Victorian Open

The Women's Victorian Open is an annual golf tournament held in Australia. It was founded in 1988 and played annually through 1992. After a 20-year hiatus it returned in 2012 as a tournament on the WPGA Tour of Australasia.This was the first time the men's Victorian Open and women's Victorian Open were held concurrently - making it the only professional golf tournament in the world where men and women played the same courses, at the same time, for equal prize money. In 2013, the men's and women's Victorian Opens moved to 13th Beach Golf Links in Barwon Heads, southwest of Melbourne, near the southwest shore (Bass Strait) of the Bellarine Peninsula. When the tournament moved to 13th Beach Golf Links in 2013, the combined prize pool was A$300,000, with $150,000 on offer for each of the men's and women's fields. In six years, the total prize pool has increased ten-fold, with the 2019 men's and women's Victorian Open fields to be playing for a total purse of $3 million ($1.5 million each). In 2017 and 2018, the event were co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the ALPG Tour. Like its men's counterpart, it is a two-cut tournament. The field is reduced to 60 after the second round and 35 after the third round; those who fail to make the second cut earn prize money. The event was co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour in 2019 and 2020. It is played alongside the men's Victorian Open. The double cut continues; 65 players will remain after the first cut, then 35 players after the Saturday cut.

Thirteenth Beach is located west of Barwon Heads, Victoria, Australia and the name is taken from the close proximity of the beach to the thirteenth hole of the Barwon Heads Golf Course. Stretching along 4.5 kilometres of coast, Black Rock marks the western end. 13th Beach or commonly known as "13th" is extremely popular with surfers of all ability due to its diverse waves and breaks that stretch along the beach. Professional surfers frequent the beach. The beach is home to the Thirteenth Beach Barwon Heads Surf Lifesaving Club, which voluntarily patrols the beach during on weekends in the summer months to rescue people who get into difficulties in the dangerous surf conditions. Paid Lifeguards also patrol the beach during the week in summer.

Barwon Heads Airport (ICAO: YBRS) is a small airfield specifically for light aircraft on the Bellarine Peninsula near the township of Barwon Heads, Victoria, Australia. It is primarily used for scenic flights, private aircraft and flight training.The airport has remained small and undeveloped until recently, where development is soon to commence. In early 2008, a local council permit was given to construct another five hangars and associated car parking.The airport has a flight training school with two classrooms, fuel facilities and a seafood outlet. A shower and toilets are located in the terminal building, where there is also a kitchen, snack and drink machines and a lounge area.The airport has two runways, the main one is a sealed north–south runway, and there is a smaller east/west grass runway, primarily for ultralight aircraft, and light aircraft in stronger wind conditions

Lake Connewarre State Wildlife Reserve (LCSWR) is a 3411.1 ha Park in Victoria, Australia, that contains a diverse range of unique and significant ecosystems including a river, tidal delta, lakes, swamps, salt marshes and grasslands.

Lake Connewarre (Aboriginal Wathawurrung language: Kunawarr keelingk literally meaning black swan lake), a shallow estuarine 880-hectare (2,200-acre) lake on the Barwon River, is located on the Bellarine Peninsula southeast of Geelong in the Australian state of Victoria.

Connewarre () is a locality in Victoria, Australia, is located in the City of Greater Geelong and Surf Coast Shire, and is named after Lake Connewarre which is situated immediately to its north-east. Connewarre is a version of "kunuwarra", the name of the black swan in the Wathawurrung language. At the 2016 census, Connewarre and the surrounding area had a population of 788.Part of the Eastern Precinct of the large Armstrong Creek Growth Area was within Connewarre when urban development began in 2010, but in 2012, when the new suburb Armstrong Creek was gazetted, Connewarre's boundary was adjusted to exclude the area north of Lower Duneed Road and the west of Baenschs Lane, meaning that all of the Growth Area then lay outside Connewarre.Settlements near Connewarre include Breamlea to the south, Torquay to the west and Barwon Heads to the east.

The Bellarine Wetlands Important Bird Area comprises a group of wetland sites, with a collective area of 46 km2, at the western end of the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, south-eastern Australia. The site is important for waterbirds and orange-bellied parrots.

Ocean Grove is a seaside town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Bellarine Peninsula. At the 2016 census, Ocean Grove had a population of 14,165.

Designed by Melbourne architect Kerstin Thompson from 1999–2002, House at Lake Connewarre is located in Leopold, Victoria. It is a house characterised by its black, flat, long roof blending into the landscape around Lake Connewarre. The architect described the house as “a simple gesture across the landscape”. The house is an attempt to create dialogue with nature in a poetic way and the house design is strongly influenced by the landscape.

Breamlea, Victoria, Australia, is a secluded seaside hamlet located on the south coast of the Bellarine Peninsula, 18 kilometres south of Geelong, and halfway between Barwon Heads and Torquay. It is divided between the City of Greater Geelong and the Surf Coast Shire. In the 2016 census, Breamlea had a permanent population of 162.

The Ocean Grove Nature Reserve is a rectangular, 1.43 km2 nature reserve next to the town of Ocean Grove and 25 km south-east of the city of Geelong, on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, Australia. It contains the only significant remnant of native woodland on the Bellarine Peninsula as it was prior to European settlement and the extensive land clearing that ensued. It is surrounded by agricultural land and a housing estate and is managed by Parks Victoria. Records of its birdlife illustrate the changes occurring in an isolated woodland remnant.

Reedy Lake, historically also known as Lake Reedy, is a shallow 5.5-square-kilometre (2.1 sq mi) intermittent freshwater lake or swamp on the lower reaches of the Barwon River, on the Bellarine Peninsula southeast of Geelong in the Australian state of Victoria.
