brisbane Roar Women Football Club, formerly known Queensland Roar Women, is an Australian professional women's football club based in Brisbane, Queensland (founded in 2008). The Roar competes in the country's premier women's soccer competition, the A-League Women.

The 2008–09 W-League Grand Final was the grand final of the inaugural season of the W-League, the premier league of football (soccer) in Australia. Top of the table in the regular season Queensland Roar hosted home-and-away third-placed Canberra United FC at Ballymore Stadium in Herston, Brisbane in the Saturday 17 January 2009 season decider. In a closely contested match, the Roar defeated United 2–0. Both the Roar's goals were scored in the first half of the match.

The 2009 season was the Brisbane Roar's second season of football (soccer) in Australia's women's league, the W-League.

Spencer Park (currently known as Corporate Travel Management Stadium) is a football stadium located in the suburb of Newmarket, north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is home to Football Queensland Premier League team Brisbane City FC. The stadium, while officially holding 10,000, seats only 3,000 under the grandstand, the Gino Merlo Stand. The grandstand is mainly concrete steps with a small number of seats in the middle of the stand. There are also corporate boxes at the back of the grandstand. There are 4 entrances to the grandstand, 2 on each end and 2 in the middle, which are directly above the home and away changing room tunnels. The entrances are locked on FQPL matches. Brisbane City charge for stadium entry at the gates, ($2 children $5 adult $10 family). There is also concrete steps for seating below the terrace outside the clubhouse. The stadium opened in 1963 on the site of an old Brisbane City Council waste disposal site, and underwent a major renovation in 1981 with the construction of the Gino Merlo Stand. The stadium is home to La Rustica restaurant, where traditional Italian foods, including pizza, are served.

Holloway Field (officially Viticon Stadium, formerly Onehub Stadium, powered by Optus) is baseball stadium in Newmarket, Queensland, Australia. It is the home to the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League and Windsor Royals baseball club in Newmarket, Queensland, Australia.

The electoral district of Kelvin Grove was a Legislative Assembly electorate in the state of Queensland. It was first created in a redistribution ahead of the 1923 state election, and existed until the 1960 state election.Kelvin Grove replaced part of the former Electoral district of Enoggera.Kelvin Grove was abolished in 1960, replaced mainly by the Electoral district of Ashgrove.

The Brisbane Olympic stadium is a planned multi-purpose stadium to be built in Victoria Park, Brisbane to serve as the Olympic Stadium for the 2032 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 63,000-seat stadium is expected to host the ceremonies and athletics events during the Games. Following the conclusion of the Olympics and Paralympics, it will replace the Gabba as Brisbane's main Australian rules football and cricket stadium, becoming the new home grounds of the Brisbane Lions of the Australian Football League, the Queensland Bulls in domestic cricket, and the Brisbane Heat of the Big Bash League and Women's Big Bash League. The stadium development is part of the 2032 Delivery Plan, announced to the public on 25 March 2025 by the Crisafulli government. It falls within the A$7.1 billion funding envelope set aside for 2032 Games infrastructure.
