Nová Ves u Chýnova is a municipality and village in Tábor District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 300 inhabitants. Nová Ves u Chýnova lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) east of Tábor, 52 km (32 mi) north-east of České Budějovice, and 82 km (51 mi) south of Prague.

The D3 motorway (Czech: Dálnice D3) is a highway in the Czech Republic. Currently only the middle segment of the route is in operation; when complete, it will run from Prague via Tábor and České Budějovice to the Czech-Austrian border at Dolní Dvořiště. It is part of the European route E55. The D3 motorway in the South Bohemian Region towards the Austrian border should be completed by 2025. Completion of D3 in the Central Bohemian Region is planned by 2028, however its designed course through the Lower Sázava landscape is still objected and opposed by environmental and citizens associations.

Tábor (Czech pronunciation: [ˈtaːbor]; German: Tabor) is a town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 34,000 inhabitants, which makes it the second most populated town in the region. The town was founded by the Hussites in the 1420. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument reservation.

The photographic studio Šechtl and Voseček of Tábor (Bohemia) emerged from the studio of Ignác Schächtl, who variously spelled his name in German (Ignaz Schächtl), Czech (Ignác Šechtl), or a mix thereof. In 1888, he accepted his assistant Jan Voseček as co-member of his photographic studio.

The Battle of Tábor took place in the early morning hours of 30 June 1420 in a locality between Tismenický stream and the Lužnice near the walls of a newly emerging Hussite village called Tábor. Between 3,000 and 9,000 Taborites, including women and children, remained in the village after a Hussite detachment left for Prague. Taking advantage of their weakened state, Oldřich II of Rosenberg laid siege to the village. He commanded a force composed of his own gunmen and Austrian mercenaries led by Lipolt Krajíř of Krajek, the governor of České Budějovice. Learning of the siege, Mikuláš of Hus left Prague with 350 cavalry and returned to Tábor. In the early morning of 30 June 1420, he attacked the sleeping besiegers. Oldřich II of Rosenberg and his allies were caught off-guard by the attack and scattered, suffering heavy losses in their retreat. The Hussite victory lifted a week long siege, while Oldřich II missed the opportunity to eliminate the base of radical Hussites in the immediate vicinity of his estates.
