Firbank

Holy Trinity Church stands in a country lane near the hamlet of Howgill, between Sedbergh and Tebay, Cumbria, England. It is an active Anglican church in the deanery of Kendal, the archdeaconry of Westmorland and the Anglican Diocese of Carlisle. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

St Gregory's Church, Vale of Lune, also known as the Vale of Lune Chapel, is a redundant Anglican church situated on the A684 road about 1.5 miles (2 km) to the west of Sedbergh, Cumbria, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Beck Foot is a hamlet in Cumbria, England, situated on the B6257 road south of Lowgill, the West Coast Main Line and M6 motorway. The disused Lowgill Viaduct is close by.

Firbank Fell is a hill in Cumbria between the towns of Kendal and Sedbergh that is renowned as a place where George Fox, the founder of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), preached. Fox described what happened there on 13 June 1652 in this way: While others were gone to dinner, I went to a brook, got a little water, and then came and sat down on the top of a rock hard by the chapel. In the afternoon the people gathered about me, with several of their preachers. It was judged there were above a thousand people; to whom I declared God's everlasting truth and Word of life freely and largely for about the space of three hours. Because of Fox's preaching there, the site is sometimes called "Fox's Pulpit." A plaque on the rock there commemorates the event, which is sometimes considered the beginning of the Friends movement. Firbank Fell is now immortalised as a place of Quaker history in one of the four houses at the Quaker school Bootham School.

Low Gill railway station served the hamlet of Lowgill, Westmorland (now in Cumbria), England, from 1846 to 1966 on the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway.

Ingmire Hall is a grade II listed 16th-century country house some 2 miles west of Sedbergh, Cumbria, England. It dates mainly from the 16th-century and includes a pele tower. The house was first erected for the Upton family. The house was expanded in the Victorian era, by a local architect, George Webster, and further extended in the 20th century. A fire in the 1920s caused major damage but the 1980s saw restoration work on the house. It is constructed of rubble stone, with a slate roof. The hall is privately-owned but a public footpath follows the drive.The Ingmire estate was acquired by Roger Upton in the late 16th century, who left it to his son John Upton, MP for Preston, 1667–81. The property eventually descended in the female line to John Upton, MP for Westmorland, 1761-68. It then descended further in the Upton family until it was acquired by Sir John Sutherland Harmood-Banner, High Sheriff of Cheshire (1902), Lord Mayor of Liverpool (1912) and MP for Liverpool Everton for 20 years. After his death in 1927 the hall was gutted by fire but was afterwards restored.

Sedbergh railway station was in the West Riding of Yorkshire, on the Ingleton Branch Line, about half a mile (1 km) west of Sedbergh, open to passengers from 1861 to 1954. The town now lies in Cumbria following boundary changes in 1974.

Brigflatts Meeting House or Briggflatts Meeting House is a Friends Meeting House of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), near Sedbergh, Cumbria, in north-western England. Built in 1675, it is the second oldest Friends Meeting House in England. It has been listed Grade I on the National Heritage List for England since March 1954. It is the subject of a twelve-line poem titled "At Briggflatts meetinghouse" by British modernist poet Basil Bunting. Bunting's poem was written in 1975 for the 300th anniversary of the meeting house's construction.Throughout its history, the spelling has varied from Brigflatts, Brigflats, Briggflats, or Briggflatts, for both the village and the Quaker Meeting. Currently, the Quaker Meeting uses the spelling "Brigflatts". The variant spelling with two g's and two t's was used by Bunting for his two poems, "At Briggflatts Meetinghouse" (1975) and the earlier autobiographical long poem Briggflatts (1965). The Meeting House 'Howgills' in Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire is based on Brigflatts.

The River Rawthey is a river in Cumbria in northwest England. The headwaters of the Rawthey are at Rawthey Gill Foot, where Rawthey Gill meets Haskhaw Gill. The source of Rawthey Gill is unclear, but is either on Knoutberry Haw or near to the East Tarns of Baugh Fell. Moving initially northwards, the Rawthey picks up Whin Stone Gill in Uldale before skirting round Bluecaster, after which the river runs south-southwest through Cautley. The Rawthey is joined by the Clough River, coming from Garsdale, near Dowbiggin, and, having run past Castleshaw Tower, the River Dee close to Sedbergh. The Rawthey joins the Lune at Stangerthwaite soon afterwards. Most of the country through which the Rawthey runs is part of the historic West Riding of Yorkshire.

Grayrigg railway station in Lambrigg parish, was situated on the course of the original Lancaster and Carlisle Railway (L&CR) (the West Coast Main Line) between Lancaster and Penrith. It served the village and rural district of Grayrigg, Cumbria, England. The new station opened in November 1861, and closed on 1 February 1954 replacing the L&CR station that was located two miles (3.2 km) west of the station and closed in 1861.

The River Dee is a river running through the extreme south east of Cumbria, a part of the Craven region traditionally part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Its name possibly derives from Brythonic deva meaning goddess, or from Dent or Dentdale, through which the river flows.The river rises above Dent Head Farm (on the Dales Way), formed from several smaller streams emanating from Blea Moor Moss, the River Dee makes its way northward past Stone House, where it is joined by Arten Gill, to Cowgill, where it turns left into Dentdale. In Dentdale, it picks up the waters of Deepdale Beck (travelling north from Whernside) before passing Dent and Gawthrop.The river later passes Lenacre and Rash on its way to meeting the River Rawthey at Catholes, near the town of Sedbergh. The old water mill at Rash Bridge is thought to have been an inspiration for the folk song "The Jolly Miller of Dee".The Rawthey goes on to join the River Lune.

Lambrigg is a civil parish in the South Lakeland district of the English county of Cumbria. It includes the hamlets of Cross Houses and Lambrigg Head, and the hill of Lambrigg Fell. The parish has a population of 90. As the population taken at the 2011 Census was less than 100, data was included with the parish of Docker.
