Twerton on Avon railway station is a former railway station in Bath, Somerset.

Bath FM was a local independent radio station based at the former Weston railway station in Bath, England. The station was launched in November 1999 and closed on 24 March 2010.The station broadcast to an area with a population of 104,000. In September 2008, RAJAR figures gave the station a weekly audience reach of 14% and an audience share of 2.7% In December 2008, after the acquisition by South West Radio Ltd, listening figures increased to an audience reach of 15% and an audience share of 3.4%.

Weston (Bath) was a small railway station in Bath, England, about a mile west of Bath Green Park railway station on the Midland Railway line. It was opened in 1869 when the Midland Railway's Bath branch was opened. It was served by stopping trains to Mangotsfield and the Bristol Midland Railway terminus at St Philips or Bristol Temple Meads, via Bitton and Oldland Common. Originally called just Weston, its name was altered to Weston (Bath) in 1934 to avoid confusion with Weston-super-Mare (usually referred to by local people as just "Weston"). The station closed in 1953, killed by competition from bus services, though the railway line through the station did not close until 1966 for passengers and 1971 for goods trains. The next station to the west on the same line, Kelston (for Saltford), had closed at the end of 1948. The line into St Philips closed on the same day as Weston.[1] The station was named after the Weston suburb of Bath, but was some distance from Weston village in the area called Lower Weston that now forms part of the Newbridge area of Bath. The station building still exists and is used as offices, formerly including the studio of the now defunct Bath FM radio station. A signal box at the level crossing on Station Road was demolished when the line was shut.

Locksbrook Cemetery is a municipal cemetery located in Lower Weston, Bath, England. It was opened in 1864 as Walcot Cemetery, and occupies 12 acres (4.9 ha), originally serving the parishes of Walcot, Weston and St Saviour's. The cemetery was closed for general use in 1937 with over 30,000 interments there, though additional burials in existing graves continue. The majority of the cemetery was for about 29,500 burials from Walcot parish, with the north of the cemetery for Weston and St Saviour parishes.Nowadays it is designated as a 'Nature Conservation Site' by Bath and North East Somerset council, its owners. The cemetery has several unusual species of tree including Phillyrea latifolia, Sequoiadendron giganteum, Ailanthus altissima, Thuja plicata and Japanese Cherry.

Newbridge is a largely residential electoral ward on the western edge of Bath, England.

Lansdown Cricket Club, formed in 1825, is recognised as the earliest official organised cricket club in Somerset. Originally based in Lansdown, since 1869 the club has been based at Combe Park, Bath, adjacent to the Royal United Hospital.

Lansdown Cricket Club Ground is the cricket grounds in Bath, Somerset. Between 1825 and 1850, it was the name given to Lansdown Cricket Club's (LCC) ground 'Cricket Down'. In 1850, LCC moved to Sydenham Field, also in Bath. In 1869 the club moved again, and the name was then used for their 'Combe Park' ground, where they have played ever since.

Twerton Park is a football stadium in the Twerton suburb of Bath, England. The stadium is named after the surrounding area, Twerton. The stadium has a physical capacity of 8,840 1,006 of which are seats. It has been the home of Bath City F.C. since 1932. From 1986 to 1996 Bristol Rovers played at the ground following their departure from Eastville. From 2020 the ground also became the home stadium for Bristol City Women. The stadium has four stands; the Bath End, the Grandstand, The Popular Side, and the Bristol End. The record attendance of 18,020 was set at a match with Bath versus Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup third round in 1960. The stadium is 2.5 km (1.6 miles) from the city centre. The two bars within the stadium are named after former players: Charlies' (Charlie Fleming), and Randall's (Paul Randall). Twerton Park underwent several expansions in the 1980s, including the addition of the family stand, West of The Grandstand. Future expansion is likely to involve the complete redevelopment of The Grandstand and the surrounding car park.

Weston Lock is a canal lock situated on the River Avon, on the western outskirts of Bath, England, in what now forms the Newbridge suburb of Bath. The Bristol Avon Navigation, which runs the 15 miles (24 km) from the Kennet and Avon Canal at Hanham Lock to the Bristol Channel at Avonmouth, was constructed between 1724 and 1727, following legislation passed by Queen Anne, by a company of proprietors and the engineer John Hore of Newbury. The first cargo of 'Deal boards, Pig-Lead and Meal' arrived in Bath in December 1727. The navigation is now administered by the Canal & River Trust. Weston cut is a man-made channel, opened in 1727, for boats to approach and pass through Weston lock, which created an island between the cut and the river weir, which became known as Dutch Island named after the owner of the brass mill established on the river side in the early 18th century.The Dolphin Inn (later becoming the Locksbrook Inn) next to the lock was built for bargees in 1728. It is a Grade II listed building.

Twerton is a suburb of the city of Bath, Somerset, England, situated to the west of the city, and home to the city's football club, Bath City. Twerton is served by bus route 5, operated by First West of England buses in the Bath area. For a time, there was a duplicate Wessex Connect service, operating under the name Royal Bath. This was discontinued in the summer of 2013. First West of England also operates buses 20A/C (Bath Circulars). Twerton high street houses two pubs (the Old Crown and the Full Moon), a minimarket, McColl's convenience store (containing a Post Office counter formerly Blockbuster, a bakery, a Boots Pharmacy, two learning centres, a volunteering organisation and two hairdressing salons. The Whiteway housing estate is located in the south of the Twerton electoral ward. There is also a community centre at the Quebec Social Centre and a community garden at Hanna Close.

The Church of St Michael and All Angels on How Hill in Twerton, Bath, Somerset, England was built in the 15th century. It is a Grade II* listed building.

The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases is a small, specialist NHS hospital on the Royal United Hospital (RUH) site in the northwestern outskirts of Bath, England. The hospital was founded in 1738 as a general hospital for the poor in the city centre, where the frontage of its building still reads Royal Mineral Water Hospital. Thus it is known locally as "The Mineral Hospital" or "The Min". The hospital moved to a new building at the RUH site in 2019.
