Eastern River

The Little River is a tidal channel connecting at each end with the Kennebec River in the town of Perkins in the U.S. state of Maine. It passes to the west of Little Swan Island while the main stem of the Kennebec passes to the east.

Perkins Township (Swan Island) is an unorganized territory in Sagadahoc County, Maine, United States. Originally incorporated as the town of Perkins, it was later abandoned, and has been uninhabited since the 1940s. The township comprises Swan Island, Little Swan Island and some tidal flats—all within the Kennebec River between the towns of Richmond and Dresden. The Swan Island Historic District comprises most of the township, with eight buildings, five structures and 1,500 acres (610 ha). Some of the buildings date to the 1750s. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The entire township is now protected as the Steve Powell Wildlife Management Area, and is under the jurisdiction of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Camping, hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing are permitted between May and October; reservations are required.

The Dresden Brick School House is a historic school building on Maine State Route 128 in Dresden, Maine. Built in 1816, it is one of the oldest surviving brick district school buildings in the state. It is now a museum property, owned by the local historical society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Dresden is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States, that was incorporated in 1794. The population was 1,725 at the 2020 census.

The Maine Kennebec Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Kennebec River between Richmond and Dresden, Maine. It was built in 2014 to replace the 84-year-old Richmond-Dresden Bridge, a swing bridge that had previously acted as the only method of crossing the river in that area. The Maine Kennebec Bridge is significantly taller than the old bridge, and was designed for at least 75 feet (23 meters) of clearance during high tide, allowing boats to pass without the need for a swing-span design.

Richmond is a town in Sagadahoc County, Maine, United States. The population was 3,522 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area, situated at the head of Merrymeeting Bay. Richmond is located adjacent to the 2,019 acre state-owned and managed Steve Powell Wildlife Management Area on Swan Island, a wildlife sanctuary and tourist area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Swan Island is a major wildlife tourist attraction for the town, especially during the summer.Richmond is also known for its collection of Greek Revival homes, unique for the area.

The Richmond Historic District encompasses the historic village center of Richmond, Maine. Established in the 17th century, the town reached its height of prosperity in the 19th century as a major shipbuilding center on the Kennebec River. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Bowman House is a historic house museum on Bowman Lane, off Maine State Route 128, in Dresden, Maine, United States. It was built in 1762, early in the area's colonial settlement history, and later served as the office of an ice harvesting business. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 7, 1971, under the name Bowman-Carney House. It is now a museum owned and managed by Historic New England.

The Dresden Town House is a historic civic and social venue at 391 Middle Road in Dresden, Maine. Built in 1859 and enlarged in 1904, it has housed town meetings for many years, as well as serving as a polling place and venue for social events such as dances and community group meetings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Harward Family House is a historic house on Pork Point Road in Bowdoinham, Maine. Built about 1795 and repeatedly enlarged and altered, it is historically significant as the home of Thomas Harward, whose family's local shipyard was one of the most important elements of Bowdoinham's economy until about 1870. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Robert Reed House, also known as the Robert P. Tristram Coffin House, is a historic house at Chop Point Road and Maine State Route 128 in Woolwich, Maine. Built in 1765, it is one of the area's oldest houses, and a distinct example of two period houses that have been joined. The house is also notable as the home of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Robert P. Tristram Coffin. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
