The Sterling Hill Historic District in Bridgeport, Connecticut is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. The district is a two-block area of 43 urban residential structures dating as far back as 1821. Most of the buildings are from later in the 19th century when the neighborhood was largely occupied by Irish working-class residents. Most of the early buildings are vernacular wood-frame structures with modest Federal, Greek Revival, or Gothic Revival details, while the later additions include multiunit tenement-style buildings. The area includes the oldest urbanized part of the city.

The Golden Hill Historic District encompasses a well-preserved formerly residential area on the northwest fringe of downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut. Located mainly on Lyon Terrace, Gold Hill Street, and Congress Street, the district includes 11 formerly residential buildings now mainly in commercial use, which were built between about 1890 and 1930. It also includes Bridgeport City Hall (a 1916 high school building which has been repurposed), and the Golden Hill United Methodist Church. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Palace and the Majestic are a pair of historic performance and film venues at 1315-1357 Main Street in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut. Built in 1921-22 by Sylvester Z. Poli in a single building that also housed a hotel, they were in their heyday a posh and opulent sight, designed by noted theater architect Thomas W. Lamb. The building has stood vacant and decaying since the 1970s, despite repeated attempts to restore its grandeur. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The East Washington Avenue Bridge refers to the bridges that have connected East Washington Avenue over the Pequonnock River in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Records state that a bridge was first constructed on the site in 1836, but no description of the bridge has been found. The second bridge was a truss swing design and underwent heavy repair and modernization in 1893. The third design was a movable Strauss underneath-counter weight deck-girder bascule bridge. The plans were drafted by James A. McElroy, using Joseph B. Strauss's design in 1916. However, construction was delayed for years because of a dispute with the contractor and a lack of funds. The bridge was completed by Bridgeport Dry Dock and Dredging when the State of Connecticut appropriated $350,000 to erect the bridge. Completed in 1925, the bridge underwent several modifications throughout its service life. On July 26, 1983, the bridge was closed after it was found to be in danger of collapse. It reopened after repair, but was closed in the 1990s before being replaced with a modern bascule bridge in 1998. In 2010, the report listed the deck and superstructure conditions as "Good" and the substructure condition as "Satisfactory".

Bridgeport Correctional Center is a high-security state jail for men in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was built in 1958 and received its first inmates the same year. It houses both pre-trial defendants and sentenced offenders for the courts of Ansonia, Derby, Milford, Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford.

The Grand Street Bridge was a double-leaf deck-girder bascule bridge in Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States, that spanned the Pequonnock River and connected Grand Street and Artic Street. It was one of three movable bridges planned by the City of Bridgeport in 1916 at the request of the War Department during World War I. Construction was completed in 1919, but the delays surrounding the construction went to the Connecticut Supreme Court in case of Edward DeV. Tompkins, Inc. vs. City of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The court ruled in favor of Tompkins and awarded damages equal to the contract. In 1936, the bridge had excessive settling and required the replacement of its southeast pier. As part of the repairs, a new floor and electrical system were installed. In 1965, the floor was replaced with a steel grate on I-beam floor. In 1984, the eastern approach span was replaced and the northwest trunnion post was reconstructed. The bridge was closed in the 1990s and dismantled in 1999.

The Fairfield County Courthouse, also known as the Court of Common Pleas, is located at 172 Golden Hill Street in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut. It is also known as Geographical Area (GA) Courthouse No. 2 at Bridgeport. It is a Richardsonian Romanesque brick building built in 1888. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It still functions as a courthouse where all but the most serious criminal cases are heard.

The Bridgeport Downtown North Historic District encompasses a portion of the commercial downtown of Bridgeport, Connecticut. It isroughly bounded on the north by Congress Street, the east by Water and Middle Streets, the south by Fairfield Avenue, and the west by Lyon Terrace (although it does not include any properties on the latter street), roughly the northeastern quadrant of the downtown area. It is one of two large clusters of historically significant commercial and civic buildings (the other is the Bridgeport Downtown South Historic District) encapsulating the city's growth as an urban industrial and regional government center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
