's-Heer Arendskerke

Heinkenszand is a town in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Borsele, and lies about 14 km east of Middelburg.

Sinoutskerke en Baarsdorp is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It existed until 1816, when it was merged with 's-Heer Abtskerke. As its name implies, the municipality It covered two hamlets, Sinoutskerke and Baarsdorp, located west and northwest of 's-Heer Abtskerke. There is also a Lordship of Sinoutskerke and Baarsdorp, owned by the van Huykelom van de Pas family.

Nisse is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Borsele, and lies about 17 km east of Middelburg. Nisse was a separate municipality until 1970, when it was merged with Borsele.Nisse is one of seventeen protected city- and village views in Zeeland. There is a 15th-century church with 14th century tower, containing frescoes and wood carvings. The village square, restored in 1975, has a bandstand, an 18th-century water pump and a vaete - a waterhole formerly used by cattle, now commonly in use as a duck pond. Nisse's surrounding countryside consists of meadows with hawthorn hedges and welen - a type of open water - and is loved by both hikers and cyclists. Fruit cultivation is the most practiced form of agriculture. Yearly events include a jumble sale with proceeds going to the local church, the music festival Pastorale au Parvis, the running competition Meidoornloop, and village fête Schaapscheerdersfeest, until the latter's cancellation in 2011 and subsequent years.

Restaurant 't Veerhuis is a defunct restaurant in Wolphaartsdijk, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1975 and retained that rating until 1988. It was again awarded one Michelin star 2008 and 2009.In the first star period, owner and head chef was Fred van Mierlo.In the second star period, the restaurant was run by Marianne and Co. Simmers. They decided to move the restaurant to Goes. That went wrong and the restaurant, renamed "Simmers & Co", closed down after a year in business.Former head chefs were Edwin Dingemanse (2009-2010) and Michel Louws (2005-2009).In 2011, the former building of 't Veerhuis became once more a Michelin starred restaurant. Restaurant Katseveer had to move due to a major renovation of its own building. From April to August it operated out of Wolphaartsdijk, then it moved back to Wilhelminadorp.

Borsele (Dutch: [ˈbɔrsələ] ; Zeelandic: Bossele) is a municipality in the southwestern Netherlands on Zuid-Beveland. The name of the municipality is spelled with a single s; the name of the eponymous village is Borssele, spelled with double s. The municipality is mainly known for the Borssele Nuclear Power Station and the Central Storage for Radioactive Waste.

In August 1572, during the course of the Eighty Years' War, the city of Goes, in the Spanish Netherlands, was besieged by Dutch forces with the support of English troops sent by Queen Elizabeth I. This was a menace to the safety of the nearby city of Middelburg, also under siege. Given the impossibility of rescue of Goes by sea, 3,000 soldiers of the Spanish Tercios under the command of Cristóbal de Mondragón waded across the river Scheldt at its mouth, walking 15 miles overnight in water up to chest deep. The surprise arrival of the Tercios forced the withdrawal of the Anglo-Dutch troops from Goes, allowing the Spanish to maintain control of Middelburg, capital of Walcheren Island.
