Agastheeswaram is a panchayat town in Kanniyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Agastheeswaram Agastheeswarar Temple (அகத்தீச்சுரம் அகத்தீசுவரர் கோயில்) is a Hindu temple located at Vadugan Patru in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. The presiding deity is Shiva. He is called as Agastheeswarar. His consort is known as Amuthavalli.

Kottaram is a village located in Kanyakumari district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kottaram the word origin from Malayalam meaning Palace. So Kottaram means not only a village but also a Palace because 18th & the beginning of the 19th century Kottaram village was ruled by Travancore Maharajas and they have constructed Guest Houses for them. There are several temples and churches in Kottaram. People from surrounding villages flock to Kottaram. It is very close to Kanyakumari, Vattakottai, and Marunthuvazh Malai. The Government fruit farm and a bi-weekly farmers market (Thali Aruthaan Chanthai) are also present nearby.

Muhilankudieruppu is a village located in Agasteeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, India. Located 4 km from Kanyakumari and 16 km from Nagercoil (capital town of Kanyakumari on the road connecting Kanyakumari with Nagercoil and nearest city Trivandrum (Kerala). It is the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent and the southernmost city in mainland India, and thus referred to as "The Land's End". The city is situated 90 kilometres (56 mi) south of Thiruvananthapuram city, and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Nagercoil, the headquarters of Kanniyakumari district. Kanniyakumari is a popular tourist destination and pilgrimage centre in India. Notable tourist spots include its unique sunrise and sunset points, the 41-metre (133 ft) Thiruvalluvar Statue, and Vivekananda Rock Memorial off the coast. Lying at the tip of peninsular India, the town is bordered on the west, south, and east by the Laccadive Sea. It has a coastline of 71.5 kilometres (44.4 mi) stretched along these three sides.On the shores of the city is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kanniyakumari (the virgin Goddess), after which the town is named. Kanniyakumari has been a city since the Sangam period and was referred to in old Malayalam literature and in the accounts of Ptolemy and Marco Polo.

Thamaraikulam Pathi (Tamil: தாமரைகுளம் பதி), is one among the Pancha pathi, the five holy places of Ayyavazhi. The Ari Gopalan Citar, who wrote the Akilam was born here. Thamaraikulam Pathi was built by (present constructions) Pathi first Guru.Ponnaranainjavan Udaiyakutti in his land. Akilathirattu Ammanai Written by Arigopalancidar in Thamaraikulam Pathi. This was considered as a Pathi because the Akilam was written down here, which was one among the incarnational activities of Vaikundar. When Ayya Vaikudar came out from the sea (after his first vinchai) he decided and planned to do meditation at here only. This is the first place he visited and started his first pathi. This is the First pathi in the All Pancha pathi's. During the times of Ayya Vaikunder, he was taken once in a year in a Vahana by the devotees to this Pathi.

The village has a pond of almost lake size at the entrance. Next to the pond is a river, Puthanar Channel. Next comes the 120+ years old CSI Church, the newly built Church is very nice. The village has about 300 families of different religions. The main occupation of the local people is agriculture. This village is located on the way to kanyKumari from nagercoil.

The constituency is located in the southern corner of mainland India, comprising the popular tourist destination Kanyakumari. In 2011 election, it had 237,410 total number of voters, consisting of 120,372 males and 117,038 females. Nadars formed the majority of the electorate. Kanyakumari will be one of 17 assembly constituencies to have VVPAT facility with EVMs in 2016 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. It is one of the 234 State Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Tamil Nadu.

Swamithoppu Pathi (Tamil: சுவாமிதோப்பு பதி, Swamithoppu-pathi, Manavai-pathi, Detchana-pathi or Thamarai-pathi) is the primary pathi of the Ayyavazhi and the sacred venue of the Tavam. Swamithope is considered primary among the Pancha pathi and the primary centre of the incarnational activities of Vaikundar. According to the Ayyavazhi legends, Lord Vaikundar, an incarnation of Lord Narayana, carried out his tavam at Poovantanthoppe, attracting many followers across India. Upon his death, Lord Vaikundar is believed to have been interred there, with the square-shaped 'pathi' constructed to envelop him. The holy book Akilathirattu ammanai of Ayyavazhi refers to the temple as "Thoppuppathi".
