Waldoboro is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 5,154 at the 2020 census. Waldoboro was incorporated in 1773 and developed a reputation as a ship building and port facility from the banks of the Medomak River. The town's strong agricultural and fishing legacy continues today, with recently renewed enthusiasm for traditional natural fiber production, cheesemaking, farm brewing, fermentation, soapmaking, and other lost agrarian arts. Waldoboro is becoming a popular destination, with miles of scenic river frontage, a thriving arts community, and historical interest in its past as a German settlement.

The Col. Isaac G. Reed House, also known historically as Cutting's Folly, was a historic house at 60 Glidden Street in Waldoboro, Maine. Built in 1807, it was a sophisticated local example of Federal period architecture, with an unusual period bow-shaped room. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. It was destroyed by fire on April 2, 2017, and was subsequently removed from the register.

Devonshire County, Massachusetts was a short-lived county formed in 1674 during colonial territorial disputes between the Massachusetts Bay Colony and the Province of New York. The county existed from 1674 to 1675, and encompassed land claimed by Massachusetts between the Kennebec River and Penobscot Bay in what is now Maine. This overlapped the New York claim, which extended from the Kennebec to the Saint Croix River (Maine's present easternmost boundary). Settlements in the territory were attacked during King Philip's War (1675-1676) and the area was abandoned until the 18th century. It was incorporated into the Province of Massachusetts Bay in 1692, which initially governed it as part of York County. The area is now divided into a number of Maine counties.

Waldoboro is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the central village in the town of Waldoboro in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,300 at the 2020 census, out of 5,075 people in the entire town of Waldoboro.

The U.S. Customhouse and Post Office is a historic federal government building in Waldoboro, Maine. Built 1855–57, it is a fine local example of civic Italianate architecture. For much of the 20th century it housed the Waldoboro Public Library. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Waldo Theatre is a historic movie theater and performance venue at 916 Main Street in Waldoboro, Maine. Built in 1936 as a movie theater to a design by New York City architect Benjamin Schlanger, it was hailed at the time as one of the best-designed state-of-the-art small theaters in the country. It is now managed by a non-profit arts organization. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Hutchins House is a historic house at 949 Main Street in Waldoboro, Maine. Built in 1879 for the widow of a successful ship's captain and shipbuilder, it is an elaborately decorated example of Second Empire architecture with Stick style features. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982; it presently houses a funeral home.

The Waldoborough Town Pound is a historic animal pound on Main Street (Maine State Route 220) in Waldoboro, Maine. Built in 1819, the stone structure is an important reminder of the town's agricultural past, and one of a few such structures of its type to survive in the state. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Coastal Christian School (CCS) is a private, non-denominational Christian school in Waldoboro, Maine, United States. It offers classes for grades K-12.

Regional School Unit 40 (RSU#40), formerly known as Maine School Administrative District #40, is a school district headquartered on the second floor of Union Elementary School in Union, Maine. MSAD 40 comprises the public education services for students in Union, Friendship, Waldoboro, Warren, and Washington.The superintendent's office and adult education programs will move to Union Elementary School from the Educational Services Center in Warren starting with the 2008–09 school year.

The Godfrey Ludwig House is a historic house on Maine State Route 32 in Waldoboro, Maine. Built about 1800, it is a well-preserved brick Cape house, built by a descendant of one of the area's early German immigrants. It is notable for features enabling its use as a church. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Medomak River, historically known as the Muscongus River, is a 40-mile-long (64 km) river in Maine. From its source (44°21′48″N 69°21′09″W) in Liberty, the river winds 32 miles (51 km) south to the head of its tidal river estuary in Waldoboro, then about 8 miles (13 km) south to Bremen. The river flows through Hockomock Channel into the head of Muscongus Bay. Medomak is Abenaki for "place (river) of many alewives".
