Ammerud

Ammerud is the station on Grorud Line of the Oslo Metro between Kalbakken and Grorud. It is located in the Grorud borough. Ammerud is part of the original stretch of Grorudbanen opened 16 October 1966. The Ammerud neighborhood is mostly residential. The subway station is located on the south side and much of the neighborhood is beyond reasonable walking distance, so a shuttle bus is required. Formerly Oslo University College had their faculty for business, public administration and social work at Ammerud before moving downtown.

Rødtvet Church is a church center in Oslo, Norway. There is a youth center, an elderly center, a kindergarten and offices. In addition to the church room, there are two congregation halls. The facades of the church building are in brick. On one of the exterior walls hangs a large ceramic cross, created by Konrad Galaaen. The altarpiece in the church room, where the cross is also the main motif, was painted by Jens Johannessen. A stained glass was done by Veslemøy Nystedt Stoltenberg. Another stained glass window in the south wall of the gallery depicting the battle of Jesus in Gethsemane dates back to 1928, and was created by E. Kristiansen. The place to light candles and a light bulb was created Torbjørn Grue in 2005. A wall textile and a white antependium was created by Turid Svarstad Flø in 2011. The church organ has 18 voices and was built at J. H. Jørgensen's Orgelfabrikk 1979–80.There are two church bells from Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry from 1978 as well as a carillon with 12 bells in the separate bell tower.Rødtvet Church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Grorud is a rapid transit station on the Oslo Metro. Located between Ammerud and Romsås on Grorud Line, it serves the Grorud borough. The station is located on the south side of a tunnel entrance. Above the station is a small cluster of shops and a small bus terminal. The station was the end station of the original section of the Grorud Line, which opened 16 October 1966, and remained the end station until it was extended to Rommen on 3 March 1974.

Kalbakken is part of the original stretch of the Grorud Line opened 16 October 1966. The Kalbakken neighbourhood is mostly residential. The subway station is located on a hill on the north side and much of the neighbourhood is within reasonable walking distance, such as the general shopping and food stores. The neighbourhood also has a riding school, a library, a public swimming pool and activity centers for both seniors and adolescents, all of which are located in the Nordtvet area of Kalbakken.

Grorud is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. The borough contains the Ammerud, Grorud, Kalbakken, Rødtvet, Nordtvet and Romsås areas. To the north of the borough is the forest of Lillomarka. The borough is the smallest in Oslo, with fewer than 30 000 inhabitants.The area now known as Grorud was mostly farm land until after World War II, an exception being Grorud proper, where mining was an important livelihood. Granite from Grorud is seen in many buildings in downtown Oslo - with the lion sculptures in front of Stortinget, the Norwegian Parliament being the most famous example. Textile industries were also a part of the urbanization of Grorud, with the river Alna and its waterfalls as power supply. The railway station at Grorud, from 1854, is one of the oldest in Norway and was a hub of the whole Grorud Valley for many years until the arrival of urbanization and the subway. Some of the old farms are still present in the Grorud landscape, although apartment buildings now are a more dominant part of the scenery. Traditionally a borough inhabited by the working class, Grorud has in the last few decades had a great influx of immigrants. The proportion of newborns with immigrant background was per. 2017 at 70%[1]. Because of these statistics Grorud is a recurring theme in Norwegian immigration politics.

Grorud Church is a cruciform church from 1902 located on the upper Grorud in Grorud in Oslo, Norway. The church is located on a hill and is visible from many parts of the Grorud Valley. The building is made of local Grorud Granite stone (Grefsensyenitt) and has 500 seats. Stone walls' uneven appearance, which gives the wall a live appearance, because the stones varies between roughly hewn uneven surface, and smooth surface. The smooth cut stones are centered on the corners and windows. Minister and landed on Linderud, Christian Pierre Mathiesen, gave the altar and baptismal silver dish to the church.There is a cemetery in addition to the church.Grorud Church is listed and protected by law by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Rødtvet is a residential area in the district of Grorud in Oslo, located just southwest of Grorud proper. The area was urbanized from the mid 1960s, and connected to the city centre with metro line 5 from 1966. Rødtvet has the forest Lillomarka as a neighbor to the north, and the residential areas Bredtvet, Kalbakken, Flaen and Nordtvet as its closest neighbors to the south. The area is named after Rødtvet farm (Rødtvetveien 14), which in the Middle Ages belonged to the monastery at Hovedøya. The name itself has not been possible to fully interpret. "Tvet" comes from the Old Norse Þveit, which means "small piece of land", while "rød" stands uninterpreted. The area was farmland until the 1800s, when a number of smaller industries appeared. Traces of mining, and of stone industries based on the local "Grorud granite" (mostly open pit mining), are still possible to observe in the Rødtvet terrain. Rødtvet school was inaugurated in 1962, the nursing home in 1969. The church was consecrated in 1978. Situated in rented facilities behind the church is today the Norwegian Hindu Cultural Centre, which annually hosts a large-scale festival that attracts Hindus from all over Northern Europe.

Bredtveit Prison (formally named Bredtveit Prison Service, Custody and Supervision Unit, Norwegian: Bredtveit fengsel, forvarings- og sikringsanstalt) is a prison located in the neighborhood of Bredtvet in Oslo, Norway. During World War II it was a concentration camp.

Rødtvet is a station on Grorud Line (Lines 4 and 5) of the Oslo Metro. The station is located in north-central Groruddalen, between the stations of Veitvet and Kalbakken, 9.5 kilometers (5.9 mi) from Stortinget. The station was opened 10 October 1966 as part of the original stretch of the Grorud Line. The station's architect was Karl Stenersen.

Bredtvet is a neighborhood in the borough of Bjerke in Oslo, Norway.The area is located on a ridge between the neighborhoods of Veitvet to the west and Kalbakken to the east. Its origin was as a farm of the same name. It is not mentioned in writings from the Middle Ages, but was at one time Crown land. Its first private owner is registered in 1662, and from 1817 to 1824 it was owned by Hans Nielsen Hauge.Bredtvet is also a parish in the Church of Norway, created in 1966 although Bredtvet church (Bredtvet kirke) was not erected until 1977. An obelisk with commemorative plaque honoring Hauge was raised in the church garden. Bredtvet is also known as the site of Bredtveit prison. An upper secondary school named Bredtvet was established in 1972, but closed down in 2008.

Nyland Station (Norwegian: Nyland holdeplass) is a railway station on the Trunk Line located in the Grorud borough of Oslo, Norway. Situated 9.30 kilometers (5.78 mi) from Oslo Central Station, it consists of two wooden side platforms along a double-tracked line. Nyland is served by the L1 line of the Norwegian State Railways's Oslo Commuter Rail. The station was opened on 17 June 1961, although an unofficial stop had been in place since 1942. It serves a mostly industrial area, including Mantena's rolling stock maintenance base.

Romsås is a subway station on the Grorud Line of the Oslo Metro in the Grorud borough. It is located in the tunnel between Grorud and Rommen. It's in a mountain and smells moist. Like Ellingsrudåsen, Romsås has natural mountain walls. The architect Håkon Mjelva together with civil engineer Elliot Strømme and entrepreneur F. Selmer were awarded the "Concrete board for outstanding construction" in 1976.
