Mount Makiling

The National Arts Center is a building complex situated in Mount Makiling, Los Baños, Laguna, the Philippines. The establishment was inaugurated in 1976. Its theater is the Tanghalang Maria Makiling or the NAC Center, which has an audience capacity of 1,000 people.The complex occupies a total area of 13.5 hectares (33 acres) at the Makiling Forest Reservation. Most of its facilities are operated by the Philippine High School for the Arts except the Pugad Adarna, which is run by the Cultural Center of the Philippines.Venues aside from the theater include the Pugad Aliguyon or the Marvilla Cottages, the Pugad Adarna or Executive House, a two-story clubhouse called the Bulwagang Sarimanok, and the St. Marc's Chapel. The chapel's cross was designed by Leandro Locsin and features an outline of a crucified Jesus Christ.

The University of the Philippines Los Baños College of Forestry and Natural Resources (also referred to as CFNR) is one of the 11 degree-granting units of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). It started as the Forest School under the UP College of Agriculture in 1910, making it the oldest forestry school in the Philippines. It is one of the five founding units of UPLB upon its establishment in 1972.The college has been identified as a "Center of Excellence" in forestry by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education since January 2000. CFNR offers one undergraduate degree program (Bachelor of Science in Forestry) along with four other graduate degree programs and one two-year certificate program. Two of its professors, including its one of its deans, are members of the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change, the 2007 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Makiling–Banahaw (Mak–Ban) Geothermal Power Plant is a 458-MW geothermal power station complex in Laguna and Batangas, Philippines.The facility and the geothermal field are named after Makiling and Banahaw mountains.

The UPLB Museum of Natural History (also known as MNH) is a natural science and natural history museum within the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) campus. It serves as a center for documentation, research, and information of flora and fauna of the Philippines. The museum is one of the research and extension units of the UPLB and its role parallels that of a library for written records.

Los Baños (IPA: [lɔs bɐˈɲɔs]), officially the Municipality of Los Baños (Tagalog: Bayan ng Los Baños), colloquialy 'elbi' or simply LB, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Laguna, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 115,353 people.It has a total land area of 56.5 square kilometers (21.8 sq mi) and is bordered on the south and south-west by Mount Makiling and Santo Tomas in Batangas, on the north by Laguna de Bay, on the north-west by Calamba and on the east by the town of Bay. The town is located 63 kilometers (39 mi) southeast of Manila and is easily accessible via the South Luzon Expressway along with Manila South Road and Calamba–Pagsanjan Road. The municipality lies on the northern slopes of the long dormant volcano Mount Makiling and is known among tourists for its hot spring resorts. Los Baños also hosts two constituent universities of the University of the Philippines System: the University of the Philippines Los Baños and University of the Philippines Open University, along with other foreign and local and international research centers, such as the International Rice Research Institute, the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity, the Philippine Rice Research Institute, Philippine Carabao Center at UPLB, and SEAMEO-SEARCA, making the town a temporary home for tens of thousands of both local and foreign undergraduate and graduate students, researchers and support staff. Los Baños was declared as the Special Science and Nature City of the Philippines through Presidential Proclamation No. 349. The proclamation, however, does not convert the municipality to a city or give it corporate powers that are accorded to other cities. Aside from its importance in academics, science and research, Los Baños is a well-known tourist destination. Because of the town's proximity to Metro Manila, Los Baños's hot spring resorts are frequent weekend or summer getaways for residents of the vast metropolis and tourists from other places in the Philippines and abroad. Tourists who visit Los Baños also come to the several native delicacies stores in the town to buy the town's famous buko pie (coconut meat pie) as well as a home-grown brand of chocolate cake. Currently, it is Laguna's richest municipality in terms of assets amounting to ₱652.95 million as of 2017.

On September 1, 2019, a Beechcraft King Air 350 crashed into a tourist resort in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines while performing a medevac flight from Dipolog to Manila. All nine occupants aboard were killed in the crash.

Light Industry and Science Park (LISP) is the name of a series of industrial parks in the Philippines owned and developed by Science Park of the Philippines. It has six locations, namely: LISP I in Cabuyao, Laguna, LISP II in Calamba, Laguna, LISP III in Santo Tomas, Batangas, LISP IV in Malvar, Batangas, Cebu Light Industrial Park (CLIP) in Lapu-Lapu City, and Hermosa Ecozone Industrial Park (HEIP) in Hermosa, Bataan. LISP II, which is located in Barangay Real, Calamba, Laguna, sold out after two years. It has an area of 68 ha (170 acres) and is home to 24 locators which employ more than 10,000 people. LISP II is 6.3 kilometers (3.9 mi) from LISP-I, located in Barangay Diezmo, Cabuyao in Laguna, Philippines.

The College of Public Affairs and Development (CPAf) is one of the colleges in University of the Philippines Los Baños. It offers graduate instruction, research and extension programs that center on the study of communities in transition and their institution such as resource access, governance, policy and education, inter alia, and the intrinsic interplay among the institutions. It can be found at the forestry area or the upper campus of the university. That is approximately a hundred meters from the entrance to the UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources.

Masili station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Laguna, Philippines. It is a flag stop for the line as there are no platforms yet being erected, temporary stairs for the trains are added in the meantime to facilitate loading and unloading.

Pansol station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. The station once had a rail yard with four tracks. The single main line track had a long passing loop that contained another, shorter passing loop. It also contained a refuge which led to a ballast pit. The station is 60 km from Tutuban.The station is considered abandoned until 2019; the platform is its only noticeable vestige. The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is one of the 11 degree-granting units of the University of the Philippines at Los Baños. It is the country's first veterinary school. Aside from teaching, CVM also undertakes research in various fields of veterinary medicine, including animal production and veterinary public health, and provides client-oriented veterinary services in urban and rural areas. The college is composed of three departments - Basic Veterinary Sciences, Veterinary Paraclinical Sciences, and Veterinary Clinical Sciences. CVM has 93 personnel consisting of 38 faculty members, 48 administrative staff and 7 research and extension personnel. CVM is the only veterinary school in the country offering a Master of Science degree in Veterinary Medicine.
