Saint John Paul II National Shrine

St. John Paul II Seminary is a Catholic diocesan minor seminary located at 145 Taylor Street in northeast Washington, D.C. The seminary is owned and administered by the Archdiocese of Washington and was founded in 2011 by Cardinal Donald Wuerl. The seminary is named after Pope St. John Paul II. St. John Paul II Seminary is located near the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and the campus of The Catholic University of America, where the seminarians receive their academic formation. After completing their philosophy requirements, the seminarians transfer to a major seminary for the completion of their priestly formation.

The Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family is a Catholic church located near University Heights, Washington, D. C. The shrine is part of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, a sui iuris Eastern Catholic church in communion with the Bishop of Rome. The shrine is administered by the Archeparchy of Philadelphia. The Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family is located immediately west of the Catholic University of America campus and roughly 250 feet north of the Saint John Paul II National Shrine. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is located roughly a half a mile south along the east side of Harewood Road.

Archbishop Carroll High School is a Catholic high school located in the Brookland Neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C., serving students from around the Washington Metropolitan Area. It is owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Washington and is part of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. Archbishop Carroll High School is also a certified International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering IB curricula.

The Kirov Academy of Ballet (formerly the Universal Ballet Academy) is a ballet school in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1989. It is scheduled to close in May 2022 due to financial issues.

Capuchin College is a national Catholic seminary located in Washington, D.C., owned and administered by the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. Built in the early 1900s, it serves as a house of Post-Novitiate training in the United States and belongs to the Capuchin Province of St. Augustine. The college is located in close proximity to the Catholic University of America, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the Dominican House of Studies, and Theological College.

Fort Slemmer sometimes called Battery Slemmer was one of seven temporary earthwork forts part of the Civil War Defenses of Washington, D.C., during the Civil War built in the Northeast quadrant of the city at the beginning of the Civil War by the Union Army to protect the city from the Confederate Army. From west to east, the forts were as follow: Fort Slocum, Fort Totten, Fort Slemmer, Fort Bunker Hill, Fort Saratoga, Fort Thayer and Fort Lincoln. Unlike other forts, today very little remains of the structure.

The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art is the school of arts with the School of Music, Department of Drama, and Department of Art of The Catholic University of America, located in Washington D.C. The school is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Curley Court was a dormitory for 98 upper-class students at The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, United States. Constructed in 1998 and named for the university's former chancellor, Cardinal Michael Curley, it was renovated in 2007. Curley Court consisted of 24 occupied mobile homes with one additional trailer serving as a laundry facility. Curley Court was last occupied by students in the Fall 2014 semester and removed beginning in the Spring 2015. New construction and reconfigured parking will replace Curley Court. It was deconstructed in 2015.

The Catholic University School of Engineering is one of the twelve schools at The Catholic University of America, located in Washington, D.C. (USA), and one of 41 higher education catholic institutions that offer Engineering Programs in the United States. It was reported to be the biggest Catholic graduate school of engineering in the nation.In 2020, it was ranked number 22 in the nation among colleges that offer a bachelor's degree in civil engineering based on median salary one year after graduating.

The Armed Forces Retirement Home refers to one of two facilities, one in Gulfport, Mississippi, the other in Washington, D.C., that house veterans and active duty members of the United States Armed Forces.

The School of Canon Law is the only faculty of Catholic canon law in the United States. It is one of the twelve schools at The Catholic University of America, located in Washington, D.C. and one of the three ecclesiastical schools at the university, together with the School of Theology and Religious Studies and the School of Philosophy. The school is part of the main campus in the Brookland neighborhood in Northeast D.C. and is housed in Caldwell Hall. It offers the Licentiate of Canon Law and the Doctor of Canon Law ecclesiastical degrees, as well as civil and joint ecclesiastical-civil degree programs.

The Armed Forces Retirement Home – Washington is a retirement home for retirees of the United States Armed Forces located in the Park View neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The complex forms an historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
