Legerwood Kirk

Legerwood is a village by the Eden Water, in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, near Lauder, near the Southern Upland Way. Legerwood Kirk is outside the village and has been there since at least 1127. Places nearby include Boon Farm, Gordon, Greenlaw, Kelso, Melrose, Westruther, Earlston.

Earlston railway station, in the Scottish Borders village of Earlston, was a station on the now disused Berwickshire Railway.There were two platforms (the location served as a passing loop) and two sidings, cattle dock and goods shed. The station closed to passenger traffic in 1948, and the last freight service operated on Friday 16 July 1965. The station closed completely, along with the line, on Monday 19 July 1965.

The A6105 road is an A road in the Scottish Borders, Scotland and Northumberland, England. It runs from the village of Earlston to Berwick on Tweed going via Greenlaw and Duns through the Scottish Borders and entering into England, just east of the village of Foulden. The road is 33 miles (53 km) long. The route is single carriageway for its entire length.

Rhymer's Tower, also known as Earlston Castle, is located near the village of Earlston, Scottish Borders, Scotland. The castle was the caput baroniae of the barony of Earlston. It was owned by the Lindsay family in the 12th century and passed to the Dunbar family in the 13th century. The ruins of a 16th-century border peel are all that remain.

Whitslaid Tower was an ancient Berwickshire seat of the Lauder family for over 300 years. It is today a ruin high above the eastern bank of the Leader Water, 2 miles (3.2 km) south of the burgh of Lauder, in the Scottish Borders. In feudal times it fell within a detached segment of the King's personal Barony of Renfrew.

Bassendean is a village in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of Westruther and 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north-west of Gordon. It is by the Eden Water in the former Berwickshire, immediately south of the hamlet of Houndslow. The medieval village of Bassendean declined in the 17th century, and only a ruined church now remains of the settlement. The church, dedicated to St Mary, was established in the 12th century. Disused after the Scottish Reformation, it was rebuilt in 1647, but was replaced only two years later by a new church at Westruther. It subsequently became the burial ground for the Homes of Bassendean.Bassendean House has been the seat of the Homes of Bassendean since 1583. Only a fragment of the original tower house remains, although the 17th-century house is still in domestic occupation. The house and the ruins of the church are both protected as Category B listed buildings.During the 1830s, the Colonial Secretary of Western Australia, Peter Broun, who had ancestral ties to Berwickshire, gave the name Bassendean to his homestead near Perth, Western Australia. By the 1920s, the surrounding suburb had also become known Bassendean and was officially renamed.
