Saidpur, Islamabad

Rama Temple, also known as Ram Kund Temple, is situated in Saidpur Village, Islamabad, Pakistan. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu God Rama, who Hindus believe lived in the area with his family during 14 years of their exile. The temple was built in the 16th century by Man Singh I.

The Marghzar Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Islamabad, Pakistan located near the Saidpur village. The first recorded match on the ground was in the 1988/89 season. The ground has hosted more than forty first-class matches since 1993. It was selected as a venue to host a match in the 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

The High Commission of Bangladesh in Islamabad is the chief diplomatic mission of Bangladesh to Pakistan. It is located in Sector F-6 of Islamabad. The present Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Pakistan is Md. Ruhul Alam Siddique, who assumed diplomatic duties in October 2020. Bangladesh also has a Deputy High Commission in Karachi, and an honorary consul in Lahore.

Airblue Flight 202 was a scheduled Pakistani domestic passenger flight from Karachi to the nation's capital of Islamabad. On 28 July 2010, the Airbus A321-231 jet airliner serving the flight crashed into Margalla Hills, north of Islamabad's Benazir Bhutto International Airport, killing all 146 passengers and six crew on board. It is the deadliest air accident to occur in Pakistan to date and the first fatal crash involving an Airbus A321.Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority stated that the crash was caused by the captain's incorrect flight-control input. The captain's arrogant demeanour during the entire flight caused the first officer to lose his self-esteem, making him less likely to speak up on the captain's mistakes and effectively ceased any meaningful crew resource management due to the toxic work environment.

The Embassy of Argentina in Islamabad is the diplomatic mission of Argentina to Pakistan. It is located at 20, Hill Rd, F-6-3, F-6, Islamabad, Islamabad. Argentina sent its first diplomat to Pakistan in January 1948. The two countries soon established full diplomatic relations and the Argentine embassy was opened in Karachi, the former capital, on 29 October 1951.The embassy provides consular services and facilitates bilateral relations through commerce and tourism. In addition, it promotes Argentine cultural events, arts, exhibitions and musical shows in Pakistan. There is also an Argentina Park in Islamabad's G-6 area. It was inaugurated as a public landmark commemorating the two countries' relations.The embassy is concurrently accredited as Argentina's mission to Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The present Argentine ambassador to Pakistan is Ivan Ivanissevich, appointed in April 2016.

Islamabad Zoo (Urdu: اسلام آباد چڑیا گھر), previously Marghazar Zoo, was an 82-acre (33 ha) zoo in Islamabad Capital Territory. It was opened in 1978, and was under the administration of Capital Development Authority of Pakistan before its closure in December 2020 due to its mistreatment of animals.In May 2020, the Islamabad High Court ruled to transfer management of the park and its non-human species to the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board and transfer all animals to shelters, and the board took administrative control in June 2021. A renovation of the zoo as a conservation centre is being planned.

Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) is a Pakistani government body operating under the Ministry of Climate Change. It is mandated to protect, manage, and conserve the Margalla Hills National Park as its legal custodian.It was set up in 2015 under Section 4 of the Islamabad Wildlife (Protection, Preservation, Conservation and Management) Ordinance 1979. It was officially notified on 7 July 2015 by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.Rina Saeed Khan is the current chairperson of the board, having been appointed in 2021.

Daman-e-Koh (Urdu: دامن کوہ) is a hilltop garden north of Islamabad. It is in the center of the Margalla Hills. The name is a fusion of two Persian words, which collectively denote 'foothills'. It is about 2400 ft above sea level and about 500 ft above Islamabad. The area is a popular destination for both residents and tourists.Tourist treats are a popular attraction for monkeys. Leopards are reported to descend from higher hills of Murree during the winter months.Airblue Flight 202 crashed near here on 28 July 2010.

The Embassy of Bahrain in Islamabad is the diplomatic mission of Bahrain to Pakistan. It is located at House No. 12, Street 2 in Sector F-6/3, Islamabad. Bahrain also has a consulate-general in Karachi.The current embassy building was inaugurated in 2006 by Salman, Crown Prince of Bahrain. The embassy promotes bilateral relations between Bahrain and Pakistan, and provides consular services for Bahraini citizens in the country. Its operating hours are between 8.30am and 3.30pm from Mondays to Thursdays, and 8.30am to 1.30pm on Fridays.The current Bahraini ambassador to Pakistan is Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed Abdulqader.

Pir Sohawa (Urdu: پیر سوہاوہ) is a rapidly developing tourist resort located 17 kilometers (11 mi) from Islamabad on top of Margalla Hills. It has a 3000 plus ft elevation and is geographically part of Haripur District. Like many other parts of the Margalla Hills, Haripur and Galyat mountains, Pir Sohawa sees rapid, uncontrolled development and encroachment on National Park land, which results in damages to the environment through pollution and heavy traffic.On 6 January 2012, after almost six years, Pir Sohawa received few inches of snowfall.

The Islamabad Marriott Hotel bombing occurred on the night of 20 September 2008, when a dumper truck filled with explosives was detonated in front of the Marriott Hotel in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, killing at least 54 people, injuring at least 266 and leaving a 60 ft (20 m) wide, 20 ft (6 m) deep crater outside the hotel. The majority of the casualties were Pakistanis; at least five foreign nationals were also killed and fifteen others reported injured. The attack occurred only hours after President Asif Ali Zardari made his first speech to the Pakistani parliament. The Marriott was the most prestigious hotel in the capital, and was located near government buildings, diplomatic missions, embassies and high commissions.During the investigation, three suspected terrorists were arrested by the Pakistani police. They were suspected of having facilitated the suicide bomber. However later they were acquitted of all charges as no evidence was ever presented against them. A few months after the hotel's bombing the Government of Pakistan had re-constructed it, and the Islamabad Marriott reopened officially on 28 December 2008.

The PHA Foundation, (موَسسہ پی ایچ اے) short form for Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation, (Urdu: پاکستان موَسسہَ اختیاریہ برائے اقامت کاری) is a government body based in Islamabad, Pakistan, with offices in Lahore (31.454055°N 74.239937°E / 31.454055; 74.239937) and Karachi (24.924614°N 67.142528°E / 24.924614; 67.142528). The PHA Foundation controls and helps in building housing societies and communities in modern ways. It was established on May 18, 1999 to help improving housings. This organization is controlled by the Ministry of Housing and Works (Pakistan) of which MAULANA ABDUL WASAY is serving as federal minister.
