The Mob Museum, officially the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is a history museum located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Opened on February 14, 2012, the Mob Museum is dedicated to featuring the artifacts, stories, and history of organized crime in the United States, as well as the actions and initiatives by law enforcement to prevent such crimes. The museum is housed in the former Las Vegas Post Office and Courthouse, which was built in 1933 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum is located on Stewart Avenue, two blocks north of Fremont Street, the main artery of the downtown casino district.Developed under the creative direction of Dennis Barrie, co-creator of the International Spy Museum and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the museum is governed by a non-profit board, the "300 Stewart Avenue Corporation," in partnership with the City of Las Vegas. The museum is dedicated to the contentious relationship between organized crime and law enforcement within the historical context of Las Vegas and the entire United States.

Las Vegas City Hall was the center of municipal government for the City of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is located downtown, with its main entrance on Stewart Avenue. It is cited as an example of 1960s modern architecture. The original eleven-story central tower was completed in 1973. An addition was completed in 2003 which included a three-story surround to the central tower. The addition includes additional office space, a parking deck, and a sky bridge to connect the parking deck to the structure. The addition won the American Institute of Architects Nevada Citation award in 2003.In November 2010, online retailer Zappos.com announced it would buy and use the building as its new company headquarters.

The Diocese of Las Vegas (Latin: Diœcesis Campensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in the southern Nevada region of the United States. It comprises the Counties of Clark, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Nye, White Pine and is governed from the City of Las Vegas. The Bishop of Las Vegas has his liturgical and canonical seat (cathedra) at the Guardian Angel Cathedral. The See of Las Vegas is a suffragan diocese of the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of San Francisco. Other suffragan sees include the Dioceses of Honolulu, Oakland, Reno, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Jose, Santa Rosa, and Stockton. The Bishop of the Diocese of Las Vegas is The Most Reverend George Leo Thomas. On February 28, 2018, Pope Francis appointed Thomas as the third bishop of the diocese. The episcopal installation of Bishop Thomas was celebrated on May 15, 2018.

Gold Spike (formerly Gold Spike Hotel & Casino) is a bar, lounge, residential building, and former boutique 112-room, seven floor hotel. It is connected with the Oasis at the Gold Spike, a 50-room three floor hotel located in downtown Las Vegas. It was owned by entrepreneur Tony Hsieh and his Downtown Project, having bought it from The Siegel Group; and the casino was operated by Golden Gaming. Hsieh closed the casino on April 14, 2013. After a three-week remodel, Gold Spike re-opened the casino as a restaurant and bar on May 6, 2013. The hotel portion of the building was recently converted into permanent and temporary workforce housing for Downtown Project, entrepreneurs, and Zappos; Oasis hotel is a separate building on the same property.

Real World: Go Big or Go Home is the thirty-first season of MTV's reality television series Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras document their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is the fourth season to be filmed in the Mountain States region of the United States, specifically in Nevada after The Real World: Las Vegas (2011). The season featured a total of eight (initially seven) people who lived in a penthouse suite in Downtown Las Vegas and follows a twist from the previous two seasons. Las Vegas was first reported as the location for the 31st season by the website DTLV.com on September 15, 2015. It is the third season of Real World to be filmed in Las Vegas and the ninth season to take place in a city that had hosted a previous season, following the twelfth and twenty-fifth seasons, which aired in 2002–03 and 2011, respectively. Production began on October 9, 2015, and concluded on December 16, 2015 totaling up to 70 days of filming.On January 13, 2016, Entertainment Weekly reported that the season will be titled Go Big or Go Home. An additional twist is that it features the cast members performing Road Rules-type missions in order to remain on the show. Unlike Road Rules, some missions will be individual-based, some will involve a portion of the group, and some will be team-based. The season premiered on March 17, 2016, and concluded on May 26, 2016, with the season finale, consisting of 12 episodes; it is the first season of the series to premiere simultaneously on MTV and the MTV app's livestream.

The Clark Avenue Railroad Underpass, also known as the Bonanza Underpass, is a bridge and underpass in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The bridge is so named since at the time of construction it crossed Clark Avenue which was later renamed to Bonanza Road. The underpass is currently part of Nevada State Route 579.

The California Hotel and Casino (also known as The Cal) opened in 1975 at a cost of $10 million with a hotel and casino located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada near the Fremont Street Experience. When it opened it had 325 rooms which has since been expanded to 781.The California has been owned by Boyd Gaming since it was built by Sam Boyd.After facing slow business initially, Boyd soon began focusing on the Hawaiian market, offering Hawaiian food and encouraging a more casual atmosphere. He introduced vacation packages from the islands, with charter airfares as low as $9.90. An estimated 80-90% of visitors to Las Vegas from Hawaii stay at a Boyd property. Boyd's Hawaiian marketing, which extended to the Fremont and Main Street Station with their later acquisitions, is credited with helping to build a large Hawaiian community in Las Vegas, which is sometimes called "the ninth island".In 1989, the hotel designated the term Golden Arm, after Stanley Fujitake rolled dice for three hours and six minutes in craps without losing.In 1994 an additional tower was added and the remainder of the hotel was remodeled. The property is connected to Main Street Station by an enclosed walkway. A multimillion-dollar redesign and renovation was announced in December 2015, and was completed in December 2016. The project included three new openings: Holo Holo – The Happy Bar, the Cal Sports Lounge, and Redwood Steakhouse. A Hawaiian cuisine restaurant, Aloha Specialties, was renovated as well. By the time of completion, work had already begun on updating 435 guest rooms and 56 suites in the west hotel tower with new carpet, fixtures, and furniture. The hotel renovation was expected to be finished in early 2017.

The California Club operated from 1958 to 1973. Phil Long took over operation of the casino located at the corner of First and Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, 1958. The locals casino catered to local gamblers. It was owned and operated by Phil Long and partner George Milford and was a casino only without any hotel rooms. The California Club was sold to Steve Wynn in 1973. The California Club was combined into the Golden Nugget shortly after the purchase by Wynn. In 1963, Corky McCorquodale introduced Texas hold'em to Las Vegas at the California Club. The game became popular and quickly spread to the Golden Nugget, Stardust and Dunes.
