The Grand View Beach Railway was a scenic electric street railway along the shore of Lake Ontario from the village of Ontario Beach, a suburb of Rochester, to Manitou Beach.

Charlotte ( shar-LOT) is a neighborhood in Rochester, in the U.S. state of New York, located along the western bank of the mouth of the Genesee River along the southern shore of Lake Ontario. It is the home of the Port of Rochester and Charlotte High School.

The Charlotte–Genesee Lighthouse is an 1822 stone octagonal lighthouse in the Charlotte neighborhood in northern Rochester, New York, United States. The 40 ft (12 m) tower is located on Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Genesee River. It originally had 10 whale oil Argand lamps, which were replaced with a Fresnel lens in 1853.On February 28, 1881, the lighthouse was turned off. After nearby piers changed the mouth of the river, it was far from the water. The light was then moved to a pier in 1884.In 1965, Charlotte High School students started a letter writing campaign to save the lighthouse from impending destruction. It was declared surplus in 1981 by the government. It is now owned by Monroe County and managed as a museum by the Charlotte Genesee Lightouse Historical Society, a nonprofit volunteer organization. It is part of the Seaway Trail, a National Scenic Byway. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also a City of Rochester Landmark. It is open to the public. As of 2014, the lighthouse is active, and listed in the United States Coast Guard Light List as light number 2333.

The Genesee River ( JEN-iss-EE) is a tributary of Lake Ontario flowing northward through the Twin Tiers of Pennsylvania and New York in the United States. The river contains several waterfalls in New York at Letchworth State Park and Rochester. The river was historically used as a border between the lands of the Seneca to the east and the Erie and Wenro to the west. Later, the river provided the original power for the Rochester area's 19th century mills, and still provides hydroelectric power for downtown Rochester. Flooding occurred periodically in the river valley before construction of the Mount Morris Dam in the 1950s.

The Colonel Patrick O'Rorke Memorial Bridge is a bascule bridge in New York, United States, that connects the Rochester neighborhood of Charlotte to the town of Irondequoit. The bridge, located about 6 miles (10 km) north of downtown Rochester, is named for Civil War Colonel Patrick O'Rorke, who grew up in Rochester and led the New York 140th Infantry at the Battle of Gettysburg. He was killed in action assisting the defense of Little Round Top. The bridge carries Pattonwood Drive over the CSX Transportation-owned Charlotte Running Track and the Genesee River near its mouth at Lake Ontario. The movable part of the bridge is 243 feet (74 m) long, while the western approach is 148 feet (45 m) and the eastern approach is 530 feet (162 m). The O'Rorke Bridge replaced the Stutson Street Bridge, a smaller bascule bridge located about 250 feet (76 m) downstream. The current bridge carries four 11-foot (3 m) wide car lanes, as well as having two bike lanes and wide sidewalks, where the old bridge was only two lanes. The bridge was dedicated on October 2, 2004. It was maintained by Monroe County until November 26, 2007, when ownership of the structure was transferred to the state of New York as part of a highway maintenance swap between the two levels of government. It is now maintained by the New York State Department of Transportation as New York State Route 943F, an unsigned reference route.

Charlotte High School was a public high school in Rochester, operated by the Rochester City School District. The school is named for Charlotte, formerly an incorporated village in the Town of Greece and now a neighborhood in the city of Rochester. The school closed in June 2016.

Our Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church Complex is a historic former Roman Catholic church complex located at Greece in Monroe County, New York. The complex consists of the Romanesue Revival style brick church (ca.1858–1878) and the adjacent community cemetery (1823–ca.1900). The church was converted for use as a public library.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

St. Charles Borromeo Church is a Roman Catholic parish of the Latin Rite. It serves the Barnard neighborhood of Greece, New York in Monroe County. It is on the corner of Dewey Avenue and Maiden Lane. It was founded in 1925 by Bishop Hickey on the request of Leo Lawson and George Pearson, and it included 72 families at its founding, and the first parish Mass was Sunday, November 6, 1925 . Irondequoit High School (IHS) is a co-educational public school in Rochester, New York in the suburb of Irondequoit, New York. It was founded in 1924 as a part of the current West Irondequoit Central School District.

Arcadia High School is a public high school located in Greece, New York, serving grades 9–12. It is one of four high schools in the Greece Central School District. The school was built in 1963 and the new Arcadia Middle School was connected to it for the 1993 school year. Arcadia Middle School has the largest library in the district, which is shared by both the middle and high school. The mascot for the school is the titan.
