West Gouldsboro Union Church

The West Gouldsboro Village Library is a historic former library building in Gouldsboro, Maine. Located in West Gouldsboro, this building, designed by Fred L. Savage and built in 1907, is one of the only libraries in Maine built in the Tudor Revival style. It served as a library from 1907 to 1956, and again for a period beginning in 1990. The town's library services are currently provided by the Dorcas Library in Prospect Harbor. This building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Eric E. Soderholtz Cottage is a historic house on Maine State Route 186 in West Gouldsboro, Maine. Built in 1902, it is a fine local example of rustic Craftsman architecture. It was built by Eric Ellis Soderholtz, an artist noted around the turn of the 20th century for his architectural photography and his Arts and Crafts pottery. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Gouldsboro is a town and municipality in Hancock County, Maine, United States on the Schoodic Peninsula. The town was named for Robert Gould, a landholder in the town. The town has many historically separate fishing villages, summer colonies and communities, including Birch Harbor, Prospect Harbor, South Gouldsboro, West Gouldsboro, Summer Harbor, Wonsqueak Harbor, Bunker's Harbor, Chicken Mill, Jones' Pond, Westbay, and Corea. The population was 1,703 at the 2020 census.

Winter Harbor is a town on the Schoodic Peninsula in Hancock County, Maine, United States. The population was 461 at the 2020 census. The town is located just outside the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park, and is due east of the town of Bar Harbor and Ellsworth. Winter Harbor was once the location of a US Naval Station, NSGA-WH, which closed in the mid-2000s, and is now home to the Schoodic Institute’s Education and Research Center. The Schoodic Point District of Acadia National Park is adjacent to the town, and has played an important role in the community’s economic and social development. The Municipality includes the village proper of Winter Harbor, the summer colony of Grindstone Neck, and the hamlets of Gerrishville and Summer Harbor. An iconic, Downeast fishing village, Winter Harbor is home to an active, multigenerational fishing fleet, and is the namesake of the Winter Harbor model boat. In addition, the community is or was a summer residence of several notable figures, such as Frederick Hauck, Fitzgerald Eugene Dixon, among others. Winter Harbor hosts the annual Winter Harbor Lobster Festival each August, which celebrates the community’s history, culture, and economic activity. The festival draws crowds from across the Peninsula and wider Downeast Acadia Region, and includes activities, markets, boat races, a parade, and other events.

Winter Harbor is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Winter Harbor in Hancock County, Maine, United States. The CDP population was 426 at the 2010 census, out of 516 people in the town as a whole.

Edward J. Hammond Hall is a historic mixed-use civic building on Main Street in Winter Harbor, Maine. The architecturally sophisticated hall was built in 1903 to house town offices and a performing arts spaces, and was built with a major donation from local son Edward J. Hammond. The building served as town hall until 1958, and is still used for performances by the Schoodic Arts for All organization. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Bartlett Maine Estate Winery in Gouldsboro, Maine is the state's oldest winery. It was established in 1983, by Bob Bartlett. The winery is known for producing fruit wines, especially wines based on pears, apples, raspberries and wild blueberries, staple crops in Maine. It was one of the first producers of dry fruit wines, with most traditional fruit wines being sweet. In 1996, the Bartlett Maine Estate's blueberry wine was named as one of Wine Enthusiast magazine's "Top 40 red wines in the world". Down East Magazine described the winery's pear wine as "medium-bodied with a mineral quality reminiscent of a good Chablis".

The Sorrento Library is located on Waukeag Avenue in the summer resort town of Sorrento, Maine. It is located in an architecturally distinguished Colonial Revival building, designed by Ball and Dabney and built in 1892-93, that also functions as a community meeting space. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Spectacle Island is a privately owned island off Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. It is 4 acres (1.6 ha), and it is owned by Ashley Longmaid. As of 2012, it is the world's ninth most expensive island and is part of the Town of Winter Harbor.

Frenchman Bay is a bay in Hancock County, Maine, named for Samuel de Champlain, the French explorer who visited the area in 1604. Frenchman Bay may have been the location of the Jesuit St. Sauveur mission, established in 1613.In a 1960 book titled The Story of Mount Desert Island, Samuel Eliot Morison wrote, "Frenchmans Bay was so called because it became a staging point for French warships preparing to fight the English." The bay is bounded on the east by the Schoodic Peninsula and on the west by Mount Desert Island; parts of both are in Acadia National Park. It contains numerous islands, the largest of which is Ironbound Island. The highest elevation of the islands in the bay is found on Jordan Island. The largest town on the bay is Bar Harbor, on Mount Desert Island. The bay extends for roughly 15 miles (24 km) and spans 7 miles (11 km) at its widest.

The Porcupine Islands are an archipelago of five islands that lie in the Mount Desert Narrows of Frenchman Bay in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. The Porcupine Islands consist of Sheep Porcupine Island, Burnt Porcupine Island, Rum Key, Long Porcupine Island, and Bald Porcupine Island. Bar Island, which is part of the same geological formation, is occasionally considered a part of the Porcupines as well. All of the islands, except for Burnt Porcupine, are maintained by the National Park Service through Acadia National Park (which is situated on the larger Mount Desert Island that the archipelago comes off). The islands also serve as nesting grounds for various sea birds, like bald eagles. The islands can be accessed through sea kayaking (or canoeing) or through local boat tours out to them.
