The McIntyre House is a historic mansion built in 1898 and located at 259 E. 7th Ave. in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It was designed by architect Frederick Albert Hale. The home was listed by the National Park Service on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.According to its NRHP nomination, the house was commissioned by Gilbert S. "Gill" Peyton and first called "Peyton Hall."Peyton, a Nebraska pharmacist who perfected and patented a cyanide-based method for extracting gold dust from mud, previously made his way to Utah where he and his partners purchased the largely abandoned Mercur Mine and became wealthy. The house was sold in 1901 to fellow mining executive William H. McIntyre who also founded the McIntyre Ranch, one of the largest working ranches in Canada. His descendants lived in "McIntyre House" until the property was purchased by the president of the LDS Church in 1963 for use by LDS Hospital and Brigham Young University College of Nursing and renamed "Colonial House."Following fifty years of institutional usage, in 2013 the property returned to its previous name and private ownership when a family purchased and restored the residence.

The Meditation Chapel is located in Salt Lake City's Memory Grove, in the U.S. state of Utah. The structure was built by Mr. and Mrs. Ross Beason in 1948 to commemorate their son and others killed during World War II. It is made of Georgian marble, a copper roof, and bronze doors. The Memory Grove Foundation restored the chapel's stained glass windows, earning the group a Utah Heritage Foundation Heritage Award in 1999.

Memory Grove, formerly known as Memory Park and sometimes called Memory Grove Park, is a park in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Established as a war memorial at the mouth of City Creek Canyon in 1924, the park "spawned a long tradition of support and involvement by private, civil, fraternal, military, and political organizations, and its evolution over the span of five generations reflects Utah's changing values along with her participation in world events", according to William G. Love of Utah Historical Quarterly.

145th Field Artillery Monument is a memorial in Salt Lake City's Memory Grove, in the U.S. state of Utah. Dedicated in 1927, the monument was erected by the 145th Field Artillery and has a gray granite shaft and circular bench. The bas-relief sculpture depicts horses and men. The memorial once featured a sundial.

The Pagoda (also known as the World War I Memorial or World War I Monument) is a memorial designed by Slack Winburn, installed in Salt Lake City's Memory Grove in the U.S. state of Utah. Built as the park's first memorial, using marble from Vermont, the classical structure has eight Doric columns. The shaft and urn were added in 1932.

The William F. Beer Estate, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It included four contributing buildings.The main house, at 181 B Street, is a four-story 26-room, sandstone and brick house built in 1898–99. It is a work of architect Richard K.A. Kletting.The "Small House", at 222 Fourth Avenue, is two-story pioneer era structure built with fired brick on a sandstone rubble foundation. It was probably built before 1880 and is one of the oldest buildings in The Avenues neighborhood.It was home of physician Dr. William Francis Beer (1870-1949), who was a charter member and honorary president of the Utah Medical Society. He also was involved in mining. During World War I he attended German prisoners of war at Fort Douglas, Utah. Due to his effort in bringing the men through the influenza epidemic without any fatalities, he received an Iron Cross from Paul von Hindenberg in the early 1930s.

City Creek is a small but historically important mountain stream that flows from City Creek Canyon and across part of Salt Lake City, Utah, and into the Jordan River which empties into the Great Salt Lake. City Creek's head is about 8 miles (13 km) up City Creek Canyon northeast of Downtown Salt Lake City. The entire stream measures only about 14.5 miles (23 km) long. Melting snow from adjacent mountains provides most of City Creek's currents, but the stream flows year-round because of natural springs at the head of the creek. Until 1882 City Creek served as the city's primary water supply, and it continues to provide drinking water to The Avenues and northern parts of Salt Lake City.

The Avenues is an affluent neighborhood in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is named after the perfectly gridlike, closely laid out roads called Avenues (numbers, 1st - 18th) and Streets (letters, A - V). First surveyed in the 1850s, the Avenues became Salt Lake City's first neighborhood. Today, the Avenues neighborhood is generally considered younger, more progressive, and somewhat "artsy" when compared to other neighborhoods. Many young professionals choose to live there due to the culture and easy commute to downtown.. It is also one of the most important strongholds of the Utah Democratic Party.
