Moscow Surikov State Academic Institute of Fine Arts (Russian: Московский художественный институт имени В. И. Сурикова) is an art institute in Moscow, Russia.

Andronikov Monastery of the Saviour (Russian: Андро́ников монасты́рь, Спа́со-Андро́ников монасты́рь, or Андро́ников Нерукотво́рного Спа́са монасты́рь) is a former monastery on the left bank of the Yauza River in Moscow, consecrated to the Holy Image of Saviour Not Made by Hands and containing the oldest extant (i.e. outside the Kremlin) building in Moscow. It is home to Andrei Rublev Museum of Old Russian Art, named after the most famous monk of this abbey.

The Sakharov Center (Russian: Са́харовский центр) is a museum and cultural center in Moscow devoted to protection of human rights in Russia and preserving the legacy of the prominent physicist and Nobel Prize winning human rights activist Andrei Sakharov. It was founded by the "Public Commission to Protect the Legacy of Andrei Sakharov", an international non-governmental organization established in 1990 through the efforts of Sakharov's widow Yelena Bonner and other Sakharov's friends and colleagues.

Shkolnaya Street (Russian: Школьная улица, Shkolnaya ulitsa) in Tagansky District of Moscow, Russia connects Dobrovolcheskaya Street in the west with Rogozhskaya Zastava Square in the east. The street, a protected heritage area lined with two-storey 19th century buildings, is closed to through traffic and is a de facto pedestrian zone and a weekend market place. Historically it was known as First Rogozhskaya street, the main trading street of the former Rogozhskaya Yam sloboda, and acquired its current name, one of the most common in Soviet toponymy, in 1923.

Intercession (Pokrovsky) Monastery (Покровский монастырь) is a Russian Orthodox convent situated in Moscow, in the neighbourhood of Taganka. It was named after the Intercession of the Theotokos. The monastery has been known since 1635 and long remained a poor monastic abode outside the city proper, neighbouring a large cemetery for commoners. It was a filial monastery of the Zaikonospassky Monastery between 1680 and 1731.Much of the monastery is Neoclassical in design and dates from the early 19th century. The five-domed katholikon was erected in the mid-1850s to Mikhail Bykovsky's Byzantine Revival designs. It is dedicated to the Renewal of the Temple of the Resurrection in Jerusalem. The Soviets disbanded the brethren and had some of the walls torn down. The monastery was revived in 1994 as a stauropegic nunnery. It derives much of its popularity and income from the relics of St. Matrona of Moscow, a very popular saint.

M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov State Music and Pedagogical Institute (GMPI) is one of the leading musical educational institutions in Moscow. It implements programs of higher and secondary professional education.

Taganka Theatre (Russian: Театр на Таганке, Театр драмы и комедии на Таганке, «Таганка») is a theater located in the Art Nouveau building on Taganka Square in Moscow.

Marksistskaya (Russian: Марксистская) is a station of the Moscow Metro's Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya Line. It was opened along with the initial segment on 30 December 1979. The station is named after the Marksistskaya (Marxist) Street and its architectural theme is the purity of Marxist ideals. Architects Nina Alyoshina, V. Volovich and N. Samoylova took a standard deep level column tri-vault station (engineers Ye. Barsky, I. Zhukov and Yu. Muromtsev) and applied on overall red theme that includes red Burovshina marble to the columns and a pink Gazgan to the station walls. The spiral-shaped light fixtures symbolize "spiral development", a concept in dialectical materialism, the Marxist philosophical teaching.The station serves as a transfer point between the Taganskaya station of the Koltsevaya Line and the Taganskaya station of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line forming a busy three station transfer point. Transfer to the former is by the direct escalator from the end of Marksistskaya. The station is located on the eastern edge of the Taganka Square, and its underground vestibule is situated on the influx of the Taganskaya and Marksistskaya streets into the square with surface subway access available to both sides of the latter street and to the open plaza on the apex of their connection. It was the deepest station in Moscow Metro from 1979 until 1987.

Tagansky District (Russian: Тага́нский райо́н) is a district of Central Administrative Okrug of the federal city of Moscow, Russia, located between the Moskva and Yauza Rivers near the mouth of the latter. Population: 116,744 (2010 Census); 109,993 (2002 Census). The district takes its name from the former Taganskaya sloboda, where the copper-smiths lived in the 16th century. Tagan is the old Russian word for their product, a trivet to set a pot on (known in English as "brand-iron"). The modern center of the Taganka district is the Taganskaya Square, where the Taganka Theatre is located. The skyline is dominated by the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building, once the tallest skyscraper in the Soviet Union. The area contains a fine set of pre-Petrine parish churches, including the Athonite metochion and the Bolvanovka church. Apart from Taganka proper, the modern district includes other historic neighbourhoods such as Kulishki in the eastern Bely Gorod, Khitrovka, Solyanka, Krutitsy, and Rogozhskaya sloboda (the spiritual centre of Old Believers). Major sights include the 18th-century Foundling Home and at least three walled monasteries — the Andronikov, the Pokrovsky, and the Novospassky.

Krestyanskaya Zastava (Russian: Крестьянская застава) is a Moscow Metro station in the Yuzhnoportovy District, Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow. It is on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line, between Rimskaya and Dubrovka stations. Krestyanskaya Zastava was opened on 28 December 1995 as part of the first stage of the Lyublinsky Radius. Like its neighbour Rimskaya the station lacks an underplatform service areas and rests on a monolithic plate. At a depth of 47 metres the station is tri-vault wall-columned (i.e. the intercolumned space has been filled up to give extra strength). The architects Nikolay Shumakov and Nataliya Shurygina applied a Peasant Labour theme to the decoration which included a bright marble and aluminium layout of the station and decorative mosaics at the ends of the columns (artists N.Andronov and Yu.Shishkov). The floor is covered in checkered pattern of black and grey granite and the lighting is hidden in the niches of the vault. The station has one vestibule which is inter-linked with subways under the square for which the station is named. In 1997 a transfer was opened between the vestibule and the Proletarskaya station of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line.

Taganka Square or Taganskaya Square (Russian: Таганская площадь) is a city square at the south-eastern corner of the Garden Ring in central Moscow, formed in 1963 by merging two historic squares, Upper Taganka and Lower Taganka. In 1813 the district of Taganka was reconstructed by Joseph Bové, who built a market there. The most conspicuous landmarks are the lofty St Nicholas Church on Bolvanovka (1697-1712) and the Taganka Theatre. There is also a subway station, called Taganskaya.

Kurskaya (Russian: Ку́рская) is a Moscow Metro station in the Basmanny District, Central Administrative Okrug, Moscow. It is on the Koltsevaya line, between Komsomolskaya and Taganskaya stations, and opened on 1 January 1950.
