Sandvik Church (Norwegian: Sandvikskirken) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Sandviken neighborhood in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Sandviken parish which is part of the Bergen domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The brown, stone church was built in a long church design in 1881 using plans drawn up by the architects Ernst Norgrenn and Schak Bull. The church seats about 500 people.

The Blue Stone (Norwegian: Den blå stein) is a monument in the city of Bergen, Norway. The stone is nine meters (30 feet) long, and made of Brazilian sodalite. It is resting on a stone block, which gives it a characteristic inclination towards the northeast. The entire sculpture is placed on a larger foundation along with a smaller gray square stone sculpture that appears as a cover to an opening at the end of the foundation. It is considered a typical meeting point for the locals. In 2007 the rock was covered with pink plastic as a part of a marketing stunt, and after the 2011 Norway attacks it was used as a memorial site and covered with flowers.The monument was made by Asbjørn Andersen, and presented to the city 27 March 1993 as a gift from the Kavli Trust, who were celebrating their 100th anniversary.

Bergen School of Architecture or BAS (Norwegian: Bergen Arkitekt Skole) is a private and academically independent school located in Bergen, Norway.BAS offers two master's degree programs: Master of Architecture and Master of Architecture with specialization in Landscape. In the Norwegian context, these two programs stand as alternatives to those offered by the two public architecture schools in Norway (AHO in Oslo and NTNU in Trondheim). BAS programs are accredited by the European Union. BAS is protected by the National Norwegian Law of Alternative Private Education and receives much of its financial support from the Norwegian government. BAS was formally founded in 1986 by the initiative of Arch. Prof. Svein Hatløy and the support of the Bergen Association of Architects. S. Hatløy functioned as the academic and administrative principal until 31 August 2007. Architect and city planner Marianne Skjulhaug took over S. Hatløy as the school's academic and administrative principal on 1 September 2007. The school has approximately 160 students divided into 5 grades. The 5-year-long master's degree programs are divided into two cycles. The first cycle ends with an examination of the works the students have done in the first three grades. The approval of this examination gives the students the right to continue on the second cycle. Even though the school does not offer bachelor's degrees, the approved first cycle at BAS usually is equivalent to a Bachelor of Architecture degree in the EU system. The second cycle at BAS consists of three full-time thematic semester courses and a final 7-months-long diploma project. In September 2009, at a junction in Fredriksberg, Malmö, students performed an art project called A Sunny Day at Fredriksberg.

Bergenhus is a borough of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. This borough encompasses the city centre and is the most urbanized area of the whole city. The 25.41-square-kilometre (6,280-acre) borough has a population (2014) of 40,606. This gives Bergenhus a population density of 1,598 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,140/sq mi).

The Fløyfjell Tunnel (Norwegian: Fløyfjelltunnelen) is a road tunnel in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The tunnel goes through the Fløyfjellet mountain massif between the city neighborhoods of Sandviken and Kalfaret. The tunnel was built to provide a fast route around the city centre. The twin-tube tunnel was built in the late 1980s as part of the city's motorway network, and is part of the main route between the borough of Åsane and the rest of the city. Each of the tubes carries two lanes of traffic on the European route E39/European route E16. The two tubes differ slightly in length; the southern tube, which carries southbound traffic, is 3.2 kilometres (2.0 mi) long and was opened in 1988, while the northern tube is 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi) long and was opened the following year.The traffic through the tunnel is increasing rapidly. In 2007, the average daily traffic was 41,707 vehicles, up from 34,779 vehicles in 2000. The speed cameras in the tunnel detected this section of road to have the most speeding vehicles in all of Vestland county.

St Mary's Church (Norwegian: Mariakyrkja, Mariakirken) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Bryggen area in the central part of the city of Bergen. It is one of the churches for the Bergen Cathedral parish which is part of the Bergen domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, gray stone church was built in a long church design using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 240 people. The construction of the church is believed to have started in the 1130s or 1140s and completed around 1180, making this church the oldest remaining building in the whole city of Bergen. There have been a few fires that burned the church, as well as several renovations and reconstructions, most recently in 2013.

Christi Krybbe skoler is an elementary school in Bergen, Norway. It is the oldest existing school of elementary education in Scandinavia, having been founded 1737 under the name Korskirken's School for the Poor. The school got its own building in 1740, and the name was changed to Christi Krybbe fundasskole. Later, in 1874, the school was expanded when a second building, named Øvregaten skole, was built next to the old one. Starting 1874, both buildings were called Øvregaten skole, a name which lasted until the entire school was renamed Christi Krybbe skoler in 1970.

Bryggens Museum is a museum located in Bergen, Norway.During 1955, parts of the historic district of Bryggen were ravaged by a fire. During subsequent archaeological excavations a number of objects were uncovered, providing an insight into commerce, shipping, handicrafts and everyday life during the Medieval Period. Many of these artifacts now form the basis of the modern museum and are permanently exhibited. Additionally, the museum also has changing exhibits.Bryggens Museum was established during 1976. The architect behind the design work was Øivind Maurseth, who also designed the nearby Radisson SAS Hotel. Archeologist Asbjørn Herteig was the first curator at the Bryggen Museum. Bryggens Museum has been part of Bergen City Museum since 2005.

The Skansen Tunnel is a proposed road tunnel in the city centre of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The tunnel would begin at Bontelabo by the large cruise ship port and it would run in one of two possible paths. The first path would run to the southeast and then south to meet up with the road Christies gate in the city centre. The second path would head east until it connects up with the Fløyfjell Tunnel. The intention is to allow traffic to and from Sandviken to bypass historic Bryggen and the city centre and connect up with a main highway. The project would be part of Norwegian County Road 585 and financing has been secured through the Bergen Program. The tunnel is estimated to cost 430 million kr and it is in the planning stages from 2011–2015.

The Fløibanen is a funicular railway in the Norwegian city of Bergen. It connects the city centre with the mountain of Fløyen, with its mountain walks and magnificent views of the city. It is one of Bergen's major tourist attractions and one of Norway's most visited attractions. The line is 844 m (2,769 ft) long, covers a height difference of 302 m (991 ft), and carries over one million passengers a year. The line is owned by Fløibanen AS, a company with a number of shareholders, the biggest being the municipality of Bergen.

Sverresborg (Norwegian: Sverresborg i Bergen) is a fortress and former castle situated in the Norwegian city of Bergen.
