Its building was constructed in 1934, the fourth of five new facilities built by Winona Public Schools in the early 20th century to implement progressive educational reforms. It was nominated for representing the 20th-century development of Winona Public Schools and for being a project of the Public Works Administration, the largest federal relief program of the New Deal.

The Basilica of Saint Stanislaus Kostka (Polish: Bazylika Świętego Stanisława Kostki) is a historic church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Winona in Winona, Minnesota, United States, and a prominent fixture on the city's skyline. Within the diocese it is better known as Saint Stan's. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 as Church of St. Stanislaus–Catholic and was designated as a Minor Basilica of the Roman Catholic Church on November 10, 2011 by Pope Benedict XVI.

Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge is a 6,808-acre (27.55 km2) National Wildlife Refuge located along the Upper Mississippi River in extreme southern Buffalo County and extreme southwestern Trempealeau County in Wisconsin, United States. There are two small private areas in the protected area. It is in part a wetland consisting of backwaters away from the Mississippi and Trempealeau River, and is a significant element of the Mississippi Flyway. It is part of the Driftless Area, a portion of North America which remained free of ice during the last ice age, creating in part the deep gorge of the Mississippi, quite visible from this refuge. It is also a sand prairie, including grasses such as big bluestem, indiangrass, and switchgrass capable of growing to eight to nine feet (2.4 to 2.7 m) in height.There is also bottomland forest in the reserve with river birch, swamp white oak and silver maple. The area is only separated from the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge by a railroad line. The Perrot State Park borders on the south. The Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge was recently extended by about 800 acre along the Trempealeau River. The North American river otter live in the area. Ten pairs of the sandhill crane breed in the National Wildlife Refuge. According to the bird list from the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge 263 bird species occur regularly in the area, 21 species exceptionally and 121 species breed. Known locally as the Polish Museum, it is housed in a lumber yard office built by the Laird-Norton Lumber Company in 1890, located at 102 Liberty Street in Winona, Minnesota, United States. The museum was formerly known as the Polish Cultural Institute and Museum, but has since updated its name to expand upon the highlights of the Kashubian culture within Winona.

Sugar Loaf Brewery or Bub's Brewery is a former brewery in Winona, Minnesota, United States. It was established in 1862 at the foot of Sugar Loaf, the prominent river bluff from which it took its name. The extant brewery complex, which includes storage caves dug into the bluff, dates from 1872 when the original building was destroyed by fire and a replacement built. The brewery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 for its local significance in the theme of industry. It was nominated for its association with prominent local brewer Peter Bub (d. 1911) and his successors, who produced beer on the site until 1969.The building has been converted into an antique mall, Treasures Under Sugar Loaf.
