McGill University Library

Opened in 1893, Redpath Hall was McGill University's first dedicated library building. Through numerous renovations, the library was extended to the south with the addition of the Redpath Library Building and the McLennan Library, built in 1967-1969 .Today, the Redpath-McLennan complex houses the Humanities and Social Sciences Library, the largest branch of the McGill University Library. Redpath Hall is today operated by the Schulich School of Music. The French Classical pipe organ was built by Hellmuth Wolff and donated in 1981. The Hall is also home to a large portion of the University's portrait collection, managed by the McGill Visual Arts Collection.

The building, along with the Redpath Library Building currently houses the Humanities and Social Sciences Library, the largest branch of the McGill University Library.

The McGill University Archives (MUA) performs integrated archival and records management for McGill University. and is housed on the fourth floor of the McLennan Library Building. The MUA provides a number of searchable, online databases for researchers. In addition, "A Guide to Archival Resources at McGill University" (1985) gives a broad overview of archival holdings at McGill University. The McGill University Records Retention Schedule (MURRS) is also available online, and shows common records created during the daily operations of the University.The establishment of the McGill University Archives was announced in 1962 by Principal F. Cyril James along with the appointment of McGill’s first University Archivist, Mr. Alan Ridge.

Rare Books and Special Collections is a unit of McGill University Library in Montreal (Canada), whose mandate is to "support the teaching, learning and research needs of McGill students and faculty from all disciplines, and the wider scholarly community."

The Desautels Faculty of Management is a faculty of McGill University. The faculty offers a range of undergraduate and graduate-level business programs including the Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Business Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy in management degrees. The Faculty of Management also offers a joint MBA/Law program with the Faculty of Law.

The McGill University pro-Palestinian encampment is an ongoing occupation protest which has been taking place on the downtown campus of McGill University, in Montreal, since 27 April 2024. It was the first notable Canadian demonstration in the 2024 movement of pro-Palestinian protests on university campuses, which call for universities to cut ties with Israel amid the country's assault on Gaza in the Israel–Hamas war. Like many of its predecessors, the protest at McGill takes the form of an encampment, a group of tents occupied day and night by protesters. The encampment was organized by a collective of pro-Palestinian student groups from McGill and the nearby Concordia University. Their demands were for those universities to cut ties with Israel, including by divesting from Israel-related funds such as weapons manufacturers. Roughly 20 tents were initially set up close to the Roddick Gates and encircled by a metal fence. In the following days, the encampment grew to roughly 100 tents. It is equipped with various amenities and hosts daily activities related to the protest. Students and faculty from various Montreal universities, which also include the Université du Québec à Montréal and Université de Montréal, occupy the tents. McGill University has stated that the encampment is illegal and has requested police assistance to dismantle it. The university's president, Deep Saini, accused protesters of antisemitism, which they have denied. As of yet, Montreal's police department has not attempted to dismantle the encampment, which has been repeatedly described as peaceful. The Superior Court of Quebec rejected an injunction request against the protest, which had been filed on behalf of two students who described a hostile climate around the encampment. The premier of Quebec, François Legault, has joined McGill in declaring the encampment illegal and requesting police intervention. The encampment's members have stated their intention to remain on site until their demands are met.

The holdings of the Islamic Studies Library, a branch of the McGill University Library, stand together with those of the Robarts Library of the University of Toronto as the premier library resources in Canada for research on the Islamic world and among the most important collections in North America.

The McGill University Institute of Islamic Studies and the Islamic Studies Library were established in 1952 by Wilfred Cantwell Smith, and since 1983 both have been housed in Morrice Hall on McGill's campus in downtown Montreal, Quebec. McGill's institute is the first institute of Islamic studies in North America and hosts 14 full-time professors, 5 visiting positions and 5 professors emeritus.

The Redpath Museum is a museum of natural history belonging to McGill University and located on the university's campus at 859 Sherbrooke Street West in Montreal, Quebec. It was built in 1882 as a gift from the sugar baron Peter Redpath.It houses collections of interest to ethnology, biology, paleontology, and mineralogy/geology. The collections were started by some of the same individuals who founded the Smithsonian and Royal Ontario Museum collections. The current director is Hans Larsson. Commissioned by Redpath to mark the 25th anniversary of Sir John William Dawson's appointment as Principal, the Museum was designed by A.C. Hutchison and A.D. Steele. McGill University's Redpath Museum website characterizes it as an "idiosyncratic expression of eclectic Victorian Classicism" as well as "an unusual and late example of the Greek Revival in North America."It is the oldest building built specifically to be a museum in Canada. Both the museum's interior and exterior have been utilized as a set, for movies and commercials.

The Three Graces, also known as Carytid Fountain Group, Friendship Fountain, The Three Bares, and Three Bares Fountain, is an outdoor fountain and sculpture by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, installed in 1931 at Montreal's McGill University, in Quebec, Canada.

Tenderness is an outdoor white Carrara marble sculpture by Paul Lancz, depicting a mother and child, installed at the corner of Sherbrooke and Peel streets in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The sculpture was created to depict two entities of equal significance showing their devotion to each other. The artist shows this through child kissing their mother's hands, and the mother kissing the child's head. It is said to stand as a symbol of indestructibility and invulnerability.

Le Cartier Tower is a high-rise apartment building in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 1115 Sherbrooke Street West at the corner of Peel Street and Sherbrooke Street West in the Golden Square Mile area of Downtown Montreal. When completed in 1964, Le Cartier was the tallest apartment building in Canada and throughout the Commonwealth. It is 32 stories above ground and stands at 98 metres (322 ft) tall. It contains four basement floors, four elevators and 188 units.After the bankruptcy of ACI Property Corporation, the building's developer, in the mid-1960s, Le Cartier was repossessed by the Montreal Trust Company. It was subsequently purchased by René Lépine and Lorne Wesbter in 1969. René Lépine bought the Webster family's shares. The Building has now been bought by another real estate company. Le Cartier's architecture is considered to be of international style and its core structure is made of steel. Its construction began in 1963 and was completed in 1964. It was designed by Mankes and Webb. The developer was ACI Property Corporation, led by British peer Henry Cubitt, 4th Baron Ashcombe.
