The Battle of Dunbar was the only significant field action of the campaign of 1296 during the beginning of the First War of Scottish Independence.

The Dunbear is a five-metre-high steel sculpture of a brown bear standing on its hind legs. The public artwork is located immediately adjacent to the A1 at Dunbear Par, Dunbar in East Lothian, Scotland. This proposed low carbon community is part of the Hallhill development and is being progressed by the landowner, Hallhill Developments Ltd. Erected in November 2019, The Dunbear is a tribute to John Muir, the Dunbar-born naturalist and conservationist. Muir is known as "Father of the National Parks" due to his role in the establishment of National Parks in the US, including Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. The brown bear sculpture was created by Andy Scott, the Scottish sculptor whose other public artworks include The Kelpies in Falkirk and the Beacon of Hope in Belfast.

Dunbar United Football Club is a Scottish football club from the town of Dunbar, East Lothian. The club operates on a semi-professional basis, playing in the East of Scotland League Premier Division. Dunbar United's home strip is black and white stripes their away colours are blue shirt, dark blue shorts and light blue socks.

Belhaven Brewery is a brewery based in Belhaven, Scotland. The brewery dates from 1719, at least; by 2005 it had become the largest and oldest surviving independent brewery in Scotland. In November 2005, the Suffolk based brewery Greene King completed a £187 million takeover of the company. The brewery complex is designated Category A listed.

Belhaven (Scottish Gaelic: Beul na h-aibhne, meaning mouth of the river) is a village in East Lothian, Scotland, and was originally the ancient port of Dunbar of which town the village has always been a part. Belhaven takes its name from its situation at the mouth of the Biel Water. The village is home to Belhaven Hill School, an independent co-educational prep school for children between the ages of 7–13.

Radio Scotland was an offshore pirate radio station broadcasting on 1241 kHz mediumwave (242 metres), created by Tommy Shields in 1965. The station was on the former lightship L.V. Comet, which had been fitted out as a radio station in Guernsey using RCA technology and engineers, it was anchored at locations off Scotland, usually outside territorial waters.

Dunbar Collegiate Church is renowned as having been the first collegiate church, in 1342, to have been established in the Lothians. The church was situated on the same site as the present-day parish church, on Queen's Road just south of Dunbar town centre.

Robert Gibb RSA (28 October 1845 – 11 February 1932) was a Scottish painter. He was Keeper of the National Gallery of Scotland from 1895 to 1907 and was Painter and Limner to the King from 1908 until his death. He built his reputation on romantic, historical and particularly military paintings but was also a significant portrait artist.

Templelands is a Georgian terrace in Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland. According to the listed building report for the property, it dates to circa 1820,. The late ceramist Margery Clinton lived at 2 Templelands between 1995 and 2005. Today number 1 is a private home and pottery studio run by Philip Revell, while number 2 is a private home. Templelands comprises a terrace of two symmetrical, two-storey-and-basement houses. Each house has three bays. The building has an ashlar front, rubble basement and rear, and rusticated quoins, and other decorative features. The central doorways have Ionic surrounds, panelled doors, and plate glass fanlights. The building was listed at Category B in 1971.

Belhaven Hill School is an independent, co-educational preparatory school for boarding and day pupils aged 4 to 13 in Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland. The current headmaster is Olly Langton. Belhaven Hill School's history begins in 1923, when it was founded by Brian Simms. The main building was originally an old private house, and the school operated initially with just a handful of pupils and two staff — as of 2023, it had 143 pupils.
