Central Telegraph Office (Burmese: ဗဟိုကြေးနန်းရုံး) is a colonial-era landmark in Yangon, Myanmar (formerly Rangoon, Burma), designated in the Yangon City Heritage List. The building, located on the corner of Pansodan and Maha Bandula Roads, now houses the a government office, Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT). Central Telegraph Office was designed by John Begg, a government architect who had also designed other colonial era buildings in the city, including Custom House on Strand Road, and the Printing and Publishing Enterprise building. Construction for the four-story, steel-framed building, took place between 1913 and 1917, delivered by Clark & Greig. For a time, the building also housed the Burma Broadcasting Service.

The former High Court Building (Burmese: တရားရုံးချုပ်ဟောင်း) is a colonial-era building located at No. 89/133 Pansodan Street, between Maha Bandula Garden Street and Pansodan Street in Kyauktada Township, downtown Yangon.Until 2006, the Supreme Court of Myanmar was located at this complex. The High Court Building was designed by architect James Ransome, construction of the High Court began in 1905 and was completed in 1911, and is noted for its colonial-era Indo-Saracenic Architecture, including its clock tower and its red-bricked exterior. The building is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List. Located near Yangon City Hall, the building faces the Independence Monument and the Maha Bandula Park.

The Supreme Court of Myanmar (Burmese: ပြည်ထောင်စုတရားလွှတ်တော်ချုပ်) is the highest judicial forum and final court of appeal under the Constitution of Myanmar, existing as an independent judicial entity, alongside the legislative and executive branches. The Court is legally mandated to have 7 to 11 judges, including a Chief Justice.

The Embassy of the United Kingdom, Yangon, also called the British Embassy Yangon, is the United Kingdom’s main diplomatic mission to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Located at 80 Strand Road in Kyauktada Township, the embassy plays a key role in bilateral relations between the UK and Myanmar, including political dialogue, development assistance, trade cooperation, and consular services for British nationals.

Immanuel Baptist Church is a Baptist church in central Yangon at the corner of Mahar Bandoola Garden Street and Mahar Bandoola Road opposite Yangon City Hall.

Maha Bandula Garden Street (Burmese: မဟာဗန္ဓုလပန်းခြံလမ်း, formerly Barr Street) is a street of Yangon, Burma. It runs past Maha Bandula Park.

The Maha Bandula Park or Maha Bandula Garden (Burmese: မဟာဗန္ဓုလ ပန်းခြံ, pronounced [məhà bàɰ̃dṵla̰ páɰ̃dʑàɰ̃], also spelt Mahabandula or Mahabandoola) is a public park, located in downtown Yangon, Burma. The park is bounded by Maha Bandula Garden Street in the east, Sule Pagoda Road in the west, Konthe Road in the south and Maha Bandula Road in the north, and is surrounded by some of the important buildings in the area such as the Sule Pagoda, the Yangon City Hall and the High Court. The park is named after General Maha Bandula who fought against the British in the First Anglo-Burmese War (1824–1826).

Yangon City Hall (Burmese: ရန်ကုန်မြို့တော်ခန်းမ; YCH) is the city hall of Yangon, the largest city of Myanmar, and the seat of the city's administrative body, Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC). The building is considered a fine example of syncretic Burmese architecture, featuring traditional tiered roofs called pyatthat, and was designed by Burmese architect U Tin, who also designed Central Railway Station. Construction began in 1926 and ended in 1936. The city hall occupies the former site of the Ripon Hall.The city hall has been the focal point of several major political demonstrations, including a 1964 People's Peace Committee rally supported by Thakin Kodaw Hmaing, which attracted 200,000 people and was subsequently clamped down by Ne Win's military junta. and the site of several bombings, including one in 2000, 2008, and 2009.Centrally located in downtown Yangon, it is next to several important landmarks such as Sule Pagoda, Maha Bandula Park, High Court, and the Main Post Office. The building is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List.

Gandhi Hall, also known as Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Trust, is a building in downtown Yangon, Myanmar, on the Merchant Street corner of Bo Aung Kyaw Road. It was first used as the office of The Rangoon Times, one of the English-language newspapers in British Burma. Later, in 1951, it was bought by Prime Minister U Nu and Indian ambassador M. A. Rauf for the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Trust. The building is also part of the political history of Myanmar, as it was used for a gathering of elected representatives of the 1990 Myanmar election, who issued the Gandhi Hall Declaration in July 1990.

The Sule Pagoda (Burmese: ဆူးလေဘုရား; pronounced [sʰúlè pʰəjá]) is a Burmese Buddhist stupa located in the heart of downtown Yangon, occupying the centre of the city and an important space in contemporary Burmese politics, ideology and geography. According to legend, it was built before the Shwedagon Pagoda during the time of the Buddha, making it more than 2,600 years old. Burmese legend states that the site for the Shwedagon Pagoda was asked to be revealed from an old nat who resided at the place where the Sule Pagoda now stands. The Sule Pagoda has been the focal point of both Yangon and Burmese politics. It has served as a rallying point in the 1988 uprisings, 2007 Saffron Revolution and 2021 Spring Revolution. The pagoda is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List.

Kyauktada Township (Burmese: ကျောက်တံတား မြို့နယ် [tɕaʊʔdədá mjo̰nɛ̀]) is the center of downtown Yangon, Myanmar. The township consists of nine wards, and shares borders with Botataung Township in the east, Seikkan Township and Yangon River in the south, Pabedan Township in the west and Mingala Taungnyunt Township in the north.The township is home to many historic buildings, including the Sule Pagoda, the City Hall, the High Court Building, the Strand Hotel as well as embassies of the UK and India. Three of the tallest buildings in Yangon, the Traders Hotel (now Sule Shangri-La), the Sakura Tower, and the Center Point Tower are located in Kyauktada. Many government offices are headquartered here. Maha Bandula Park across from Sule Pagoda and the city hall is a major recreational area in the downtown area. The township has five primary schools, one middle school and one high school. Many of its school children attend high schools in nearby townships of Botataung and Pabedan.

The Muslim Free Hospital (Burmese: မွတ်စ်လင်ကုသိုလ်ဖြစ်ဆေးရုံ) was established as a small dispensary in 1937 in Yangon, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and gradually it has come up to the present status of a 160 bedded hospital.The chief aims and objectives of the hospital are to help the poor, the needy and the sick without discrimination of caste, creed or colour. The hospital is one of many in Myanmar run purely on a voluntary means and raises funds to treat people. The hospital comprises three buildings; main on the Maha Bandula Garden Street and two buildings on the 35th Street and are connected by over head bridges. The author and human rights activist Ma Thida has worked as a surgeon at the hospital.
