Froideville is a municipality in the district of Gros-de-Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

The École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL, lit. 'Hotel School of Lausanne') is a hospitality management school in Switzerland. The school is consistently regarded as the best hospitality school in the world. It trains students whose goals are to obtain managerial careers in the hotel and hospitality industries.Its campus is located in Le Chalet-à-Gobet, eight kilometers from the city center of Lausanne. Today, the school welcomes more than 3,200 students from 123 different countries.EHL is a member of EHL Group, which was founded in 2015 and is dedicated to hospitality management education. This reorganization was aimed at fostering management transparency and facilitating partnerships abroad.

Montagne du Château (929 metres (3,048 ft)) is the highest hill of the Jorat. It lies west of Montpreveyres in the canton of Vaud, above the city of Lausanne. The hill is entirely wooded, except for its summit, where is a clearing.

The 1982 Eisenhower Trophy took place 15 to 18 September at the Golf Club de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was the 13th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 30 four-man teams. The best three scores for each round counted towards the team total. United States won the Eisenhower Trophy for the ninth time, finishing seven strokes ahead of the joint silver medalists, Japan and Sweden, with France finishing fourth. Luis Carbonetti, representing Argentina, had the lowest individual score, 4-under-par 284, a stroke better than Jay Sigel. The event was affected by political protests about the participation of South Africa. Two of the stronger nations, Australia and Canada, did not compete while teams from Indonesia and Trinidad and Tobago attended the opening ceremony but later withdrew.

Peney-le-Jorat is a former municipality in the district of Gros-de-Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is in the south-west of Switzerland, in close proximity to both France and Italy. The villages of Villars-Tiercelin, Montaubion-Chardonney, Sottens, Villars-Mendraz and Peney-le-Jorat merged on 1 July 2011 into the new municipality of Jorat-Menthue.

Croisettes is a Lausanne Métro station and the northern terminus of M2 line. It was opened on 27 October 2008 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Croisettes to Ouchy–Olympique. It is located in the municipality of Épalinges. The adjacent station is Vennes.

The Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC, French: Institut suisse de recherche expérimentale sur le cancer) is a not-for-profit institution founded in 1964 and located in Épalinges, Switzerland. Since 1 January 1, 2008, it is organized into two distinct entities: The ISREC Foundation whose mission is to continue to seek and provide resources for the support of translational cancer research projects and the training of young scientists. The Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC), at the School of Life Sciences of the EPFL, whose research projects are oriented towards fundamental cancer research.
