Hammond High School (Indiana)

Hammond Civic Center is a 4,500-seat multi-purpose arena located in Hammond, Indiana. The arena opened in 1938. It is well known for hosting various local concerts, and sporting events such WWE Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, mixed martial arts fighting and roller derby, for the area. In the 1950s, it played host to a number of neutral-court National Basketball Association games. It is the home arena for the Calumet College of St. Joseph's Crimson Wave basketball and volleyball teams, which play in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Civic Center first became known to professional sports fans as the home to the Hammond Rollers of the now defunct American Basketball Association. American rock band Kiss played at the Civic Center on Easter Sunday in April 1986, causing local church groups to protest the event. During the show, Kiss blew out half of the windows on the outside west wall of the Civic Center. The sound system they used on this tour was rated at 120 decibels. Before the show, Gene Simmons and Eric Carr of the band walked around the perimeter of the building, trying to hold polite conversations with the church groups. The concert went on as scheduled. Largely due to the church protest controversy, the concert sold only 1,900 tickets. The Civic Center plays host to various well-attended professional sporting events. On September 9, 2012, K.O. Sports Promotions hosted a boxing card for a capacity crowd at the Civic Center, with the main event featuring former United States Boxing Organization cruiserweight champion Carl Davis (boxer) in an eight-round heavyweight bout against former number one heavyweight contender Bert Cooper.

State Bank of Hammond Building is a historic bank building located at 5444-5446 Calumet Avenue in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. It was built in 1927, and was designed by Chicago architects Vitzthum & Burns. It is a two-story, Classical Revival style brick, concrete, and steel building on a full basement. The front facade is faced in terra cotta and features a colossal entry portico with two engaged square columns and two fluted round columns. The Northern States Life Insurance Company ceased operation in 1931, and the building subsequently housed the Calumet State Bank from 1933 until 1935, and later a license bureau and other retail and office uses.: 2, 4 It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Pullman–Standard Historic District is a national historic district located at Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. The district encompasses 121 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites in a predominantly residential section of Hammond. It developed between about 1916 and 1918, with some later additions, and includes notable example of Colonial Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman styles of residential architecture. Most of the homes were originally constructed by the United States Housing Corporation as Industrial Housing Project No. 457. There are three main housing types: Single-family dwellings, duplexes, and quadplexes.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The American Conservatory of Music, Inc., of Hammond, Indiana, is a binational music school that operates under the auspices of the Orthodox Church of Belize, which is part of the Greek Orthodox Metropolitanate of Central America, one of the 18 Archdioceses and Metropolitinates under the Patriarchate of Constantinople. The Conservatory was founded in 1992 with the intent to save, by becoming successor, a 105-year-old Chicago institution by the same name, American Conservatory of Music, which was shuttered in 1991 as a result of full liquidation under a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The new institution was first located in Chicago—it took over the lease of the bankrupt Conservatory at 17 N. State Street, Stevens Building, but in 1998, moved to 4117 Wabash Avenue, Hammond, Indiana, 24 miles away. The building in Hammond was, from 1904 to 1940, the factory of the Straube Piano Company. Today, the institution is located at 252 Wildwood Road in Hammond and at 16 Maxi Street, Santa Elena, Belize.

Northern States Life Insurance Company is a historic office building located at Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. It was built in 1926, and is a two-story, Classical Revival style limestone building on a partially exposed basement. It features an elevated terrace, engaged columns, and sculptural panels with low relief carvings. The Northern States Life Insurance Company ceased operation in 1930, and the building subsequently housed radio station WWAE (1938-1940), a branch library (1945-1965), Purdue University extension service (1943-1946), Hammond school administrative offices (1946-1984), and school.: 5–6, 16, 23 It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Southmoor Apartment Hotel is a historic apartment hotel located at Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. It was built in 1928, and is a five-story, "L"-plan building with a reinforced concrete frame and hollow tile exterior sheathed in brick and terra cotta. The building is in the Spanish Colonial Revival style.: 5 It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Glendale Park Historic District is a national historic district located at Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. The district encompasses 13 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in an exclusively residential section of Hammond. It developed between about 1905 and 1926, and includes notable example of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, Prairie School and Bungalow / American Craftsman styles of residential architecture. The houses are arranged along a parkway with Glendale Park in the center.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

State Street Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. The district encompasses 28 contributing buildings in the central business district of Hammond. It developed between about 1885 and 1946, and includes notable example of Commercial, Classical Revival, Late Gothic Revival, and Art Deco style architecture. Notable buildings include the L. Fish Building (1927), Federal Building (1939), Lincoln Hotel (1923), Seifer Building (1925), and the Henderson Building (1902).It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

It developed between about 1913 and 1950, and includes notable example of Renaissance Revival, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and English Cottage style residential architecture.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Hammond ( HAM-ənd) is a city in Lake County, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, and the only city in Indiana to border Chicago. First settled in the mid-19th century, it is one of the oldest cities of northern Lake County. Notable buildings include Knott's Apartments (1904), Emmerling Ambulance Garage (1918), Emmerling Building (1918), St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church Complex (Church, 1912–1914; Rectory, c. 1915; Hall, 1956), LaSalle Hotel (aka Hotel Mee, 1908), OK Building (1913), and the Hammond National Bank (aka Ruff Building, 1911).: 3 It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
