The Medellín River (Spanish: Río Medellín), called Porce River (Spanish: Río Porce) during most of its course, is a river that flows through the Colombian city of Medellín and its metropolitan area. For many years an organization called Mi Río (My River) was involved in river cleanup projects. For the river's first 60 kilometres (37 mi), it is referred to as the Medellín, and after that it is known as the Porce. It is a tributary of the Nechi River, which flows in turn into the Cauca River.Every year, the Christmas lighting of Medellín takes place on the Medellín River.

The Diocese of Caldas (Latin: Caldensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese in Colombia. The episcopal see is the city of Caldas. The Diocese of Caldas is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Medellín. The Bishop of the Diocese of Caldas is Juan Fernando Franco Sánchez.

La Catedral was a personal prison overlooking the city of Medellín, in Colombia. The prison was built to specifications ordered by Medellín Cartel leader Pablo Escobar, under a 1991 agreement with the Colombian government in which Escobar would surrender to authorities and serve a maximum term of five full years and the Colombian government would not extradite him to the United States.

La Estrella (English: "The Star"), also known as Ancón, is a station on line A of the Medellín Metro going south. It is located in the La Estrella municipality of Colombia. It was inaugurated on September 17, 2012 as part of the extension of the line from Itagüí in a ceremony attended by the current president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos; Governor of Antioquia, Sergio Fajardo; and Medellin Mayor Aníbal Gaviria.This station was designed as part of the larger project "Centrality South" for the metropolitan area to meet the needs of the inhabitants of southern Valle de Aburrá. Currently, it is the only semi-underground station.

Sabaneta is a municipality of Colombia, located in the Aburrá Valley of the Antioquia department. It is bordered on the north by the municipalities of La Estrella, Itagüí and Envigado, on the east by the municipality of Envigado, on the south by the municipality of Caldas, and on the west by the municipality of La Estrella. It is the smallest municipality in Colombia, with only 15 km². Sabaneta is a station on line A of the Medellín Metro going south. The station was opened on 17 September 2012 as part of the extension of the line from Itagüí to La Estrella. This station is known for having a more modern appearance than the other stations.

Itagüí is a station on line A of the Medellín Metro going south. It is named after the city where it is located, Itagüí. The station was opened on 30 September 1996 as the terminus of the extension of the line from Poblado. On 17 September 2012, the line was extended to La Estrella.In 2012, the second expansion of line A took place. Before the second expansion of the Medellín Metro, this was a terminal station for line A.

Estadio Polideportivo Sur is a multi-purpose stadium in Envigado, Colombia that is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 11,000 people and was built in 1992. Envigado FC play their home matches at this stadium.The stadium was renovated in 2009 to prepare for the 2010 South American Games held in Medellín. The renovations added a roof to the main section to protect the fans from weather and beautified the green areas outside the stadium.

The Coliseum of Itagüí (in Spanish Coliseo Cubierto de Itagüí) is a multi-use coliseum in Itagüí city, Colombia. It is currently used mostly for Futsal matches, on club level by Águilas Doradas. The coliseum has a capacity of 5,000 spectators.
