The Lehigh Valley Silk Mills were a collection of mills located in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania in the 19th and 20th centuries. The industry began in 1881 and thrived throughout the Second Industrial Revolution. The Lehigh Valley Silk Mills also refers to a specific company that owned the Lipps & Sutton Silk Mill and Warren Mill. The first silk mill in the Lehigh Valley opened in 1881 and was followed by the opening of many others. By 1900, there were twenty-three silk establishments in the Lehigh Valley, making Pennsylvania the second largest producer of silk in the world. The silk industry in Pennsylvania peaked in the late 1920s due to cheap labor, mainly from immigrant workers' children and wives. However, after the Great Depression, increasing labor unrest and competition from other textile industries began to affect the silk industry locally and nationally. By 1953, Allentown had become the number one silk city in the world, but even then, the number of looms had decreased. At the time, only six mills continued to work with silk exclusively. Other mills either shut down due to bankruptcy or shifted to the production synthetic fibers.

Fountain Hill Historic District is a national historic district located at Bethlehem, Lehigh County and Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Despite the name, it is mostly excludes the borough of Fountain Hill, which is an independent municipality located mostly to the southwest of the district. The district includes 44 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure. The buildings include elaborate, architecturally distinctive mansions, smaller managers' and merchants' dwellings, and public church buildings. The mansions are the focus of the district and include the Linderman / Schwab Mansion (c. 1870), Robert Sayre House (c. 1857), and Elisha Packer Wilbur Mansion (c. 1863). Notable non-residential buildings include the Masonic Temple and Cathedral Church of the Nativity (c. 1866). The Hill to Hill Bridge is also included in the district. Located in the district is the separately listed Lehigh Valley Railroad Headquarters Building.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Lehigh Valley Railroad Headquarters Building, also known as the Conrail Building, is an historic American office building that is located in Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Fountain Hill is a borough in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population of Fountain Hill was 4,832 at the 2020 census, an increase over the figure of 4,597 tabulated in 2010. It is part of the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area, which had a population of 861,899 and was the 68th-most populous metropolitan area in the U.S. as of the 2020 census.

The Hill to Hill Bridge is a road crossing of the Lehigh River and linking the south and north sides of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. Completed in 1924, Hill to Hill Bridge carries Pennsylvania Route 378 from Wyandotte Street on Bethlehem's south side to a series of ramps and viaducts on the north side. It replaced a two-lane covered bridge and eliminated several grade crossings of three railroads on the two banks of the Lehigh River. The Hill to Hill Bridge is located in the Central Bethlehem Historic District and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 with a boundary increase to the designation added in 1988.

Bethlehem Union Station is a former train station located in the South Side neighborhood of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1924 by the Lehigh Valley Railroad and the Reading Company, replacing an earlier station built in 1867. Passenger service to Philadelphia on the SEPTA Regional Rail Bethlehem Line lasted until 1981. The station was renovated in 2002 and used for medical clinics beginning in 2003. It is owned by St. Luke's Hospital.

Bethlehem Armory also known as Floyd Simons Armory, is a historic National Guard armory located in Bethlehem in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1930, and is an "I"-plan brick building in three sections. It consists of a two-story administration building, drill hall, and kitchen / locker room executed in the Art Deco style. It measures 82 by 102 feet (25 by 31 m), and has a hipped roof. Additions were built in 1938 and 1968.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Bethlehem is a disused train station in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It was constructed by the Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) in 1873. Passenger service to the station ended in 1967. A restaurant opened within the station in 1976, and the building has continued to serve that role through several changes in ownership. The station is located on the north side of the Lehigh River, near Monocacy Creek, east of Main Street and south of East Lehigh Street. Another disused station, Union Station, is located on the south side of the Lehigh River.

The Bethlehem Waterworks, also known as the Old Waterworks or 1762 Waterworks, is believed to be the oldest pump-powered public water supply in what is now the United States. The pumphouse, which includes original and replica equipment, is located in the Colonial Industrial Quarter of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, between Monocacy Creek and Main Street. It was declared a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1971, a American Water Landmark in 1971, and a National Historic Landmark in 1981.The building is a contributing property to the Historic Moravian Bethlehem District, which was designated as a National Historic Landmark District in 2012 and later named to the U.S. Tentative List in 2016 for nomination to the World Heritage List.

The Tannery is a historic tannery building constructed by the colonial Moravians in Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It is a limestone building built in 1761, and is part of the Bethlehem Colonial Industrial Quarter.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The building is part of the Historic Moravian Bethlehem District which was designated as a National Historic Landmark District in 2012 and later nominated to the U.S. Tentative List in 2016 for consideration to become a World Heritage Site.
