St Patrick's College, Maghera

Maghera ( MA-hə-RAH, MAK-ə-RAH; from Irish Machaire Rátha, meaning 'plain of the ringfort') is a small town at the foot of the Glenshane Pass in Northern Ireland. Its population was 4,235 in the 2021 census. Formerly in the barony of Loughinsholin within the historic County Londonderry, it is today in the local-government district of Mid-Ulster.

Watty Graham's Gaelic Athletic Club, Glen (Irish: An Ghleann), is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club based outside Maghera in the south of County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Players are drawn from Maghera and some surrounding townlands. The club competes in Gaelic football, ladies' Gaelic football and camogie.

Craigadick is a townland lying within the civil parish of Maghera, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies in the west of the parish sharing a small boundary with Killelagh civil parish. Falgortrevy is a townland lying within the Civil parishes in Ireland of Maghera, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies on the western boundary of the parish and is divided into two portions; Falgortrevy (main portion) and Falgortrevy (detached portion), separated by small portions of the townlands of Craigadick and Tullyheran. The detached portion is also bounded by the townlands of Craigmore and Tirnony, whilst the main portion is also bounded by the townlands of Ballynahone Beg and Fallagloon. Ballynahone Bog (from Irish Baile na hAbhann 'townland of the river') is a raised bog, situated in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, about 3 km south of Maghera, on low-lying ground immediately north of the Moyola River about 14 km from its mouth at Lough Neagh. It is one of the largest lowland raised bogs in Northern Ireland.

Ballymacilcurr is a townland lying within the civil parish of Maghera, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies in the west of the parish, and is bounded on the north by the Grillagh river. It is also bounded by the townlands of Crew, Culnady, Grillagh, Macknagh, Tamnymullan, and Tirgarvil. It was not apportioned to any of the London livery companies, being kept as churchlands. It lies in north-east of the parish and is bounded in the north by the Moyola River as well as the parish of Termoneeny. It is bounded by the following townlands; Ballynahone Beg, Ballynahone More, Gortamney, Moyesset, and Tobermore. It was apportioned to the Drapers company as well as freeholds. The townland was part of Tobermore electoral ward of the former Magherafelt District Council, however in 1926 it was part of Tobermore district electoral division as part of the Maghera division of Magherafelt Rural District. It was also part of the historic barony of Loughinsholin.

Tobermore United Football Club is an intermediate, Northern Irish football club playing in the Premier Division of the Ballymena & Provincial League .

Upperlands (from Irish Áth an Phoirt Leathain, meaning 'ford of the broad (river) bank') is a small village in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is situated 3 miles north east of Maghera. It lies within the civil parish of Maghera, the historic barony of Loughinsholin, and is situated within Mid-Ulster District. In the 2011 Census it had a population of 561 people.

It lies in the north-east of the parish, and is bounded by the townlands of; Ballynahone Beg, Calmore, Clooney, Drumballyhagan Clark, Moneyshanere, and Moyesset. It was apportioned to the Drapers company as well as freeholds. The townland was part of the Tobermore electoral ward of the former Magherafelt District Council, however in 1926 it was part of Tobermore district electoral division as part of the Maghera division of Magherafelt Rural District. It was also part of the historic barony of Loughinsholin.

Gortamney (locally [ˌɡɔrˈtaːmni], from Irish Gort an tSamhraidh 'the summer field') is a townland lying within the civil parish of Kilcronaghan, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies in the east of the parish alongside the boundary of the civil parish of Termoneeny, and is bounded by the townlands of Ballinderry, Ballynahone More, Clooney, Drumsamney, Killynumber, Killytoney, and Moyesset. It was apportioned to the Drapers company and Crown freeholds. The townland was part of Tobermore electoral ward of the former Magherafelt District Council, however in 1926 it was part of Tobermore district electoral division as part of the Maghera division of Magherafelt Rural District. It was also part of the historic barony of Loughinsholin.

Upperlands railway station was on the Derry Central Railway which ran from Magherafelt to Macfin Junction in Northern Ireland. The station served Upperlands.
